Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2, Apple’s latest iPad Pro and more on sale today

And let’s begin the week with deals as we usually do, but this time let’s just say Samsung is the most interesting offering. The company’s Black Friday sale is in full effect, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is currently available for just $1000 but, hold your horses, you have to trade in an eligible device. Actually many of these deals require a trade-in to sweeten the pot. For example, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is available for a crazy $550, the regular Note 20 for $250 and the S20 FE for $140. Seriously, if you’re looking for a new phone, go check these deals out! Moving on to your usual set of Apple deals, the 12.9in iPad Pro is $100 off, leaving the Wi-Fi only and 128GB of storage model for $900. Finally, the OnePlus 8 Pro is available for $100 off, leaving it at $799 for 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. We have more deals on the Pixel 5, OnePlus 7T, more iPads and even more in the links in the description.

Snapchat ‘Spotlight’ is yet another TikTok rival

And let’s be honest, Snapchat may be my least favorite service ever, but it’s probably the most copied service we’ve ever seen as. Look at Instagram stories, Whatsapp, Facebook, and even Twitter now with Fleets. Well, it looks like now they’re doing it to someone else. The company just launched a new feature called “Spotlight” which is basically made to compete with TikTok and Instagram’s “Reels” but, Snapchat’s got a trick up their sleeve. So, Spotlight let’s users showcase their 60 second videos which are focused on memes and jokes rather than your day to day life like stories where meant to. For the viewer, it will pretty much work like TikTok where the algorithm shows you content related to what you’ve seen in the past. The thing about it is that Snapchat will be paying creators to post on the platform, they will award $1M between the most popular creators on the app per day through the end of this year so, if you have a viral video you might get a piece of the $1M. Spotlight is currently launching to 11 countries so, if that’s your thing go check it out. Let’s hope this algorythm finally fixes their lack of good discovery.

New M1 MacBook Air has been found with 128GB for just $799

Let’s move on to Apple Silicon Macs as yes, Apple did end up making at least one of them more affordable, but there’s a catch. The latest M1 MacBook Air was spotted in Apple’s US Education Institute Hardware and Software list and it’s actually cheaper. This was found on Reddit and this is the regular 8-core CPU and 7-core GPU MacBook Air, with 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM for $799. The thing about it is that, this is strictly for education purposes so, if you work or study at a school that purchases these then you might get your hands on one but, it looks like that might be the only way. This is not a variant that consumers can buy in a store. And on another note, Craig Federighi, aka Mr Wiggle Mode himself, went on an interview and talked about M1 Macs running windows. Please stop trying to run Parallels on them. He claims that Windows could run on these Macs but it’s really up to Microsoft. Thing is since this version of Windows on ARM is emulated, who knows if that will happen. Can any of you imagine Windows running on these ARM chips like a champ?

iPad Pro to get OLED displays after adopting mini-LED in early 2021: Report

And since we’re talking Apple, let’s discuss their future plans for iPads, especially when it comes to the display technology they’re using. We’ve been covering rumors of miniLED iPads for years, but now according to a new report from The Elec, Cupertino is finally planning to adopt OLED displays for the iPad Pro line up. It seems there will be a wait, though, as we know that Apple is working on the transition to miniLED displays for Q1 of next year. The report claims that OLED displays on these will actualy happen shortly after, meaning also within 2021. These displays would be provided by Samsung but, it also says that the adoption of OLED could be delayed, depending on the scale of adoption of miniLED. Again, these miniLED displays are slated for Q1 while OLEDs should come later. This means that Apple might really just upgrade their current LCDs to miniLED and then eventually move on to OLED at least when it comes to iPads because, we know that miniLEDs should be a huge thing for Macs. Whatever the case may be, this might be what will differentiate the next generation of iPads and Macs in 2021, and let’s hope that enables new designs.

