Realme’s new C12 and C15 budget smartphones pack a ginormous 6,000mAh battery

OPPO spin-off Realme has today launched a pair of new budget smartphones in India – the Realme C12 and Realme C15. The two new Realme C-series devices share a lot of traits such as a huge 6,000mAh battery, MediaTek’s Helio G35 SoC, and a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop notch at the top. The Realme C15, however, also brings 18W fast charging support to the table and also packs more powerful camera hardware.

The Realme C12’s triple rear camera setup includes a 13MP primary snapper, assisted by a 2MP monochrome lens and a 2MP macro shooter. The quad-camera array on the Realme C15 comprises of a 13MP main snapper, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP monochrome sensor, and a 2MP retro camera that helps in capturing artistic portrait mode shots. Realme C12 packs a 5MP selfie camera, while the Realme C15 offers an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls.

Price and availability

The Realme C12 will set buyers back by Rs. 8,999 and will go on sale starting August 24th via the company’s official website and Flipkart, while brick-and-mortar stores will have it August 31st onward. As for the Realme C15, it starts at Rs. 9,999 and will be up for grabs from Flipkart and Realme.com on August 27th, while retail stores will sell it starting September 3rd across the country. Both the phones come in Power Blue and Power Silver colors with a gradient finish on the rear panel.

As previously reported, Realme is all set to launch two new C-series smartphones today, August 18 at 12:30 PM. The company will be hosting a digital event that will be livestreamed on the Realme India website, as well as on its official YouTube channel. You can watch the livestream below.

The Realme C15 features a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with a mini-drop notch, which supports HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and 20:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by Helio G35 SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. It supports 18W fast charging and runs Android 10 based on Realme UI. It sports a quad rear camera setup of 13MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP and an 8MP selfie shooter.

In contrast, the Realme C12 is expected to come equipped with a 6.5-inch IPS LCD HD+ display, Helio P35 chipset, and 3 GB of RAM. It is likely to run Android 10 as well. It could pack a 6,000mAh battery with support for a downgraded 10W charging. Further, it is likely to be placed between Realme C15 and Realme C11 in the market.

Realme to launch more C-series phones in India; could be the Realme C15 & C12

Realme is all set to introduce new Realme C-series smartphones in India. The company teased thre arrival with a tweet. While the phone names have not been revealed, it is expected to launch the Realme C15 and Realmce C12 in India. They are believed to have Realme RMX2189 and RMX2180 model numbers that have recently received approval from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
