Pixel 5 is Google’s latest smartphone, but this one avoids the flagship price tag by opting for a mid-range processor while retaining the signature software experience and some great cameras. Talking about cameras, Google has finally added an ultra-wide camera to its smartphone and the results it produces have been acclaimed widely.

These are some of the best Apple deals for Black Friday

Alright, we’ve decided that this deals segment needs to grow when the demand calls for it, and come on, it’s Black Friday week. Since today we’re talking Apple for the hottest news, let’s begin with Apple deals. Like yesterday, we’re gonna start this off with trade-in deals first, as you can currently get the iPhone 12 Pro for $370 off, if you have an eligible device, leaving the entry level model for $629. The 12 Pro Max is getting the same treatment, leaving that at $729. Moving on to Macs, the Intel 13in MacBook Pro is $150 off, leaving the Intel Core i5, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD variant for $1649. Again these are Intel models which is kind of a bummer but they’re still good machines. Now, iPads! The 11in iPad Pro, Wi-Fi only model with 512GB of storage is available for $100 off, leaving it at $999. The latest iPad Air is also $40 off, that leaves the entry level variant for $559. And guys, this segment is already pretty long so we have more deals on other Macs, other iPads, the Apple Watch and even some Beats products in the links in the description.

These are the best Samsung deals for Black Friday

Oh, that was just Apple’s section. For all you Samsung fans, This is a quick reminder of the deals they continue to have, which make it really compelling to get their latest devices. Just keep in mind that these deals depend on you having an eligible device to trade in. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 is available for the same $1000 we mentioned yesterday, but now in both color options and the customizable hinge. The Note 20 Ultra is available for $550 and the regular Note 20 for a crazy $250. Moving on to the S Series, you can get the S20 for $390, the S20+ for $540 and the Ultra for $740, might makes them a tough pick given the crazy deal for the Note 20 Ultra. To end with Samsung, you can also get the S20 FE for $140 so, again, all these deals apply if you have an eligible device to trade in. Sticking to Samsung and their trade-ins, the Galaxy Watch 3 is also available for $140 and the Titanium version is available for $300. Pretty much half of for both of them. We also have deals on the Galaxy Buds, the Watch Active 2 and more in the description.

Black Friday gives us Motorola, Google and more Samsung deals

And no worries, we’re not done. That was just the Apple and Samsung section for today’s deals, We’ve got more on other companies as well.. Let’s move on to Google smart speakers, for example the Nest Hub is $40 off, leaving it at $50 shipped. The Home Max is $150 off, leaving it at $149. They also have some bundles like the Nest Audio 2 pack for $30 off, leaving it at $170. Moving on to Moto, the RAZR 5G is $400 off, leaving it at $1000 shipped. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip successor might rock a 120Hz display and slimmer bezels

Fine, let’s now move on to news. If you tuned in yesterday, one of the things we talked about is that we would be getting the next Galaxy Z Flip, later than the Galaxy S21 unlike last year where we got them at the same event. Well, according to some new reports from the Elec this phone was actually delayed, mainly to push production for the Galaxy S21 and because of what we covered yesterday which said that Samsung doesn’t want new products to mess with their regular sales as the Galaxy Note might disappear. The report also adds that Samsung might launch anywhere between three to five foldables next year, maybe they’re adding more phones to each line-up with different price points. On another note (pun intended), a new leak from Ice Universe says that this phone will actually be called the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and it will bring an improved 120Hz display, narrower bezels and it will get a cheaper price tag. Now, we don’t actually know how cheaper yet but, if they really want this strategy to succeed, they should at least price this and the Z Fold 3, somewhat closer to the Note’s price point.

We have new images of the Samsung Galaxy S21 or the Galaxy S21+

And yes, let’s keep talking about Samsung but this time for the Galaxy S21 and I guess you can say we’re in the home stretch when it comes to leaks for this phone. We have some new case renders for either the S21 or the S21+ telling by this design. They show the flat display which will either be 6.2in or 6.7in depending on the variant, both rocking 120Hz display rates at FHD+, kind of a downgrade when compared to the S20. At the back you can also see the camera array which is significantly smaller than the Ultra’s rocking three cameras which consist of a 12MP main sensor, a 64MP telephoto and a 12MP ultra wide. A while ago we also had other case renders for the Ultra but we didn’t do a daily that day and, the thing about it is that all we can see is the camera array and not the display. We’re expecting an event to happen sometime around January 14 so let’s see, things should only get more interesting from here.

