Apple’s latest MacBook Air and more devices are on sale today

The official news today begin with Deals, and this time no worries, they are not only about Apple. We have some nice deals to start off the month of July, let’s begin with the Pixel 4 which we just re-visited after Android 11 Public Beta. Make sure you watch that video, but yes it is $100 off, leaving the 64GB variant for $699 shipped. The 4XL is $107 off, leaving it at $791 shipped for the same amount of storage. The latest MacBook Air $100 off on Amazon as well, leaving it at $1200 shipped for the 512GB but if you go over to B&H you can find the 256GB variant for $899. We have more deals on Motorola phones, USB docking stations and more in the links in the description.

POCO M2 Pro is the next POCO phone launching in India on July 7

Recently there’s been some rumors on POCO releasing a new phone in the following weeks. Now, POCO took to Twitter to announce that they will be releasing a new phone called the POCO M2 Pro with the hashtag #FeelTheSurge. The announcement and launch will happen on July 7th at 12PM and the phone will be an exclusive for India. It will reportedly be a rebranded variant of the Redmi Note 9 as they have similar model numbers and it’ll be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Series. We’ll keep you posted next week once we get the device. You gotta admit that Poco has been doing some impressive stuff.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G’s TENAA listing reveals a new color option

It seems that Samsung won’t attend the next IFA 2020

We’re getting closer and closer to Unpacked and logically most of these devices are going through specifications. The Galaxy Z Flip 5G recently went through a TENAA certification which revealed some of the specs we covered earlier like the dual batteries that add up to 3204 mAh and the 15W fast charging. On this certification we can tell that the Z Flip 5G comes in a new gray color variant which wasn’t on the original Z Flip. We have some new renders from Twitter showing the color variant and it will apparently rock new AG Glass Tech for a matte finish. Moving on from that, we know that IFA will still happen this year but in an unorthodox way and it looks like Samsung won’t be attending. According to a South Korean publication, Sammy wants to avoid mass gatherings and complications due to the pandemic. There isn’t any official statement yet but if that is the case we should get it soon.

Qualcomm confirms the chipset used on the OnePlus Nord

OnePlus has done a great job at teasing their upcoming smartphone the OnePlus Nord which, still isn’t in my pocket, stop looking at me funny! However, one of the things that wasn’t clear from the leaks was the processo. Well, the company just tweeted out “You asked and we delivered” on their UK account and non other than Qualcomm quoted the tweet to say that they are excited to work with OnePlus on their New Beginnings which will be powered by the Snapdragon 765G processor. We’re still waiting on episode 2 of the documentary but, we’re expecting this phone to launch some time around early July and costing around $350.

iPhone 12 Pro might not offer a 120Hz display after all

iPhone 12 to arrive with nothing more than a thinner box and a cable

iPhone 12 lineup is facing mass production delays, again

We know, the iPhone 12’s time line has been a mess, one day we hear that it’s significantly delayed and the next we hear that it’s back on track and we will get it on time. Today is no different as we have a new Nikkei Asian report saying that there might even be months of delays when it comes to mass production but Apple is doing everything they can to shorten the postponement. Apparently some of the iPhone assembly could be delayed until early October so it wouldn’t be surprising if we got more delays down the road. Ming Chi Kuo also reported yesterday that the mmWave iPhones would be delayed due to some changes to the antenna package. On a separate note, a tipster on Twitter claims that the iPhone 12’s box will be “thinner and quite exquisite this year“, after you know, they get rid of the charger and the EarPods. Finally, DSSC’s Ross Young just put out a new 120Hz device list for the rest of this year and he says none of their contacts can confirm that the iPhone 12 will bring a 120Hz display so they are off the list. This doesn’t mean they are completely off the table but, it’s not a good sign.

Story of the day:

Samsung just accidentally leaked the Galaxy Note 20, and it looks stunning

And finally, the hottest news of the day have to do with the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series. I mean, we’ve had concept renders, case leaks and stuff, though nothing really official, but you know we’ve been waiting for Samsung to spill the beans, as it wouldn’t be the first time.. And well, today is the day. Samsung Russia accidentally uploaded a picture of the Note 20 to their website showing off the new camera array, the new S Pen and the leaked copper color variant which will apparently be called “Mystic Bronze”. This time we get a triple camera array that still includes a periscope lens, it’s just not apart from the others like we got with the S20 Ultra. The 100X text is now gone along with the ToF sensor which will be replaced with laser autofocus. We weren’t able to see the display but we’re still expecting it to bring a centered punch hole with smaller bezels than the ones we got on last year’s Note.

