ASUS ROG Phone 3 was launched in India way back in July. It was made available in two storage variants of 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. Now, the company is introducing a third model of ROG Phone 3. The new variant comes equipped with 12GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
It is priced at INR 52,999 (~$723). Further, it will be up for grabs from October 16 through Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale. As for now, the existing 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variants are priced at Rs 49,999 (~$682) and Rs 57,999 (~$792), respectively.
The ROG Phone 3 features a 6.59-inch FHD+ HDR10+ AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 270Hz touch sampling rate. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865+ SoC paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. It sports a main snapper uses a 64MP (Sony IMX686 sensor), assisted by a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 5MP camera, while selfie and video call duties will be handled by a 24MP macro camera. The rear camera can shoot 8K video, while 4K video at 60fps is supported by both the front and rear cameras.
It packs a 6,000mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging and the QC 4.0 standard. The new GameCool 3 thermal hardware employs a 6x larger heat sink, a redesigned Copper 3D vapor chamber, and a larger graphite film for more efficient heat dissipation. Another area where ROG Phone 3 improves is the capacitive AirTrigger 3 shoulder buttons, which now support sliding and swiping.
Asus has retained the proprietary side-mounted port for charging the phone and attaching the new accessories that include the ROG Kunai 3 gamepad, TwinView Dock 3, Mobile Desktop Dock 2, the ROG Clip, and a redesigned Lighting Armor case.

ASUS ROG Phone 3 was launched last week with a 144Hz refresh rate and Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC. These are primarily responsible for the fluid experience on the phone. However, it has been revealed that the phone can go beyond the official numbers. The ROG Phone 3 has a hidden 160Hz refresh rate mode.
The latest development comes from XDA-Developers Editor-in-Chief, Mishaal Rahman who found a way to activate the 160Hz refresh rate on the phone. According to the report, he found references to the high refresh rate mode in the Settings app while he was trying to find out how the phone switches between refresh rates.
Mishaal found a debug command that allows the option to set the refresh rate to 160Hz appear in the settings menu. You can go to the report for the procedure that involves setting up ADB on your PC. When done, you can test the refresh rate by downloading the Fluid Simulation app.

Deals. Yes, yesterday was WWDC so Best Buy is running a 4-Day sale on Apple products which you should benefit from. They have $100 deals on MacBook Airs, $200 discounts on 13in MacBook Pros and you can even get a 15.4in MacBook Pro with a $1050 discount, leaving it at $3099 shipped depending on the configuration you want. They also have deals on iPads, and even iPhones. The Samusng Galaxy Chromebook is also $100 off, leaving the Intel Core i5, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD variant for $899. Finally, Amazon has the Sony Xperia 1, meaning you can get it for $798. We also have deals on Marshalls speakers and more.
And yesterday we covered a lot of what Apple announced at WWDC but now we have some hidden gems out of the different announcements we got yesterday. Like for example, AirPods are getting Optimized Charging just like your iPhone to preserve your battery health on the long run, all as part of what you’ll see on their menu on iOS 14. And speaking of that iOS 14 now notifies you if a fire alarm or if someone rang your doorbell through a new Sound Recognition accessibility feature. You also get a notification to your phone once your Apple Watch is fully charged. Speaking of the Apple Watch, they’re removing force touch gestures from it, as the company is already recommending developers to move the elements somewhere else. On that same negative front, widgets on the iPad are either still not fully baked, or are truly limited to the Today View and they sadly only work on landscape.. I know this makes no logical sense. This is the canvas that should get widgets. Finally, we all saw MKBHD’s clip on social where he shows us the new accessibility feature he uses to double tap the back to call on the Google Assistant or other commands. Well, you can program that feature to do more like take screenshots, mute your phone and more. And guys, these are just some. Stay tuned to more on tomorrow’s video.
Now, something huge other than WWDC happened yesterday, but this time, it wasn’t necessarily good news for everyone. Last year, Microsoft signed a lot of big names like Ninja and Shroud to their streaming platform, Mixer. Allegedly we’re talking tens of millions of dollars to sign them up. Basically Microsoft made these moves to compete with Twitch and YouTube but, apparently that wasn’t enough to get the platform off the ground. Now, Microsoft is giving up on Mixer as it will stop operations on July 22nd. If you’re a Mixer streamer and you’re worried, Facebook Gaming actually bought them out and is welcoming all of the Mixer streamers, offering them partner status and a Level Up program if they were already monetizing on Mixer. As of July 22nd, the Mixer URL will redirect you to Facebook GG. If you want to learn the specifics of the transition, we have them in the links in the description. All I can say is, for Ninja and Shroud, good for you. I guess we’ll see you back on Twitch soon.
We’ve been getting a lot of leaks of the ASUS ROG Phone 3, it was recently certified and we heard some of the specs. Now, ASUS took to Weibo to say that they are joining hands with Tencent Games to release “new energy” in 2020 and they confirmed a July launch date. Even though they did say it would happen in July, the exact date isn’t clear yet. The ROG Phone 2 was launched on July 22nd last year so we expect something similar. According to the certifications, this phone should bring a Snapdragon 865, 16GB of RAM, an AMOLED display running at 120Hz and up to 512GB of UFS 3.0 storage. We’ll keep you posted once we get the official date.
Well, we’re still wondering where is the Google Pixel 4a and it just appeared on two French e-tailers. It appeared on Ordimedia and eStock.fr and it was actually listed in both Just Black and Blue color variants, even if we thought the Blue color was getting scrapped. These website have the correct model numbers and they’re listed to start at 128GB of storage, which Google may have made the starting model to get an advantage over the iPhone SE. And according to this website, you can get them shipped in 8-12 business days with an ETA landing on July 12. However, we’re expecting these phones to be announced on July 13th with a possible launch date until October 22nd so this may just serve as some sort a confirmation that we could get the announcement on July 13. The price tags are €506 and €441 in the two websites and the specs are unchanged.
And finally for the hottest news today, let’s talk about the other hot stuff that also happened yesterday. See, both of the OnePlus co-founders tweeted out the hashtag #NewBeginnings, along with the question “Who wants something new?”. Well, today the company just announced that they have a new smartphone series launching soon. They also took to their forums to say that this new phone is bringing the premium, flagship experience to a new and more affordable product line. They also said that this new series will be introduced in Europe and India first but they are looking to bring it to North America in the future. As for the name, we’re still not sure as we’ve been calling it the OnePlus Z for the longest time but some new leaks hinted that it could be called “Nord by OnePlus” which they trademarked back in March. It’s also supposed to cost around $330 and launch around July 10th.