                                      Story of the day:

Redesigned MacBooks with Apple silicon are coming in H2 2021: Kuo

And finally the hottest news today have to do with Apple, the fact that we still can’t believe how good those M1 MacBooks are, and yet why you might wanna wait a little to buy. I mean sure, Cupertino just unveiled these new batch of computers, but the concerns of many are valid, they seriously look like the old ones in every way. It would make sense for anyone to want a re-design, and we also wonder what the next batch of Apple Silicon chips is gonna be able to do. Well, according to a new research note from Ming Chi Kuo, the next step in Apple’s two year transition away from Intel is redesigned MacBooks. Now, he didn’t really specify which models we’re getting, but he has previously said that we should expect a redesigned 16in and a 14in MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon that should launch in the second or third quarter of 2021. Based on other Kuo reports, we should also expect some new miniLED Macs and a lower priced iPad in the first quarters of the year. Now, when it comes to sales, he predicts that the demand for these M1 Macs is actually higher than expected, and the 12 Pro and Pro Max are actually stealing the show when it comes to iPhones as the demand for the regular 12 and the Mini is not as high. Finally, both Apple Watches are selling well thanks to the new health management functions and the improved design.

NVIDIA’s game streaming service arrives on iOS, Google’s Stadia is next in line

When it comes to cloud-based game streaming services, Apple has so far not allowed the likes of Google’s Stadia, Microsoft’s xCloud and NVIDIA’s GeForce Now on the App Store due to certain policies. However, it appears that users in the iOS ecosystem can finally enjoy the perks of cloud-based game streaming, starting with NVIDIA’s GeForce Now. That particular solution is called a web app.

NVIDIA has today announced that it is launching a web app for its GeForce Now game streaming service that will work on iPhones and iPads via the Safari browser. Starting today, iPhone and iPad users can enjoy NVIDIA’s GeForce Now game streaming service by visiting play.geforce.now.com via Safari browser. However, you need to have a compatible controller such as Razer’s Kishi to play a game via cloud on your iPhone or iPad. Do keep in mind the GeForce Now web app is currently in the beta testing phase for iOS.

While that is definitely good news, there is more in tow. Google has today announced that it will begin testing a progressive web app for Stadia on iOS in the coming weeks. “This will be the first phase of our iOS progressive Web application. As we test performance and add more features, your feedback will help us improve the Stadia experience for everyone. You can expect this feature to begin rolling out several weeks from now,” the company said in a statement.

However, the company is yet to share a concrete launch date or additional technical details of the Stadia PWA (Progressive Web App) for iOS. Google’s announcement coincides with the 1-year anniversary of Stadia’s debut. In a separate blog post, the company also revealed Stadia users who purchase Cyberpunk 2077 before December will get Stadia Premiere Edition as a freebie.

However, it appears that the circle of all three major games streaming services – Stadia, xCloud, and GeForce Now – will soon be complete on iOS, despite their inability to exists as a functional app on the App Store. Last month, Xbox chief Phil Spencer reportedly told employees that Microsoft also plans to bring xCloud to iPhones and iPads through a “direct browser-based solution.” Microsoft’s approach sounds similar to what NVIDIA and Google are doing with their respective cloud-based game streaming services.

HUAWEI lands Dystopia: Contest of Heroes for an exclusive debut on AppGallery

HUAWEI has lately upped the ante when it comes to AppGallery, bringing more high-profile apps to its app repository, launching multiple initiatives to support developers, and expanding its reach at both local and global scale. Moving forward in the same direction,  HUAWEI has announced that it has collaborated with game development studio Beetroot Lab to launch the game Dystopia: Contest of Heroes exclusively on AppGallery for a worldwide debut. In doing so, HUAWEI has managed to offer the game exclusively to its own ecosystem of AppGallery users prior to its arrival on Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store.

You can choose between multiple characters own unique abilities and duke it out in online battles.

Talking about the game, Dystopia: Contest of Heroes is a free-to-play, multiplayer combat game set in a post-apocalyptic world with cyberpunk styling and eye-catching graphics. You get to choose between a wide selection of customizable 3D characters – each with their own unique ability – to build alliances, raid locations and build an empire. Aside from multiplayer battles and the main campaign story, there will also be multiple in-game tournaments where you can even play as famed mixed martial artist Conor McGregor. The game is set in a dystopian New York of 2065 and has reportedly been in development for almost three years before its debut on the AppGallery.