OnePlus 9 might sport two 48MP camera sensors

OnePlus 9 Pro leak gives us our first look at its design prior to a March 2021 debut

Now how about if we shift focus to Android and particularly the OnePlus 9 as, we’re expecting this phone to launch a little earlier than usual so the rumors are starting to intensify. Beginning with the regular variant, last week we got some CAD renders for it showing a new white color variant and a triple camera array. Now, we have a new leak from 91Mobiles that claims that the two main cameras from these renders are two 48MP sensors. This means we’ll get a 48MP primary that delivers 12MP images, as well as a 48MP ultra wide. The third and smaller lens would be a macro or monochrome sensor in typical OnePlus fashion. Now, moving on to the Pro variant, we have some new CAD renders from OnLeaks showing off the design changes. From these we can see some smaller bezels, a “Pacific Blue” colorway if you know what I mean, and the new camera array which is pretty similar to the one on the 8T. The 9 Pro is expected to bring a 6.7in display, probably running at up to 144Hz and it will be powered by the Snapdragon 875, or whatever the latest Qualcomm chip will be called. We’ll keep you posted as it’s expected to come some time in March, and I seriously wonder what is it with companies wanting to launch phones earlier next year.

Story of the day:

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 might launch sooner than expected

And finally the hottest news today have to do with Samsung, and how the company plans to re-imagine their approach to flagships in 2021. We’ve covered the possibility of the Galaxy Note lineup saying goodbye, and today we get more credible information that goes beyond not seeing it in a listing. According to a new report from Korea, we might be getting this phone earlier the Galaxy Z Fold 3 earlier in 2021. The report suggests that Samsung is already working on this phone and it could possibly launch in June 2021. The report also mentions that this foldable could have support for the S-Pen like we’ve heard before. It also reiterates on the report we covered last week, that claims that we’re getting an under the display selfie shooter, even if we were expecting that until Q3. It also adds that Sammy was able to add an in-screen WACOM digitizer but, they still faced some difficulties with the protective layer which scratches with the S Pen but it’s sounding like they were able to fix it, maybe thanks to the new UTG we’re expecting. With all of the reports on the missing Galaxy Note 21, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra supporting an S Pen, it looks like Samsung is about to re-invent it’s approach to its second batch of product launches.

Samsung Galaxy S21 has received BIS certification

November is almost over, meaning that we are getting closer to the end of 2020. This also means that we are getting closer to the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy S21 series. Samsung’s new flagship is rumored to become official in less than two months, and it seems that the company has started to get the necessary certifications ready for the possible launch on January 14.

The new Samsung Galaxy S21 has recently been certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in India. This certification makes us believe that Samsung may be getting ready for an early launch of its new Galaxy S lineup.

The certification doesn’t give us details about the phone’s internals or an idea of how many devices we’re getting since only the regular Samsung Galaxy S21 has appeared on the bureau’s database. However, it is believed that just like this year, we will initially get three devices, a Galaxy s21, a Galaxy S21+, and a Galaxy S21 Ultra. The new devices are also expected to arrive powered by two different processors, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 for the US version and an Exynos 2100 for the international version.

We have also been receiving quite a bunch of Galaxy S21 leaks and rumors in the last few days. Some of them have confirmed the design of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, which is also expected to feature stylus support, which would also end up leading to the possible demise of the Samsung Galaxy Note series.

A massive spec leak has recently revealed the new lineup’s display sizes, battery sizes, sensors inside each camera setup, color options for every variant, and more. We have also received word that this time, you should look for the Exynos version of the Galaxy S21, as Samsung’s processor could finally more powerful than its Snapdragon counterpart.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 might launch sooner than expected

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 has been one of the hottest devices in the rumor mill lately. From S-Pen support to under-display selfie camera, we’ve heard it all for the upcoming foldable. It is said to replace the Galaxy Note lineup. Hence, we were expecting it to launch in late 2021. However, the latest report suggests otherwise. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is tipped to launch as early as June next year.

The latest development comes from a report by the Korean publication, Aju News. It suggests that Samsung is working on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and it could be launched in June 2021. The report goes on to say that Samsung has started developing its final samples for mass production. Further, it says that the upcoming foldable could have support for S-Pen, a rumor which we’ve heard before. Moreover, it reiterates the report that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 could come with an under-display selfie camera. According to the report, Samsung Electronics and Samsung Display will be using a technology that allows light to pass through the gap between pixels to take photos.

The report goes on to add that Samsung was able to incorporate an in-screen digitizer in the upcoming Galaxy Fold series phone. However, it faced difficulties in developing a screen protective layer that prevents scratches from when the S Pen and the screen come in contact. That’s the reason why Samsung didn’t give support for its stylus to the first two generations of Galaxy Fold. Reportedly, the second-generation ultra-thin glass made it possible for the company to fit the S Pen in the third-gen Galaxy Z Fold.