Say goodbye to June with amazing deals on the 10.2-inch iPad and more

Deals. It’s the last day of June but you can bet it’s not our last day of deals. Let’s start off with the 10.2-inch iPad which is $50 off, leaving the entry level variant for $279 shipped. If you want extra storage, the 128GB variant is also $50 off, leaving it at $379. The Razer Blade 15 is also $300 off, leaving the Intel Core i7, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD variant for $1700 shipped. The Galaxy Note 10 Lite is also $100 off, leaving it at $450 at B&H. We have more deals on Chromebooks, Galaxy Watches, Beats headphones and more in the links in the description.

Qualcomm announces Snapdragon Wear 4100 Platforms for wearables

Qualcomm just announced their new Snapdragon War 4100 and 4100+ platforms for the future of smartwatches. It’s built on a hybrid 12nm architecture, down from the 28nm from last year. This new architecture includes a higher performance SoC with improved CPU, GPU, Memory, Cellular Modem and camera sub systems. Basically the difference between the two is that the 4100+ is a big processor with the same small co-processor we saw on the 3100, while the 4100 is just a big processor. Some of the new features promised include Super-Fast Performance and Connectivity, a dedicated LTE mode, a Smarter Always On Display with far more colors. We have all of the specifics in the links in the description.

Microsoft might unveil the cheaper Xbox Series S console in August

It’s no secret that the PS5 made a bunch of headlines this month after they revealed the design but, we didn’t get a price tag and we’re assuming it’s going to be kinda hefty. Now, we’ve known that Microsoft will most likely have the upper hand when it comes to actual performance of the Series X but we’re also assuming that price tag will be heft as well. Apparently Microsoft is working on a more affordable console which is codenamed “Lockhart” and will reportedly debut as the Xbox Series “S”. The codename came from some leaked devkit documents but now a new report claims that this more affordable console will be announced in August. According to the leaks, this console will aim at 1080p and 1440p gaming instead of the 4K we’ll be getting from the Series X. It will bring the same CPU as the Series X but it will pack less usable RAM and a less powerful GPU. We’ll keep you posted.

Google acquires North, the maker of Focals smart glasses

Do you remember Google Glass? Well that didn’t turn out the way Google intended it to and now we’ve been getting a lot of rumors of Apple’s AR Glasses so Google decided to make a move. Mountain View just acquired North, the company behind the Focals 1.0 Smart Glasses. Neither of the two companies have disclosed the financial transaction but Rick Osterloh said in a blog post that North will be merged with Google’s team in Canada. The problem with this is that we won’t be getting the Focals 2.0 and this project is aimed at the long run so we’re not exactly sure about when we’ll get to see some hardware. Let’s just hope it’s Focals handling what’s coming up next and not Google. I mean.. Focals has succeeded, Google hasn’t.

OnePlus’ upcoming budget phone will officially debut as OnePlus Nord

It’s finally June 30 so OnePlus just launched the first episode of their documentary series and it actually reveals a lot of information. First off, the phone will be dubbed as the OnePlus Nord, the company even changed the Instagram account name to “OnePlus.Nord”. On this first episode, Pete Lau announced that this will be the company’s first product under the $500 mark in recent years. He also mentioned that it will be sold in India and Europe and only selected US consumers will be able to get it through a highly limited beta program after the release. We’re not sure if this is an early design but in one of the scenes we see a phone with a flat punch hole display and with dual selfie cameras, pretty much like the leaks. Pre-orders will also be available tomorrow, even if we haven’t really seen the phone. And no, stop looking at me funny, I don’t have the phone yet..