We have been hearing a lot of rumors regarding the ASUS ROG Phone 3 lately. Hence, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the company has confirmed to launch its next gaming phone in July. However, the exact lauch date is not known yet. To recall, the previous gaming phone, ASUS ROG Phone 2 was made official on July 22.
ASUS took to Weibo to reveal the latest development. Recently, the device was spotted on China’s TENAA telecom authority, which revealed the specifications of the upcoming handset. It is tipped to feature a notch-less 6.59-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 2340 pixels Full HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.
The gaming phone is reported to be powered by an overclocked Snapdragon 865 SoC, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM. It may come equipped with 256GB / 512GB of UFS 3.0 storage. It is said to sport a 64MP rear camera and 13MP selfie shooter.
Further, it could come with dual front-facing speakers with dual smart amplifier, FM Radio, Hi-Res audio, DTS Headphone:X 7.1 virtual surround sound for headphone, and quad mics with noise-cancellation. Further, the ASUS phone will pack a 6,000mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging.

Deals. We have some memorial day deals for you guys and we’ll have some more on our website over the weekend if you want to check them out. Let’s start out with Amazon which has the Google Pixel 3a for $120 off. This leaves the 64GB variant for $279 and it gets better, the 3a XL is $160 off, leaving the 64GB variant for $319 shipped. The Marshall Kilburn 2 speaker is also $90 off, leaving it at $210 shipped. Finally, the second generation AirPods are $50 off, leaving those at $150 shipped with the wireless charging case. As always we have more deals in the description that you can check out.
Oh so you thought the Galaxy S20 had a big camera hump? Well, vivo has been teasing their new X50 Pro which brings a gimbal like main camera. The company just released a new poster of the phone which shows the quad camera module with the huge main sensor. This main camera is a Samsung 50MP ISOCELL GN1 Sensor which comes with Dual Pixel PDAF tech for faster focusing, it basically rotates on it’s axis like a gimbal for better stabilization. The other cameras include a periscope, and most likely a wide angle and a macro camera. We’re expecting the vivo X50 lineup to launch on June 1.
Back in February Qualcomm gave us a list of phones that would bring the Snapdragon 865 and, that list included two ASUS phones. It looks like both of those phones are ready to launch according to a new report from Taiwan which claims that the ROG Phone 3 and the ZenFone 7 will either in Q2 or early Q3 of 2020. Going by last year’s launch date, if they do launch in July or August they will be late by a couple of months when compared to their predecessors but, the market isn’t in the same state as it was last year. The company is currently targeting a 30-50% growth in sales for the ROG Phone 3. We’ll keep you posted in case we get more leaks.
We all know how excited I was for the Moto RAZR last year, and we all know how that turned out. Well, according to Lenovo’s South African GM, the company is already working on a second generation device and it is supposed to come out in September. He actually mentioned the words “generation two” twice during a podcast while talking about the RAZR. Leaks will most likely start coming in soon and we hope it brings better specifications for the price tag, nostalgia can only go so far.
A new DigiTimes report claims that we’ll be getting Apple’s AirPods Studio sooner rather than later. The report mentions the fact that Apple will be dropping the wired earphones from the iPhone 12’s box like we covered yesterday. It also mentions that Cupertino will resume regular shipments of the AirPods 2 in the second half of this year, which we wonder if it has anything to do with the move of production to Vietnam, but that does match the timing of the possible AirPods Studio. The company has apparently already started production for these and we could see an announcement at WWDC and they might cost $350.
We recently got some sketches for the Galaxy Note 20′s design from Ice Universe. Now we got the first renders which were made based on that leaked design. The phone looks pretty similar to the Note 10 from the front with the very boxy design but it does bring some changes. The camera on this one has a larger hump, like the one on the S20 Ultra, the buttons are also on the right side and the S Pen was moved to the left. Like seriously, common sense changes. Now, these aren’t the official renders just yet but, this gives us a pretty good idea of what it might look like according to the sketches. Galaxy Club just found some new information and they claim that the Note 20+ will most likely bring a periscope camera. It isn’t clear if it will be the same one on the S20 Ultra and some other rumors claim that it won’t bring 100X zoom, but it pretty much explains the large camera hump for this phone as well.