Goodbye, Note?

We’ve previously reported that Samsung could bid-adieu to the Galaxy Note series, and the latest report builds on that rumor. It states that Samsung will discontinue the Note series as it is bringing S Pen support to its Galaxy S flagship phones and the rumored Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3.

If you’re going for a desktop, the new Mac Mini is $29 off, leaving the entry level model for $670. The latest 12.9in iPad Pro is available for $150 off, that leaves it at $1499 shipped for 1TB of storage. The brand new iPad Air is also $40 off, leaving the entry level one for $559. The budget OnePlus Nord N100 has a ‘high refresh rate’ surprise

Now let’s talk about OnePlus as the company has been in the spotlight quite a bit given all the product launches they’ve done this year. A few weeks ago, OnePlus unveiled two new budget smartphones, the Nord N10 5G and the N100. We’ll be focusing on the N100 for this segment because, this is supposed to be the cheaper and watered down one out of the pair but it looks like there was some hidden premium features in here. So to recap, it packs a punch hole HD+ display, the Snapdragon 460 SoC, a 5,000 mAh battery and a triple camera array with a 12MP main sensor. All of this for around $237, remember that price. Well, now that it’s out, the guys over at Android Authority discovered that the N100 actually packs a 90Hz refresh rate display. OnePlus didn’t specify on this so everyone just assumed it was a regular 60Hz panel which is good for that $200 price tag. So yeah, if you got this phone, make sure to turn that feature on as that 5,000 mAh battery should do a good job handling it.

New iPhone 12 display issues have caught Apple’s attention

If you’ve been watching us for the past year, you probably know that my display on my iPhone 11 Pro simply died on me after getting a weird tint. Well, it looks like the iPhone 12 might be going down that same path. Last weekend, some users started reporting issues with the 12 mini’s Lock Screen sensitivity, and iPhone 12 Pro users were having problems with the message app but, the most notable problems were display issues. Apparently some users were getting a green tint on the screen and some flickering but it looks like Apple noticed. The guys over at MacRumors recovered an internal document where Cupertino addresses this issue, saying that they are aware of the customer reports related to the problem and they’re actively investigating, telling technicians to avoid servicing these types of issues because there is no real fix at the moment but they should advice customers to update their phones. Back with the 11, Apple fixed it with iOS 13.6.1 so, let’s see when we get a fix, we’ll keep you posted. Thing is, my problem wasn’t fixed with a software update. The entire phone had to be replaced, so we’ll see.

Apple’s next mobile chip might rely on 5nm+ process, 4nm silicon likely arrives in 2022

Let’s keep talking about Apple but, this time about there chips, as let’s face it, Apple Silicon still has many of us in disbelief. We know that the A14 Bionic was the first chip in the market to bring a 5nm process, thanks to TSMC but, it looks like they’re already pushing smaller nodes. According to a TrendForce research note, Apple plans to use TSMC’s next generation “5nm+” process for the A15 chip that will come in the 2021 iPhones. TSMC’s website says that this 5nm+ process, refers to N5P which is a “performance-enhanced” version of their current 5nm process, which will deliver additional power efficiency and performance improvements. The report even goes further head to 2022, and they believe that the A16 will be built on a 4nm process, which paves the way for even more performance, power efficiency, and density improvements. This also hints that we might get these improvements in Apple Silicon chips, maybe with the M1X, M2 or whatever that thing is going to be called. Thing is, guys with that M1 mopping the floor with absolutely every Intel Mac we’ve compared on generation 1, can you imagine what gen 2 will be. We’ve never EVER recommended a first generation Apple Product, but this is the first exception.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra leaked renders show shows some seriously slim bezels

And I know, we’re still one segment away but let’s begin with the hottest news today which have to do with Samsung. Yeah, they’re so many we had to split them in two. First off, Ice Universe just went on a tweeting spree giving us a ton of new information on the upcoming Galaxy S Line. He started off by posting some new CAD renders of the S21 Ultra which shows us the new chin and side bezels which.. Let’s just say you won’t be able to tell a difference if you have an S20 Ultra. However, he does say that this will be the narrowest chin in mobile phone in history which is something Samsung has been perfecting over the years. Other than that the CAD renders show the USB-C port as well as the display’s footprint. Moving on from that he also posted some case molds where you can see the camera module for the S21 or the S21+, sadly you can only see the display side for the other 2. Finally he also said that the S21 Ultra’s screen will refresh multiple records, I’m not sure if that means we’ll be getting something like ProMotion or if it will just be a record-breaking display. Whatever the case may be, I’m already pretty excited for whatever this S21 Ultra is going to be.