Story of the day:

iPhone 12 will allegedly record 4K videos at 240fps

Don’t expect to find BOE OLED panels in 5G iPhones soon

And finally for the hottest news today, let’s talk iPhone 12. We’ve got two separate leaks, one that’s expected, the other that still has me speechless, and I’m not talking about the lack of a charger, we discussed that yesterday. Let’s start with a follow-up with Apple and BOE displays, or should I say, the lack of a partnership. According to a new DigiTimes report, BOE failed to secure Apple’s validation for these displays. This doesn’t mean that they won’t supply displays at all, it just means that we might get BOE displays on some iPhones until Q4, after the phone is launched. Meanwhile, Samsung and LG will be handling all of the displays until Apple and BOE can iron out their issues. But alright, let me ask you this: Name one consumer grade camera that can film 4K at 240fps. Heck, name one that can film 4K at 120fps. Thing is, we can barely name a handful that can do 4K at 60fps even today. Well on an interesting note, earlier this weekend, EverythingApplePro posted a new video with leaks and predictions for the iPhone 12 line, one of them being an option to record 4K video at 240FPS, and today, according to a tipster on Twitter, there is evidence on the iOS 14 Beta filesystem that mentions this feature, allowing for 4K video at 240FPS native video. Like this is nuts. I still consider any iPhone after the XS to be a great B camera, or good enough for anyone to start a YouTube channel.

Apple’s latest 16-inch MacBook Pro, Apple Watch Series 3 and more on sale today

Deals. Let’s start off today with the latest 16-inch MacBook Pro which is $300 off on Amazon, leaving the 2.3GHz Intel Core i9, 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage variant for $2500. The Apple Watch Series 3 is $30 off, leaving the GPS only 38mm variant for $169 shipped. The Hisense H8 Quantum Series 4K TV is $50 off which leaves it at $350 shipped and, that’s actually a steal. I actually have one set for review as soon as I get back to NY. Finally the Razer Viper Ultralight Wired mouse which my son loves more than me is $30 off, leaving it at $50 shipped. We have more deals in the links in the description. And yeah, sad truth.

We could get up to 100W fast charging with the Snapdragon 875

Some new leaks for the Snapdragon 875 have just emerged, showing an interesting new feature. According to the tipster, the 875 will be capable of 100W fast charging. This will be advertised as a feature for gaming phones, allowing for a shorter down-time between gaming sessions. We’re expecting this SoC to be produced on a 5nm architecture and rocking the new Cortex X1 as its prime core and three Cortex A77 cores. On the meantime we’re expecting Qualcomm to launch an 865+ this July which we’ll talk about in a minute.

New Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 renders reveal its color variants

Samsung Galaxy Fold Lite launch reportedly delayed, could debut next year for $830

We’ve been covering a lot of leaks when it comes to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3. From certifications, to specs to renders. Well, now we have some more renders from Evan Blass as well but, these look more like the official renders Samsung would use to show off the different color variants. According to Evan and the renders, we’ll be getting Black and Bronze variants while the Bronze kinda looks like a Rose Gold tone. There’s also been some rumors of a Galaxy Fold Lite which we were apparently going to get at Unpacked but, a new leak claims that it was postponed. According to a South Korean publication, the Fold Lite has been delayed until 2021 and it will reportedly cost around $830. It’s said to arrive with different components as the Fold and the outer display will reportedly be smaller than the Z Flip’s, if that’s even possible. It’ll only support LTE, bring 256GB of storage and Mirror Black and Purple variants.

OnePlus Buds in Black with a closed-fit design leaked

Along with the leaks for the OnePlus Nord, we’ve been getting leaks of some OnePlus TWS earbuds for the longest time. Most of them came in sketches and now we have a new one from the same source. The design hasn’t really changed much, they still kinda look like AirPods on the Pixel Buds case but these ones seem to have buttons on the side. This sketch emphasizes on a Black color variant with red accents which we hadn’t exactly seen before. We’re supposed to be getting these along with the OnePlus Nord and they should have Touch Controls, the Google Assistant and fast-pairing with OnePlus devices.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 has fixed Galaxy S20 focusing issues

We have some new tweets from Ice Universe about what we should expect at Unpacked and now it’s getting way better. On the first tweet he mentions again that Samsung has completely fixed the S20 Ultra’s focusing problem but he also mentions that the QHD+ display at 120Hz is still not optimistic. Then on a more interesting tweet he claims that Samsung have eaten up the Snapdragon 865+ processors. He claims that the whole Note 20 Series, the Galaxy Fold 2, the Z Flip 5G and even the Tab S7 will be using the Snapdragon 865+ processors. If you remember last year, the 855+ was announced on July 15th so, we’ll keep you posted.

