Samsung launches new Galaxy Note 4 with tri-band LTE-A

For the past few weeks now, we’ve been hearing rumors about something new from Samsung and its Galaxy Note 4. From the looks of things, the manufacturer was testing a new Note 4 variant powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chip, unlike the 805 in the non-Exynos version of the existing phablet. Would we see the release of an updated version of the Note 4’s hardware, just like Samsung delivered for handsets like the Galaxy S4 and S5 in the past? Well, that SoC question is still up in the ...

iPhone 6 to include support for LTE Advanced?

Apple hasn’t necessarily done the best job in pushing the latest and greatest cellular technology to its iPhones on time. AT&T starts offering high-speed LTE-Advanced network; how can you access it?

Last year, we started seeing some of the first smartphones arrive with support for next-gen LTE-Advanced networks, like when Samsung introduced that special LTE-A version of the Galaxy S 4, running a Snapdragon 800, for use on such networks in South Korea. Today we start to hear about that changing, as AT&T switches-on some LTE-Advanced functionality ...

The Galaxy Note 3 may be the Snapdragon-800-powered Samsung that’s on our minds at the moment, but it won’t be the first time the manufacturer went down that route; earlier this summer, we learned about the LTE-Advanced version of the Galaxy S 4, which stepped up from the Snapdragon 600 in the base LTE GS4 to an 800 of its own. Since then, we’ve wondered if similar hardware would emerge outside of Asia, and heard rumors about possible ...