Story of the day:

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 could have an under-display selfie camera

But, finally let’s move on to the other segment of the hottest news as we have more Samsung products and apparently, Samsung is bringing the heat until later in the year. Last month there was some rumors roaming around that claimed that Samsung would be introducing their first under-the-display camera with the Z Fold 3. Well, now there’s a new ETNews report that backs those rumors. According to an industry insider, Samsung Display has developed a new display that will support this UDC. Apparently they made the gap between pixels wider, to allow light to pass through and this will only be a thing in the selfie camera area, the rest of the display will be the same. That along with some special algorithms will correct images, as light is obviously refracted by the OLED Display to allow for the camera to work. This camera module will be supplied by LSI and apparently the technology won’t be ready by the Spring or early in the year, which is when we get the S Line or the Z Flip. So, we will reportedly get it with the Z Fold 3 in the third quarter of the year because, all of the rumors point to the Galaxy Note line disappearing. A new Ice Universe tweet also gives us backs this by saying the Z Fold 3 will bring a lot of innovating technologies, including this Camera Under the Panel, the S Pen and the second-gen UTG.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 could have an under-display selfie camera

It seems that we may finally get an under-display camera in one of Samsung’s flagship. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 may be the company’s first device to get rid of the punch-hole displays, without the need for notches or pop-up selfie cameras to give us more screen real state. However, rumors don’t stop there, as we may be getting a third device in the Z Fold line this year.

We have been getting tons of rumors concerning the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. It is believed that this new device will finally be able to support stylus input, thanks to some changes in its S Pen’s base technology. However, the latest rumor suggests that Samsung is ready to include an under-display camera in its new foldable.

Reports claim that Samsung Display is already making the panel that’s needed for the under-display camera, and Samsung’s System LSI division would produce this camera sensor. Now, things don’t stop there, as Samsung also has to figure out how to improve the quality of the images and videos captured by this camera with the development of an image correction algorithm.

We could say that we have already received confirmation of some of the upcoming goodies in the Samsung Galaxy Z fold 3, as Ice Universe has already posted that the Z Fold 3 will bring a lot of innovative technologies.

And since we’re mentioning Ice Universe, he has also claimed that we will get three different devices in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold line this year. A less expensive Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Lite, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 with S Pen support and a new under-display camera, and a new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold S, which could include a sliding display.

Now, rumors claim that the Samsung Galaxy Note series will disappear, and this may be because the Samsung Galaxy S21 may include stylus support. However, Ice Universe believes that if the Galaxy Note series is to be replaced, the best option would be to replace it with the new Galaxy Z Fold S.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra leaked renders show shows some seriously slim bezels

Earlier this month, alleged renders of Samsung’s next flagship – tentatively called the Galaxy S21 Ultra – surfaced online followed by a 360-degree video, giving us a glimpse of its massively redesigned rear panel and a different camera lens arrangement. Other rumors floating around in the leak arena suggest that while the rear panel has been redesigned, the look from the front remains the same as its predecessor. However, a fresh leak now suggests that Samsung will make at least one small but fairly noticeable change to the front facade too, and it has something to do with the chin (or the bottom bezel) of the device.

Famed tipster IceUniverse has tweeted images of what is claimed to be CAD-based renders of the Galaxy S21 Ultra. From the leaked images, it appears that the chin (or bottom bezel) will be as small as the side bezels, which essentially means a more pleasing uniform look similar to the iPhone 12 range. But unlike the Apple offerings which have a huge notch at the top, Samsung will reportedly opt for a way less intrusive hole-punch in accordance with the Infinity-O design language.

So essentially, you’re looking at a familiar Galaxy S20 series design, but with way slimmer and uniformly thin bezels on all sides for the Galaxy S21 Ultra. The leakster goes on to claim that the Galaxy S21 will rock ‘the narrowest chin in mobile phone history’, which might be a big deal for potential buyers who are a fan of uniform aesthetics and value these subtle design changes. However, it is unclear if the same design language will appear on the rest of the Galaxy S21 series members.