Story of the day:

Kuo reiterates Apple’s plans of a new 10.8-inch iPad in 2020, iPad Mini in 2021

[UPDATE] Apple to not include in-box charger and EarPods with iPhone 12 series?

Ming Chi Kuo is back and, we don’t really like what he has to say this time. Let’s start off with iPads, back in May Kuo said that Apple would be releasing two new iPads. Now, on his latest report he mentions them once again, a new 10.8-inch iPad for the second half of 2020 followed by an 8.5in iPad Mini in the first half of 2021. We don’t know if the 10.8in iPad will be a successor to the 10.2-inch iPad or the 10.5-inch but, both this one and the iPad Mini should bring that 20W charger we covered last week in the box. Speaking of that charger, Kuo claims that it might not make it to the iPhone 12’s box after all. The report says that Apple will remove the EarPods and the power adapter from the box, leaving only the USB-C to Lightning Cable. This means that you’ll either have to pony up $30 for the 18W or 20W or $20 for the 5. We’ve also been seeing some leaks of AirPower fully working so if that’s coming that might be the reason for this decision.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition aka S20 Lite will arrive in October

This year we got the S10 Lite and the Note 10 Lite at CES but, it looks like Samsung doesn’t want to wait too much this time around. According to a new Korean report we could be getting a new Galaxy S20 Lite as soon as October. The report claims that Samsung is working on a 3-month continuous phone launch strategy where the Note 20 will arrive in August, the Fold 2 will hit the shelves in September and we could be getting this S20 Lite in October. Another report claims that this phone might actually be called the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition, which just sounds a little fancier. This phone will reportedly come in LTE and 5G skews and will run One UI 2.5 over Android 10.

Microsoft is permanently shutting down its retail stores

I’ve got to hand it to Microsoft for reaching profitability again in such a staggering way, but I’m not gonna deny that the controversial decisions are not my favorite, like killing Windows Phone and writing off the Nokia deal. Well today we have another one. Microsoft decided to close their retail stores temporarily back when the pandemic started but, apparently they want to keep it that way. In a major strategy shift, Microsoft just announced that they’ll be permanently closing almost all of their retail stores across the globe and they will be relying only on their online sales and their services. As for the jobs, we don’t know if they will be able to keep all of them but, Microsoft says that their retail team will “continue to serve customers from the Microsoft corporate facilities or even remotely”. They also say that they will “re-imagine” the space in their stores but we don’t exactly know what that means just yet.

Google Pixel 4a nears launch as it appears on FCC

Even if the Google Pixel 4a isn’t talked about as much lately, it still pops up in the rumor mill just enough for us to not completely forget about it. Now, it was just listed on the FCC which usually means that we’re getting close to a launch date. From that listing we got three different model numbers, one for the US and the other two are most likely for other parts of the world. Now we also have some case renders for the phone that show the more symmetrical bezels we’re expecting, the hole for the stove camera and even the punch hole at the front. The phone on the case render is Blue but, we still don’t know if that variant will be announced as it might’ve gotten scrapped. We’re still hoping for a July 13 launch so we’ll keep you posted as, Pixel 5 leaks should start coming soon.

OnePlus Nord will feature a dual front camera setup of 32MP + 8MP

We’ve been getting a lot of teasers and leaks for the upcoming OnePlus Nord. Now, a new development from Android Central talks about the selfie cameras, yes, cameras. We were expecting this phone to come with a centered single punch hole but according to this leak, it’ll bring dual front facing cameras. These will consist of a main 32MP sensor along with an 8MP secondary, but we don’t know exactly what the secondary camera will do. The leak mentions that the two cameras will come like the ones on the Huawei P40, at the top left corner. We’re expecting this phone to bring a Snapdragon 765, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, with a starting price around $330.

