Glass class of 2017: all-glass LG G6 rumored, headphone jack stays in

It’s already enough that Samsung, the world’s biggest smartphone manufacturer, already plasters panes of glass together for its smartphones. Apple might demand a design that will see at least one of its iPhone 8 models look like Samsung’s. Now, we have to talk about LG.

Yes, even the LG G6 will be going all-glass for its chassis, a source tells Android Police‘s managing editor, David Ruddock.

In a tweet, Ruddock also affirms prior chatter that the battery will be embedded into the device — a step away from LG G-series protocol — and with it, the Friends modular accessories system. Amazingly, the headphone jack will be staying put. At least that sets the phone apart from the iPhone 7 and, we now believe, the Galaxy S8.

Mulling other rumors, we also may expect an iris-scanning selfie camera, MST mobile payments a la Samsung Pay and some level of waterproofing.

No small feat. And the crazy part is, we still don’t even know why. Speculation has run rampant that this has ...

The Galaxy Alpha and Note 4: proof positive that removable batteries don’t have to make your phone ugly

When it comes to cellular phones, removable batteries are nothing new, even the very earliest phones had a battery that you could remove and replace. Historically, this was more a necessity than a convenience. Until the last few years, battery technology suffered from various limitations that necessitated their ability to be removed and replaced fairly frequently. For their size, energy capacity wasn’t all that great. Charge times were slow, and discharge rates were fast. Over the years, these batteries even developed a “memory” that reduced their capacity due to the ...

Samsung makes a case for the removable battery at Lollapalooza in Chicago

You can’t have passion without some amount of preference. But that preference is channeled into useful and constructive criticism and praise which makes us the phone ninjas you read every day. But every now and then, something comes across the feeds ...