Talking about the Galaxy S21 series, the leakster has also shared images depicting the metal-molded cast models of the Galaxy S21 series, which is likely going to have three core members (likely the vanilla Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus and Galaxy S21 Ultra) that will debut early next year. However, a Galaxy S21 Fan Edition will make its way to the market later in 2021, something Samsung promised back when the Galaxy S20 FE made its debut a few months ago.

Lastly, in another tweet, the tipster also hinted that the Galaxy S21 series might use a record-setting high refresh rate display. We already have smartphones such as Xiaomi’s Mi 10 Ultra that rock a 144Hz display, so it would be interesting to see Samsung top that and pull off something genuinely outrageous when it comes to winning the specs war. However, leaked rumors suggest that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will pack a 2K display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

OPPO got on the spotlight yesterday thanks to their new concept smartphone and the other things we got at their INNO Day Conference. Well, Day 2 just happened in China and, they just confirmed that they are working on the Find X3 Series. Now, we don’t have much information on what we’re getting here but, one thing they did say is that we will be getting a native 10-bit display on this phone. OPPO says that they’re R&D team is preparing new algorithms in areas like distortion-correction, multi-frame noise reduction and extreme super-resolution. It will support Digital Overlap HDR mode. Check out the links in the description for other technical details they mentioned but, the Find X2 Pro already had probably my favorite display of the year, so we’re not going to complain about it getting better.

Google Pay app gets a redesign and some new features

Now let’s talk about Google as the company has just unveiled a revamp to their Google Pay app through a livestream today. Basically it delivers a complete redesign. It now shows you friends and family to which you can pay directly and nearby businesses that accept Google Pay as well in the top right corner. You also get other features like payment history at certain establishments as well as a new Explore Tab and a new Insights Tab. Google’s objective is for you to manage your money better with a budget feature in the Insights tab and they are also adding support for Plaid which lets you connect your bank or credit card. Another cool feature is letting you import pictures of receipts from Google Photos, that is if you’re still using it after the dilemma. There’s a ton of other features coming to the app so, check out the links below and FYI, the update is currently rolling out in the US to both Google Play and iOS.

Google offers an optimized version of Chrome for Macs with Apple’s M1 chip

Chrome gets a huge performance boost and a useful tab search tool

And since we started with Google, Let’s talk about Google Chrome as, the company is bringing some very interesting and welcome changes. Yesterday they announced v87, which is currently rolling out, and it gives Chrome its biggest boost in performance in years. You get upgrades like it opening 25% faster and page loading speed is going up by 7%, all while using less RAM and cutting down on the power consumption. They’re also adding other things like tab search, action buttons for better productivity and more. Something else we just got is an optimized version of Chrome for the new M1 Macs which we are testing as, the regular Chrome app quits pretty often if you’re not on the optimized version. Now, if you go to their website, you might not see the optimized one so if you’re rocking one, make sure to check out the link in our description to get it. So yeah, we hope Chrome works out all of their resource issues as they have been working on it for quite some time now.

Samsung might be working on a cheaper foldable phone called Galaxy Z Flip Lite

Samsung has really shifted their strategy towards foldables as of late and with those rumors of the Galaxy Note disappearing it makes a lot of sense. Well, a couple of days ago we covered a list of Samsung flagships that we should expect next year and a couple of them were cheaper foldables, one of them being a Z Fold FE and a a Z Flip Lite. Well, according to a new tweet from Ross Young, they are no longer hearing about a Z Fold Lite or FE anymore but apparently the Z Flip Lite is still on the table. What’s kind of impressive here is that Samsung will still be using their UTG technology on this phone, despite it being a cheaper device. This means that it won’t be as fragile as the original Galaxy Fold and it ensures some longevity. Of course this is still a rumor though, we are somewhat close to the Spring already which is when we got the original Z Flip. The thing about it is, we know that a lot of you guys are interested on foldables but the price tag is simply a deal breaker so, would you guys like a Z Flip Lite?