Story of the day:

New leaks give us a 4G iPhone 12 starting at $549

iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max could arrive with 120Hz displays

And finally for the hottest news today let’s talk iPhone 12 and two very important things… new perks.. And what you’ll have to pay for a specific variant we didn’t think would happen. We have some new leaks from Ice Universe but, they’re actually not for a Samsung device, sort off. We know Samsung provides Apple’s displays, especially when it comes to the Pro models. Well, according to him and “a reliable source”, the iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max have basically the maximum 120Hz refresh rate. Some iOS 14 beta users have found an accessibility setting that limits the frame rate of their device to 60fps, hinting that future iPhones will be capable of higher refresh rate. Now, we don’t know if these iPhones will bring variable refresh rate but, that’s most likely not going to be the case for this year. Instead we’ll apparently get Apple’s ProMotion feature which dynamically adjusts the display to the movement of content for fluid scrolling, greater responsiveness and smoother motion. We also have a new leak from Twitter, though the source I’ve never heard of, and the leak is also funky.. so we have a claim that we will still get LTE versions for the iPhone 12 and 12 Max (Not Pros), and if we do, these will cost as low as $549. The 12 Max will cost $649 and the 5G prices will be $649 for the 12 and $749 for the 12 Max, pretty much like Jon leaked before. Here’s everything we saw today during Apple’s WWDC 2020

A couple of days ago we gave you some tidbits of features that weren’t exactly talked about at WWDC but are coming with the new updates and now we have some more. For example, you remember the start up chime on the Mac? Well, it’s coming back with the Big Sur update. Speaking of things coming back, Apple is reviving the Game Center on both iOS and the macOS with a new update. iOS14 is also able to detect hand and body motion to provide new features like fitness performance tracking or use emoji overlays on different scenarios. A new privacy feature let’s you give limited access to apps that ask to permission to access your Photos or other files. Let us know if you want more of these updates.

Android 11 sheds more light on Google’s upcoming Android TV dongle

Lately we’ve been getting some leaks of Google’s upcoming dongle codenamed Sabrina. Sabrina would be Google’s first Android TV dongle since the Nexus Player. Now, Google just dropped a new Android 11 Developer Preview, exclusive for this dongle. In it we have some files that make reference to Sabrina along with a new video with instructions on how to reboot it. It looks exactly like the leaked video we got from XDA where the G Logo is in the center instead of the bottom like on the case of the Chromecast Ultra. Rumors hint to this device being launched along with Android 11 so we could get it at the Pixel 5 Event.

OnePlus is making a documentary film about the journey behind creating a new phone

OnePlus has been teasing their new phone in a… different way. Let’s just say they’re taking the crown for making it unique again, cause if you remember, they were pretty much first at launching a phone with an invitation system back in the day. Today, well, first we saw their new Instagram account and now, they just put out a teaser for a 4-part documentary detailing how they made the phone. At least we think, cause the teaser seems to be more about how OnePlus came to be in the early days. The first part will apparently premiere on June 30 and it consists of different interviews and the whole creative process, but it’s not entirely clear if it’s about the OnePlus One, or this new phone that might be coming, but it’s the story of a six month process. The name for the phone isn’t completely clear yet but if you search Nord on Amazon, it lands on a OnePlus teaser. We hope we’ll get more from this documentary ahead of the July launch.

Yet another leak suggests a 108MP camera on the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra  More

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G specs leaked online

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 appears in new render

We have multiple leaks for Samsung’s upcoming Unpacked Event. Let’s start with the Z Flip 5G which just went through certification so we got some updated specs. According to this certification it’ll bring the Snapdragon 865 clocked at 3.09GHz, a 6.7in AMOLED display, dual batteries rated at 2500 mAh + 704 mAh and the usual specs from the previous Z Flip. Moving on, we have some new renders of the Galaxy Watch 3 from Mr. Evan Blass himself. Apparently this is the 45mm variant on a 22mm black leather band. We hadn’t really gotten a lot of leaks when it came to design for this Watch. Finally, we have some alleged Note 20+ case leaks that show off the new camera array and pretty much confirm the dimensions we’re expecting and, a very reliable tipster on Twitter just confirmed that it will bring a 108MP main camera. Another report also claimed that the Note 20+ or Ultra will reach 50x hybrid zoom with a 13MP periscope lens and will ditch the ToF for laser autofocus, it will also bring a 12MP ultra wide.