                                      What’s the strategy here?

“The benefit of launching a game on AppGallery first is that we will put the full force of our considerable marketing machine behind the game to boost its profile and quickly encourage downloads,” Wang Heng, Vice President of Global Partnerships and Eco-Development at Huawei Consumer Business Group (CEE and Nordics) was quoted as saying regarding the partnership. The goal is to build a dedicated base of Dystopia: Contest of Heroes players and promote it across HUAWEI’s own mobile ecosystem before it debuts on other app repositories and the competition for player base and revenue heats up.

                                      Dystopia Contest of Heroes characters

A success story originating from this strategy was New Zealand, where the game was soft-launched recently and reaped positive results. HUAWEI notes that 7% of users who installed Dystopia: Contest of Heroes were still playing it after 28 days, while the conversion rate to paid users touched the 5% mark in Tier 1 cities.

Aside from providing technical support to Beetroot Labs in bringing the game over to AppGallery – which involved making everything from the sign-in experience to in-app purchases smoother for users using dedicated software kits – HUAWEI is also marketing the game heavily via multiple touchpoints in its software ecosystem. If you own a HUAWEI or HONOR smartphone with AppGallery on it, you can download Dystopia: Contest of Heroes from the app repository here and read more details about the game on the official Dystopia website.

PUBG Mobile to make a comeback in India

In September, India banned PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite citing threats to the privacy of users and security of the nation. These games are owned by China’s Tencent and were said to engage “in activities that are prejudicial to the sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India, the security of the state and public order.” However, in a recent turn of events, PUBG Mobile is making a comeback in India.

PUBG Corporation has announced it is preparing to launch a new game called ‘PUBG Mobile India’. It says this game is “created specifically for the Indian market.” The developers added that they will improve in-game content and also customize it to “reflect local needs.” These changes include clothing on new characters, a virtual simulation training ground setting, and green hit effects instead of red. Further, it will also add a feature to restrict game time for younger players.

The corporation has announced this new game will maximize data security for its players and adhere to the local regulations by conducting regular audits and verifications on the storage systems that store the personal information of Indian users. This will be done in order to make sure that the data is kept safe.

PUBG Corporation also said that it is planning to establish a local office. It will hire over 100 employees to enhance communications and services with players. “In addition to establishing a local office, the company will look to actively collaborate and leverage local businesses to strengthen its gaming service,” the developers added. Furthermore, Krafton, PUBG Corporation’s parent company announced its plans to invest $100 million in India. This will be done to “cultivate the local video game, e-sports, entertainment, and IT industries.” However, there is no exact release date for PUBG Mobile India yet.

The official news today begin with deals, and you know today is mainly going to be an “Apple” Show, so what kind of a host would I be if we didn’t begin with Apple deals. The latest iPad Air is already $50 off, that leaves the Wi-Fi only, 256GB of storage variant at $699. The iPad Mini is also $166 off, that leaves the 256GB variant for $512 shipped. AT&T also has this deal where you can get an iPhone 12 Mini for free if you trade in a device and of course, get a pretty long installment plan. The regular Galaxy Note 20 is also $200 off, that leaves the entry level, US model for $799. We also have more deals on iPad Pros, the Galaxy Watch and more in the links in the description, as well as the full list over at Pocketnow.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra could feature a new 108MP camera and 120Hz at 2K

And, don’t worry, we won’t talk Apple all day. Let’s talk about Samsung for a minute as, we’re getting closer to the rumored launch date which is slated for January. According to some Ice Universe tweets, the Galaxy S21 Ultra will be a small, improved version of the S20 Ultra. When it comes to the cameras, they´ll be using the 108MP HM3 sensor, with single pixels at 0.8 microns, laser autofocus and no time of flight. Meaning some of those lenses we saw on the renders are still a mystery and this also allows them to give us much better autofocus. Moving on to the display, a different tweet claims that we´ll be getting a 2K display running at 120Hz. We’ll keep you posted as, rumors should only keep getting better as we get close to December.

