Get four months of Google Play Music in a free trial (again)

If you have not tried out Google Play Music yet, then you’re eligible for a four-month-long free trial for the service.

Google is offering up its streaming music library of some 35 million-strong with that carrot this week. The stick comes in after the four months with a monthly cost of $9.99. This also nets you a complimentary YouTube Red subscription if you live in the US — that means ad-free viewing and access to special, original content.

And as a reminder, you can’t just give up your current subscription to hop onto this offer. And, unlike the last four-month promo from June, those who have participated in prior test periods cannot continue to freeload.

YouTube Music makes its debut for iOS and Android

A few weeks back Google announced YouTube Red, a big change to how the streaming video service is monetized. And while that was interesting enough on its own, news of Red also arrived alongside word of a new YouTube Music app, one with both free and subscription features that would give users unprecedented access to the service’s vast music ...