Story of the day:

Supply chain sources claim the iPhone 12 will launch in September

Apple’s first ARM-based Macs will be a MacBook Pro and a redesigned iMac

And finally, the hottest news today have to do with Apple’s roadmap, which includes iPhones, and also the possibility that Apple Silicon computers are not gonna be products to frown upon. Starting with iPhone there’s been numerous reports that this year’s iPhones will be delayed for obvious reasons but, the analyst that once predicted there wouldn’t be delays is now confirming it. According to him, the supply chain has gone back to normality on an impressive level, way ahead of the expectations and the report claims that this may put Apple in a position where they will be able to launch the new iPhones in their typical mid to late September frame. Now, Ming Chi Kuo did report a couple of months ago that we still might get a delay due to the mmWave variants so we still might get all the phones announced in September but not launched at the same time. Speaking of Kuo, he put out a report a couple of days ago where he said the Apple Silicon plans are kind of epic. Apple plans to launch the redesigned iMac in Q4 of this year. He says that this will be one of the first two ARM Macs that Cupertino plans to release in the fall with the second one being a 13in MacBook Pro. In the meantime, Kuo expects Apple to refresh the current Intel based iMac in Q3 but it is unclear if that model will feature the new design.

Finally, the Skagen Connected Falster 3 Stainless Steel is $62 off, leaving it at $233 on Amazon. We have more deals on Razer keyboards and more.

Panasonic announces productivity+, a suite of Android support solutions and TOUGHBOOK A3 tablet

Panasonic is famous for their Toughbook line and we have seen them launch tablets every now and then but it’s been a while since we’ve had a chance to play with one. The company just announced their new Toughbook A3 which brings a 10.1in display with 1920 x 1200 resolution, it is powered by a Snapdragon 660 along with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB of expandable eMMC storage. When it comes to durability, this thing is MIL-STD-810 certified as well as IP65 dust and water resistance. Panasonic is actually throwing a 3-year limited warranty, parts and label if you purchase this product. It also brings a new Productivity+ feature for mobile device development, deployment and sustainment for customers. It lets you rewrite apps, configure device settings and more for Android devices. Our own Joshua Vergara already has a unit for review, so stay tuned for that.

Motorola schedules an event for July 7. Is the Edge Lite finally coming?

Motorola has been pretty busy lately, releasing their new Edge family, the new Moto G lineup and even the Moto Fusion+ and it looks like they want to keep that streak rolling. The company just sent out some press invitations for an event happening on July 7. The teaser doesn’t give out any hints but, we do think this will be the Moto Edge Lite which got certified last week, revealing all of the specs. It’s supposedly going to bring a 6.7in LCD display at 90Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 765 SoC, a 4800mAh battery and four cameras at the back. We’ll keep you posted once the event happens.

OnePlus Nord may be the official name of the OnePlus Z

OnePlus is straight poking at us right now after all the speculation we’ve had on their new products’ name. So much so that they created a new Instagram account with the user “OnePlusLiteZThing” to post teasers on their new phone. On a now deleted post the company showed two cards, one that says “Here’s to the first 100” with another paragraph that we can’t read and behind it, the other card says the word NORD in all caps. The other posts have several teasers, like even one with what we think is an RGB code for a light tint of blue which is the color variant we’ve always seen in the renders. We’ll keep you posted once more rumors start popping up. Think about it, what if NORD eventually becomes a sub-brand just like Huawei did with Honor? Maybe that’s what they mean by new beginnings.

iPhone 12 could arrive with a new 20W power adapter in the box

iPhones haven’t had the fastest chargers… ever. Well, it looks like they’re ready to keep catching up. A tipster on Twitter just posted some new pictures saying that the iPhone 12 line up will bring a 20W charger. He even shared a picture of the actual charger with the 20W label and now, that charger just got certified in a Norwegian database. The certification was issued on February 28 for a 20W USB-C power adapter. We hope this means that the 20W adapter will go to the Pro models and that Apple will leave the 18W adapter for the non-Pro models but, you never know with Apple. We’re just hoping we never have to see the 5W adapter again.

Story of the day:

This might be our first glimpse of the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2, and it looks weird

We have some new renders for the upcoming Galaxy Fold 2 from Ice Universe and, they look kinda weird. We have two pictures, one showing off the phone and the other one with some basic schematics. Clearly the company is doing its best to fit a larger display on the outer screen as we can see the hurdles in fitting cameras and other hardware. For example, the selfie camera on the main display is on the center of the right side of the phone. It obviously can’t be in the middle because of the crease, and it seems it won’t be on the right as was on the previous fold because of the larger camera module being hinted. So yes, symmetry might not be the folds strong hold, but then again, there are so many usage scenarios for this phone that making it thin and usable is the challenge. He didn’t exactly show the outside but on another picture it does show us the schematics showing the camera hump that looks pretty much like the one on the S20+ and the outer display which is significantly larger and, this one does have the punch hole in the middle. Here’s everything we saw today during Apple’s WWDC 2020

