It's raining deals on attractive, older HTC phones stateside, while the U11 can be pre-ordered for as little as $679 with 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM.

HTC has “something big” up its sleeve “for U”, coming January 12

Why are mobile tech companies so shy about unveiling exciting new products at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas these days? We honestly can’t remember one decent gadget premiered last year to go on and rack up respectable sales numbers, and now once again the expo is shaping up rather uneventful as far as we’re concerned.

What’s odd is that HTC has just begun teasing “something big” coming mere days after CES 2017’s conclusion. Specifically, something “for U” to be announced Thursday, January 12. Unfortunately, that’s still not very specific, with venues, names and even product categories tough to crack based solely on HTC’s awfully cryptic image above.

Are we looking at a new smartphone here? Perhaps the “real and alive” Ocean with Sense Touch? A more conventional HTC 11 flagship model? How about the Taiwanese OEM’s fabled, oft-delayed first ever smartwatch? A revised Vive virtual reality headset?

It’s way too early to call it, especially lacking any shred of concrete evidence, but our money is on a slightly lower-profile UA HealthBox sequel. U may well stand for Under Armour, and the connected fitness system’s first edition did see daylight back in January 2016, ironically during the previous Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas. Other guesses?

Buy an HTC 10 from the OEM this week, get free Jabra or Pro Studios headset

HTC’s generosity knows no bounds, it seems, at least when it comes to the company’s newest flagship phone, also seen as its prospective financial savior. For that to happen, of course, the HTC 10 has to be competitively priced, which isn’t really the case with the $100 coupon code from a while back no longer valid. On the bright side, Memorial Day buyers were

HTC lost another $150 million during Q1, with ‘good momentum’ anticipated next

You have to hand it to HTC, as no matter how tough the going gets, its optimism appears to remain intact. HTC confirms yet another miserable quarter, but there’s hope of a comeback

How many more months of constant financial losses can HTC afford before throwing in the towel and declaring bankruptcy, or at least abandoning the smartphone market? UA HealthBox by HTC Review – Pocketnow Fitness

CES 2016 was proof that a lot of companies are out to build wearables that do fitness to a certain degree. Some of these are good enough to solve some needs, but the fact of the matter is that most are still experimenting. Serious fitness requires a little more of the things that are proven to already work, and never have we seem a more holistic approach to fitness than with the Under Armour HealthBox, made by HTC.See, most trackers can do a decent job at being just that, Trackers. But if you’re the type that is either starting out or is already invested in the fitness life style, you ...
