The Amazon Fire TV Stick, Smart TVs and more are also on sale today

We keep on getting some amazing deals, and once again, thanks to Amazon. First, we will kick off this deal selection with a couple of devices that will make your regular TV into a full fledged Smart TV for just a fraction of the price. Amazon’s Fire TV Cube is currently getting a $15 discount, which leaves it at $105. This hands-free streaming device with Alexa is the fastest and most powerful Fire TV streaming device. It is compatible with your soundbar and A/V receiver, at the same time that it provides instant access to 4K Ultra HD content, plus support for Dolby Vision and HDR and HDR10+.

Now, a more affordable option to stream 4K content to your TV is the Fire TV Stick 4K streaming device with Alexa Voice Remote, which is currently selling for $40 after a $10 discount, or get the HD version for $30 with the same $10 savings.

Next up, we head over to the smart speaker section, as the fourth-generation Amazon Echo is also getting a $10 discount, which leaves it at $90 in any of its three color variants. The smaller Echo Dot is up for grabs at $45, which translates to $5 savings, or you can also get the Echo Dot with a built-in clock for $55 with the same $5 discount. However, the Amazon Echo Show 5 is the device that lets you save the most, as you can get one for $45 after a $45 discount.

Moving on to Smart TVs, we find Samsung’s 55-inch Class QLED Q70T Series 4K UHD Dual LED Quantum HDR Smart TV with Alexa built-in for $798 after a $202 discount. However, you can also go for the larger 65-inch model, as it’s getting the same discount, leaving it at $1,098. Suppose you’re looking for more affordable options. In that case, we have a couple of Fire TVs available, as the 43-inch Insignia 4K UHD Smart TV is getting a $50, meaning that you can get one for just $250, or get Toshiba’s 32-inch offering for $150 after a $30 discount. Finally, the Hisense 40-inch Class H4 Series LED Roku Smart TV is currently going for $2210 with $20 savings.

Amazon offers sneak peek at Black Friday deals to come on Fire and Echo gear

As always, you can probably rest assured knowing Amazon will not be mixing business with… its other business this holiday season, no doubt cooking up some of the best Black Friday deals around on both in-house and third-party products.

But also as always, expect Amazon’s homebrewed gadgets to receive the lion’s share of advertising in the two weeks leading up to the year’s busiest shopping day, as well as privileged spots on promotional banners and whatnot come November 25.

Make that November 24, as the already dirt-cheap Fire 7 tablet is apparently supposed to drop from its $50 MSRP to $33.33 on Thanksgiving Day. The same goes for the 7-incher’s slightly bigger, higher-end Fire HD 8 brother, slated to cost $60 after a $30 markdown on Black Friday 2016’s eve, while the “all-new” Fire TV Stick with Alexa voice remote shall take a $10 dive to $29.99.

Also on November 24, look for a heavily discounted “full-sized” Echo smart speaker setting you back $140 instead of $180, as well as a diminutive $40 Echo Dot ($10 off). Four days earlier, the Kindle Paperwhite e-reader will go down from $120 to $100, desperately trying to stay in the spotlight as even tablets near obsolescence.

All in all, nothing earth-shattering here, especially after Best Buy, Walmart or Target’s BF previews, but this is merely a taste of a looming Amazon.com bargain feast.

Samsung Galaxy S7 and iPhone 7 headline Target’s massive list of Black Friday deals

Following in an arch-rival’s footsteps, America’s second-largest discount retailer has just willingly unveiled its fast-approaching Black Friday 2016 deal bonanza, and while we can’t help but notice a few similarities to what Staples has in the pipeline, Target will cater to a much wider range of bargain hunters.

Without further ado, we’d like to direct your attention to several mobile and wearable must-buys available at their lowest prices in deeply limited quantities starting Thanksgiving Day.

Target lends Samsung a hand with its Note 7 recovery efforts by shining the spotlight on the Korean company’s top replacements. Both the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge activated on Verizon, AT&T or Sprint are to hook you up with free $250 gift cards, Gear VR headsets, and $50 worth of Oculus content.

Meanwhile, the hot new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus on the same three carriers will net you “just” complimentary $250 coupons, though you’ll be able to save good money on some other Apple products too.

Namely, the iPad mini 2, Air 2, Pro 9.7, all Apple TV models still around, Apple Watch Series 1, and yes, even the Series 2. If you want a cheaper wearable, look for the $50 Garmin Vivofit Jr., $60 Vivofit 3, $120 Vivosmart HR+, $90 Fitbit Charge HR, $100 Alta, or $130 Charge 2. Last but not least, don’t forget about obligatory markdowns on latest-generation Chromecast and Fire TV Stick media streamers.

AT&T DirecTV Now streaming service will reportedly launch with free Apple TV or Fire TV Stick

As digital media player competition heats up with new Google, Amazon, Roku and Xiaomi releases, plus an inevitable 4K Apple TV upgrade coming sooner or later, you can bet the farm on some irresistible Black Friday 2016 Fire TV or Chromecast deals.

But not even Staples will be able to hook you up with a discounted fourth-gen Apple TV or a free Amazon Fire TV Stick. If you’re in the market for one of those two, it might therefore be wise to wait until AT&T finally launches its VOD service, dubbed DirecTV Now, sometime by the end of the year.

According to very credible inside information, a one-month $35 subscription to Ma Bell’s Netflix and Hulu challenger will score you a complimentary Fire TV Stick, while paying for 90 days of ad-free TV content in advance could waive the regular $150 extra costs of an Apple TV set-top box.

It sounds like an extraordinarily compelling introductory offer sans other strings attached, seeing as how you’ll probably be able to cancel your DirecTV Now membership after your initial 30 or 90 days. It’s almost too good to be true, so let’s wait for AT&T’s confirmation, fine print, as well as details on channels included in the $35 base package.

We already know HBO, Cinemax and other “premium” networks will cost extra, and oddly enough, it seems certain programming, like local NBC channels, can only be streamed on smartphones, tablets and PCs, and not also HDMI dongles or microconsoles.

Staples has solid Black Friday deals on Amazon gear, Surface Pro 4 and more in the pipeline

And so it begins. The first major US retailer to voluntarily reveal its upcoming Black Friday deal bonanza is Staples, with special online sales scheduled to start Thursday, November 24, followed by the typical brick and mortar store stampede at 6 am on Friday the 25th.

Supplies will obviously be limited, customers can only buy one unit of each heavily discounted item, and if you prefer, you can order on the web during your festive Thanksgiving dinner, then swing by a physical location for in-person pickup anytime on Friday.

You’re looking at countless marked-down PCs, laptops, monitors, printers, accessories, and even office chairs here, but as far as our mobile-focused readership is concerned, possibly the most compelling BF 2016 bargains are to include $33.33 Amazon Fire 7 and $80 Fire HD 8 tablets.

A $100 Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7.0 or $130 Tab A 8.0, reduced from their regular list prices of $150 and $200 respectively, don’t sound half bad either. And then you have the convertible Surface Pro 4 Windows 10 machine Microsoft just “forgot” to upgrade, due for a hefty $200 rebate off its $1,000 MSRP with a Core i5 processor, 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD in tow.

Finally, Staples intends to allow you to liven up the living room by paying very little for the Amazon Echo Dot smart speaker ($40 instead of $50), Fire TV Stick ($30 instead of $40), or second-gen Google Chromecast ($25, not $35).