And yesterday we covered a lot of what Apple announced at WWDC but now we have some hidden gems out of the different announcements we got yesterday. Like for example, AirPods are getting Optimized Charging just like your iPhone to preserve your battery health on the long run, all as part of what you’ll see on their menu on iOS 14. And speaking of that iOS 14 now notifies you if a fire alarm or if someone rang your doorbell through a new Sound Recognition accessibility feature. You also get a notification to your phone once your Apple Watch is fully charged. Speaking of the Apple Watch, they’re removing force touch gestures from it, as the company is already recommending developers to move the elements somewhere else. On that same negative front, widgets on the iPad are either still not fully baked, or are truly limited to the Today View and they sadly only work on landscape.. I know this makes no logical sense. This is the canvas that should get widgets. Finally, we all saw MKBHD’s clip on social where he shows us the new accessibility feature he uses to double tap the back to call on the Google Assistant or other commands. Well, you can program that feature to do more like take screenshots, mute your phone and more. And guys, these are just some. Stay tuned to more on tomorrow’s video.

Microsoft gives up on Mixer, moving streamers and viewers to Facebook Gaming

Now, something huge other than WWDC happened yesterday, but this time, it wasn’t necessarily good news for everyone. Last year, Microsoft signed a lot of big names like Ninja and Shroud to their streaming platform, Mixer. Allegedly we’re talking tens of millions of dollars to sign them up. Basically Microsoft made these moves to compete with Twitch and YouTube but, apparently that wasn’t enough to get the platform off the ground. Now, Microsoft is giving up on Mixer as it will stop operations on July 22nd. If you’re a Mixer streamer and you’re worried, Facebook Gaming actually bought them out and is welcoming all of the Mixer streamers, offering them partner status and a Level Up program if they were already monetizing on Mixer. As of July 22nd, the Mixer URL will redirect you to Facebook GG. If you want to learn the specifics of the transition, we have them in the links in the description. All I can say is, for Ninja and Shroud, good for you. I guess we’ll see you back on Twitch soon.

ASUS ROG Phone 3 will be launched in July

We’ve been getting a lot of leaks of the ASUS ROG Phone 3, it was recently certified and we heard some of the specs. Now, ASUS took to Weibo to say that they are joining hands with Tencent Games to release “new energy” in 2020 and they confirmed a July launch date. Even though they did say it would happen in July, the exact date isn’t clear yet. The ROG Phone 2 was launched on July 22nd last year so we expect something similar. According to the certifications, this phone should bring a Snapdragon 865, 16GB of RAM, an AMOLED display running at 120Hz and up to 512GB of UFS 3.0 storage. We’ll keep you posted once we get the official date.

The Google Pixel 4a was found on two French online retailer websites

Well, we’re still wondering where is the Google Pixel 4a and it just appeared on two French e-tailers. It appeared on Ordimedia and eStock.fr and it was actually listed in both Just Black and Blue color variants, even if we thought the Blue color was getting scrapped. These website have the correct model numbers and they’re listed to start at 128GB of storage, which Google may have made the starting model to get an advantage over the iPhone SE. And according to this website, you can get them shipped in 8-12 business days with an ETA landing on July 12. However, we’re expecting these phones to be announced on July 13th with a possible launch date until October 22nd so this may just serve as some sort a confirmation that we could get the announcement on July 13. The price tags are €506 and €441 in the two websites and the specs are unchanged.

Story of the day:

OnePlus announces a ‘new, more affordable smartphone series’ is coming to India and Europe soon

OnePlus is “ready for something new”: OnePlus Z launch imminent?

And finally for the hottest news today, let’s talk about the other hot stuff that also happened yesterday. See, both of the OnePlus co-founders tweeted out the hashtag #NewBeginnings, along with the question “Who wants something new?”. Well, today the company just announced that they have a new smartphone series launching soon. They also took to their forums to say that this new phone is bringing the premium, flagship experience to a new and more affordable product line. They also said that this new series will be introduced in Europe and India first but they are looking to bring it to North America in the future. As for the name, we’re still not sure as we’ve been calling it the OnePlus Z for the longest time but some new leaks hinted that it could be called “Nord by OnePlus” which they trademarked back in March. It’s also supposed to cost around $330 and launch around July 10th.

