Don’t expect the Samsung Galaxy S21 to come with a power adapter

If there’s one company famous for mocking Apple’s decisions is Samsung. The Korean tech giant has made fun of Cupertino’s decision to get rid of headphone jacks, for the creation of the notch, and not so long ago. It also made fun of Apple for removing power adapters and wired earphones with their latest delivery. Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean that Samsung walked a different path. Sammy also ditched the headphone jack. It gave us an Infinity-O display with a punch-hole selfie camera, which may be just as annoying as the notch for some. And now, it may also get rid of the power adapter and earphones with the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S21 series.

Well, it seems that Samsung fans won’t find a power adapter or wired earphones in the box of the new Samsung Galaxy S21. Rumors have been mentioning the possibility of this happening for quite a while now, and it seems that we may see Sammy following on Apple’s controversial steps, once again.

We saw several posts from official Samsung pages saying that ‘Our Galaxy phone can provide you with everything you need, from the basic charger to the best camera, battery, performance, and memory.’ This led us to believe that Samsung wasn’t going to remove in-the-box accessories anytime soon, but we were mistaken. The company has already deleted Facebook posts making fun of Apple, which could give us a better idea of the company’s intentions.

Whatever the case, it seems that we won’t have to wait that long to see if Samsung decides to ‘go green’ like Apple since the Samsung Galaxy S21 series is expected to launch early next year. Some even dare to say that the launch event may take place on January 14, which would be just two days after the presentation of the new Exynos chipset, which could be the new Exynos 2100.

Samsung takes it against Apple for ditching power adapters after iPhone 12 launch

Apple went through with its plans to remove power adapters and wired EarPods with the arrival of the latest iPhone 12 lineup, as it claims that this is the best alternative for the planet, not because they are trying to cut costs. They didn’t stop there, as we also know that the latest iPhone SE, last year’s iPhone 11, and iPhone XR are now also selling without a power adapter and earbuds in the box. This decision hasn’t been passed by the competition to mock Cupertino and put their devices in the spotlight.

😎😎Your #Galaxy does give you what you are looking for. From the most basic as a charger, to the best camera, battery, performance, memory and even 120Hz screen ✌ on a smartphone. 😎😎

Samsung has recently posted a couple of images on Samsung and Twitter, mocking Apple’s decision to remove power adapters and earphones from the boxes of their new iPhone 12 lineup and other iPhone models. One of the first images was found on Samsung’s Facebook page, where they posted a power adapter and a message that read “Included with your Galaxy.”

Apple claims that removing power adapters and earphones with iPhone purchases will let the company “cut down on carbon emissions both through the elimination of the accessories and through the smaller box size iPhones now use.”

Of course, speculation claims that Apple’s real reason is far from environmental reasons, as the accessories may have been removed to cut costs due to the new 5G modem used in the latest iPhone. So, removing those accessories from previous iPhone models would be just an extra boost for Apple sales, as they are still selling power adapters and wired earphones in its Store.

Samsung is also making fun of the fact that iPhones have just managed to include 5G into their devices, while Samsung’s flagships have had this feature since early 2019. And let’s not forget 120Hz displays, which are also missing from the iPhone 12 lineup, but rumors suggest that we may get them in next year’s iPhone 13.

Whatever the case, we don’t believe that Samsung has the right to mock Apple on decisions that may also be taken by the South Korean company in the upcoming years. Let’s remember that Samsung already mocked Apple when it removed the headphone jack or when it started using the notch, but in the end, most OEMs followed Apple’s steps. Samsung has even been rumored to be planning on removing power adapters from its future devices; however, it is honest as to the real reasons behind this possible change.

Apple wants to know what you do with “in the box” iPhone chargers

Recent rumors suggest that Apple may want to give us a new iPhone12 series without EarPods or a power adapter in the box. Some leakers have even claimed that the new box would be thinner, and more exquisite since it won’t need the extra space. Now, Apple may also want to hear its users before making a final decision.

It seems that Apple has started a survey to know what people do with the 5W chargers that are included with the purchase of every iPhone. The survey contains several options for users to choose from, which include:
I sold or traded it with my iPhone
I lost it
I gave it to a family member or friend
I still use it at home
I still use it outside (at work, school, or other places)
I still have it, but I don’t use it
This survey was shared by Twitter user @Gunstaxl, where he says, “Apple survey that I received by email. Multiple questions about how I use the charger! Will we have an iPhone without a charger in the box?”

The survey hasn’t reached every Apple user, or at least not yet. But what about you? What do you do with the 5W power adapter that comes with your iPhone?