Story of the day:

Apple is halving its commission rate to 15% for most developers

And finally for the hottest news today, we have something that’s oddly for the ban section which Diego still hasn’t made graphics for. Well not really but, almost part of the ban section let’s move on to Apple. If you remember, the whole Apple vs Epic situation started because of Apple’s infamous 30% tax, which Epic Games wanted them to waive for customers to pay the actual value at which they sell their cosmetics. Well, you already know how that went but, it seems like Apple is doing something for smaller developers through their new “Small Business Program”. Cupertino just announced that they are lowering their commission to 15% but, it is strictly for developers that earned $1M or less in the previous calendar year. Apple mentions that this will benefit the vast majority of developers that sell digital goods and other services on the App Store, with this new Business Program launching on January 1st, 2021. They also said how small businesses are the backbone of the global economy and the beating heart of innovation and opportunity in communities around the world. For developers who surpass the $1M threshold, they will still get the 30% commission but, if somehow they fall below that $1M mark by the end of the year, they will be able to apply and get the 15% through the program. So, it looks like what Epic Games was doing did work, just not for them.

Samsung might be working on a cheaper foldable phone called Galaxy Z Flip Lite

Foldables are a big part of Samsung’s product strategy right now, with two form factors already in the market and their successors are already in development. But foldable smartphones, irrespective of the brand they come from, are a tad too expensive. Now, a SamMobile report claims that Samsung is looking to put a foldable device into the hands of more users with its next offering that will allegedly debut under the name Galaxy Z Flip Lite

Now, before you get your heartbeat racing hearing the news of a cheaper foldable phone from Samsung, do keep in mind that this is just a rumor at this stage. Ross Young, who is a lead analyst for DisplaySearch and has a fairly accurate track record with leaks, tweeted that he is currently hearing rumors about a foldable Samsung device with UTG that is called Galaxy Z Flip Lite. Of course, the ‘Lite’ moniker suggests that Samsung will make some cuts when it comes to the raw firepower and imaging capabilities to sell the Galaxy Z Flip at a lower asking price.

Finally, a foldable device for the masses?

But that’s not all. The report suggests that Samsung is rather bullish concerning its ‘affordable’ foldable device, and will reportedly manufacture it in a larger quantity than other foldable devices in the company’s current portfolio. Notably, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Lite will use the UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass) solution that Samsung used on the Galaxy Z Flip and later employed on the Galaxy Z Fold 2.

Remember the display woes of the first-gen Galaxy Fold, especially the fragile top layer on top? Well, Samsung addressed a few of them with the aforementioned UTG solution. Compared to a traditional foldable panel, the UTG layer is essentially a thin layer of glass that is less prone to scratches and offers higher material strength. Apparently, Samsung is going to use the UTG layer on all of its upcoming foldable smartphones, be it premium offerings in the Z Fold family, or more affordable members arriving under the Z Flip lineup.

Exynos 2100 may surpass the SD 875 in the Samsung Galaxy S21 series

We have been getting quite a bit of benchmark results in the last few days. Mainly because of the tests performed on Apple’s latest M1 devices. However, it seems that those aren’t the only devices being tested. The Samsung Galaxy S21 may have already been examined with both its Snapdragon 875 and its Exynos 2100 variants, and it seems that next year, you may want to go for the international version.

This is not the first time that we see benchmark results for the Samsung Galaxy S21. The device was found delivering some interesting results back in September while being powered by the Exynos 1000 processor, even though it is said that it will feature the Exynos 2100 chipset. Back then, we saw that the device managed to deliver 1038 in its single-core score, while a 3060 multi-core score was reached.

Now, we receive the latest benchmarks of the Samsung Galaxy S21, but this time it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875, with 8GB RAM. The device reached 1120 single-core score and a 3319 multi-core score. These results would suggest that the Snapdragon 875 may be better than the Exynos 2100 processor, but it seems that things aren’t precisely as they seem. Let’s remember that the SD 875 codenamed Lahaina isn’t official yet, but neither is the Exynos 2100 processor, which gives both processors plenty of room to grow.

We have also received some info from Ice Universe, where he tells us not to pay attention to the results leaked by Geekbench, as these are not accurate before the release of the products, and we also have to pay attention to the real specs in the Samsung Galaxy S21 models. He believes that the new Exynos 2100 will be more powerful than its Snapdragon 875 counterpart, as both chipsets have identical CPU architecture, but the prime X1 core will reach 2.91 GHz in the Exynos 2100, while the Snapdragon 875 will top out at 2.84 GHz. We will also find differences in the power-efficient Cortex-A55 cores, which will reach 1.8GHz in the SD 875, compared to the 2.2GHz reached by the Exynos processor.