The post Pocketnow Daily: Samsung Galaxy Note 20+ Leaks: Now We’re Talking! (video) appeared first on Pocketnow.
Back in February, Qualcomm revealed a list of upcoming phones that will be powered by the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 865 chip. In that list were two yet-to-be-announced phones from ASUS, the gaming-centric ROG Phone III and the ZenFone 7. It now appears that the aforementioned duo will go official soon.
As per a report from Taiwan-based Commercial Times, ASUS will launch the ZenFone 7 and the ROG Phone III around the end of 2020’s second quarter, or early in the third quarter. Going by the launch time frame of its predecessor, July or August would be a couple of months late, but it is good to see that ASUS has not shelved the device and is still moving ahead with its launch.
In fact, the company is targeting a 30% to 50% increase in sales for the ROG Phone III compared to its predecessor, the ROG Phone II. It remains to be seen if third time’s the charm for ASUS when it comes to actually getting its beastly gaming phone in the hands of more users.

Deals. Come on, we know you want more Apple deals so yeah, awe got you. Amazon currently has the 40mm Apple Watch Series 5 for $99 off, leaving it at $300 shipped. However, this is the GPS only version but you can get the discount on more color variants. The Fossil Gen 5 Carlyle stainless steel watch is also $96 off, leaving it at $199 shipped. We have more deals on Motorola phones and Amazon products in the links in the description.
Razer just refreshed their Blade 17 Pro Laptop for this year in two different variants, and let’s just say both are insane in their own way. One with a 17.3in FHD IPS display at 300Hz refresh rate and another 17.3in 4K touch display at 120Hz. The specs include an 8-core 10th Gen Intel i7, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, up to 2TB of SSD and graphics can go up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super Max Q. It starts at $2599 and it will be available later this month. We have a full spec sheet for the ports and other details in the links in the description.
We know a lot of you are huge fans of the ASUS ROG Phones and it looks like we might be getting another one soon, thought this one doesn’t seem like the powerhouse its predecessors were. It was just spotted on Geekbench and the WiFi Alliance, sporting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, 8GB of RAM and running Android 10. The model number is pretty similar to the one we got for the ROG Phone 2 so it only makes sense. This phone could launch in the second half of the year, we’ll keep you posted once we get more leaks.
The WSJ claims that Amazon will be delaying their Prime Day this year for, obvious reasons. Previous reports speculated that they would delay it until August but this report claims that they will be pushing it back until September. This delay would create room for more inventory and prepare shipping for more types of products. This will most likely not hurt Amazon too much but instead the third party companies that get more sales through Prime Day. We don’t have an official date for Prime Date yet, but it won’t happen in July. Thing is, let’s be honest. I don’t think anyone is really looking for some crazy shopping in the current state of the economy.
According to Ming Chi Kuo, Apple is ready to make their next courageous move. In his latest report, Apple will stop shipping wired EarPods inside the iPhone 12 lineup’s box. This would create an inconvenience for most of the consumers which use these earbuds but, it would also boost up AirPods sales for the holidays. This goes along with Kuo’s report that Apple won’t be releasing more AirPods this year, as they might be trying to sell as much from the current models as they can. Some sources claim that we might get an AirPods bundle with the iPhone 12 but, you never know with Apple. Now why is this important? I know most Android OEMS don’t bundle earbuds, but the iPhone was always meant to be a successor to the iPod. It’s been legendarily known for the earbuds in the box since generation 1. You see people with them all the time. Oh well..
And finally the most interesting news today continue to be Google Pixel 4a, but NOT necessarily for good reasons today. We’ve been getting more and more Pixel leaks lately because, we thought we were getting closer to the launch date for the 4a. First we were expecting it to launch around May 15th but that was clearly delayed, and we were expecting a June launch which made sense because of the Android 11 Event but it seems that won’t be the case, again… Gotta hand it to Jon Prosser for his track record in leaks, and in his new report, the Pixel 4a will be delayed once again and it will get a July 13th announcement. According to his sources, the phone is ready to ship but it keeps getting pushed because of the market’s condition due to the pandemic. Apparently it will bring a regular Snapdragon 7 Series chip with no 5G, and he also pretty much confirms that we won’t be getting an XL variant after all. The Pixel 5 might get pushed back as well.