We keep getting more Apple deals from B&H and Amazon

We find most of today’s deals over at B&H Photo Video, where you will find a new Mega Deal Zone event. You can find tons of interesting deals over at B&H, but be advised; they end on June 25. Within these deals, you can find Apple’s 13-inch MacBook Pro with discounts that start at $100 and go all the way up to $700, but it will all depend on the model you choose. Our best pick is the 13-inch MacBook Pro with a 2.4GHz Intel Core i5 processor with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage space for $1,349 after a $450 discount.

We now move over to Amazon, where we find the Apple Watch Series 5 getting some interesting discounts. You can get yours starting from $299.

Microsoft is already at work optimizing Android 11 for Surface Duo: Report

We had some reports claiming that the Microsoft Surface Duo was coming some time during July. Now, a new report from Windows Latest says that Microsoft is already working on Android 11 for this device. However, we still are expecting it to launch with Android 10 out of the box with Microsoft’s Launcher on top but, according to the report it should get this version of Android 11 fairly quickly, possibly in a couple of months after the release. The specs still remain the same but we’ll see if we get it next month after all.

We have a new spec leak of the Motorola Edge Lite

Another Motorola Edge variant is in works

We just learned through an FCC certification that Motorola is adding a new device to their Edge family. The certification shows a new Moto Edge Lite and now we have a list of specs from a different source. It’ll bring a 6.7in 1080p display at 90Hz and despite bringing the Edge name, it’s not a waterfall display. It brings an on-display fingerprint scanner and a dual punch hole for the selfie cameras. It’ll be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G, bring 4 or 6GB of RAM, and 64 or 128GB of storage. On the camera department it’ll bring a quad camera array including a 48MP main sensor and the other ones will consist of 16MP + 8MP + 5MP. We’re still wondering what exactly makes this variant “lite” but it will be reportedly priced at €399.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G could arrive with a better processor

Samsung’s Unpacked is pretty much around the corner and, we’re expecting the new Notes, the new Fold and a 5G variant of the Galaxy Z Flip but, it looks like it will be more than just the addition of 5G. According to a new SamMobile report, the Z Flip 5G just went through Geekbench and it has a significant spec bump. According to the listing, it’ll be powered by the Snapdragon 865 instead of the 855+. The report also mentions that the phone will most likely be more expensive than the original variant considering that it now brings 5G capabilities and a new processor.

Apple Glasses could use eye tracking to deliver video AR experiences

We have a new patent application from Apple that shows us how their AR Glasses might work and they’re actually pretty complicated. They’re described as a “head-mounted display” in the patent and they would work by using one or more gaze tracking sensors, one or more image sensors and a processing apparatus. Here’s the thing, the original script was to describe all the technical jargon of what this means, but I do value not getting you drunk before you’ve had your first drink. In a nutshell, the technology would use video to complete your “AR” experience by laying AR content over your real-world environment, kind of like the way the IKEA app works. Rumors have it that this headset might launch until 2022 and they’ll be considered an iPhone accessory as you’re getting the information from the iPhone. Guys, trust me, you don’t wanna read the patent. It’s not made for regular humans like you and me.

Story of the day:

A Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra may arrive with more power and less bezels than the Note 20+

And finally, the hottest news today have to do with the Galaxy Note you might actually want to buy this year. See, yesterday the topic was all about the Galaxy Note 20 being all stripped down, but I guess today we learn why Samsung wants to push that plus variant. We have a new tweet from Ice Universe where he mentions a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. Again, not sure if the final name will be Ultra, but you get the picture. It still isn’t fully clear if the Ultra will be a completely separate variant or if he’s talking about the Note 20+ here but let’s assume this a separate variant. On the tweet he mentions this is an Evolution version of the Note 10+, it’ll bring a Snapdragon 865+, and a QHD+120Hz display with LTPO technology for better power efficiency. The tweet also mentions some new camera functions and a new S-Pen with new features. He also showed some images on the tweet but later on he clarified that the images were of a Note 10+. Some time ago we heard a rumor of the Note 20 Ultra coming after the Unpacked and bringing this Snapdragon 865+ so that could still be the case.