Apple unveils its first in-house silicon: Meet the M1 chip for Macs of the future

But alright, let’s move on to why you’re here, the Apple Event. Apple had their One More Thing Event today which was all about Apple Silicon Macs. The company started the event by announcing their new M1 chip, which is based on a 5nm process and packs 16B transistors. I know, 26 letters in the alphabet and they pick the one for their motion co-processors. This SoC packs 8 cores with 4 performance cores and 4 high efficiency cores. According to Apple, the 4 performance cores are the fastest and they actually deliver the best performance per watt in the industry which we’ll talk about in a second. You’re also getting an integrated GPU which “is the world’s fastest”. This GPU also packs 8 cores along with 128 execution units. This means that it should deliver 2x more graphics at half the wattage. We’re also getting a new 16 core Neural Engine, which you guessed it, is the fastest in the industry. Other components include Thunderbolt and USB 4 support, a better audio processor and more. Cupertino is promising blazing fast performance without compromising power efficiency and battery life, oh and it also let’s you natively run iPhone and iPad Apps on your Mac. These Macs should be significantly faster than their predecessors, but let’s talk about them.

Apple announces Mac mini refresh with in-house M1 chip

Let’s begin with the first one, which we kind of got a hint to at WWDC. The new Mac mini brings the same 7.7in squared design but, it’s now powered by the new M1 Chip. That means you’re getting all of the bells and whistles we described in the previous segment along with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 2TB of storage. The new SoC allows for the Mac Mini to do things like support two displays, one with up to 6K at 60Hz via thunderbolt and one up to 4K at 60Hz via HDMI. So yeah, you can fully use the Pro Display XDR but, it seems kind weird to get a Pro Display XDR for a Mac Mini, considering the stand is more expensive than the computer. The M1 will give this computer a 3x faster performance over its predecessor, Final Cut now has 3.4x faster ProRes transcode and 6.6x faster timeline render performance. Logic Pro and other heavy apps like Photoshop are also getting a boost. It’s also getting cheaper, starting at $699, with pre-orders beginning today.

Apple’s new MacBook Air with the M1 chip has a fanless design and starts at $999

Now probably the update that I was looking forward to most was Apple’s new MacBook Air, powered by the M1. It brings the same slim design so, all of the upgrades are really under the hood. Beginning with the fact that this is a fan-less design thanks to the M1 chip. According to Cupertino, this MacBook Air has a 3.5x higher performance when compared to the previous Air, and it also delivers a 5x boost in graphics. This translates to letting you edit multiple 4K video streams at once, as well as a boost in gaming performance. The company is also promising 15 hours of wireless web browsing and 18 hours of video playback when it comes to battery life. They’re also improving your video conferences by making the battery last twice as long when you’re in video calls, and it brings a better camera which is also thanks to the M1 chip. The new Retina Display now supports a P3 Color Gamut, it also brings secure enclave Touch ID, a new SSD which delivers 2x faster performance, and a crazy 9x faster machine learning. Some of the new improvements promise up to 3x faster exports in iMovie, 2x faster Lightroom exports and 5x faster 3D effects in Final Cut. This new MacBook Air starts at the same $999and is also available for pre-orders today and shipping next week.

                                      Story of the day:

New 13-inch MacBook Pro with new Apple Silicon is jaw dropping

But finally, the hottest news today have to do with a refresh to the computer that started this show off. I didn’t think Apple was gonna refresh a pro computer with the M1, but it did with the 13-inch MacBook Pro.. Sort of. This is the entry level – two Thunderbolt port variant, no the higher tier. For starters, it promises a 3x faster performance, 5x faster graphics, and 11x faster machine learning with the 16 core Neural Engine. It also packs a new active cooling system to ensure better performance. The display delivers 500 nits of brilliance, 25% more colors and True Tone technology to adjust to its environment. When it comes to the battery, Apple is promising a crazy 20 hours of video playback, and 17 hours of wireless web browsing. Other hardware improvements include studio-quality mics to improve noise ratio, and a camera that delivers sharper video with less noise. It includes two Thunderbolt 3 ports that support USB 4, and thanks to Big Sur it features Secure Enclave, which brings features like Activation Lock to protect your Mac if it gets stolen. This new MacBook Pro will start at $1299 and is currently available for purchase, they’ll arrive in about a week. Oh and macOS Big Sur will FINALLY be available in two days.
