Leaked iPad 5 schematics unveil thinner body

The iPad is due for a refresh soon and some alleged leaked iPad 5 schematics unveil a thinner case. We’ve speculated in the past that the new iPad will most probably borrow the looks of the iPad mini. Today’s leaked iPad 5 schematics, if legit, seem to confirm just that. About the only dimension that can be seen on the drawing is the thickness: 7.9mm. However, this figure does not include the screen, so the final product could be somewhat thicker. Depending on the measurements of the screen and glass itself, it will either be somewhat thinner than the current iPad, or, at ...

Sony Honami press render allegedly leaked

A Sony Honami press render has been allegedly leaked. This is nothing new by itself, as we’ve seen previous purported press renders of the phone. However, they didn’t quite match the alleged real-life pictures that surfaced on the interwebs recently. To put it simply, this phone, claimed to be the Honami, wasn’t really looking like this render, also claimed to be of the Honami. However, ...

Carl Zeiss rebranded to ZEISS, early Nokia EOS leak already featured the new name

Carl Zeiss has rebranded itself to ZEISS for better brand recognition and consistency. Those who are fans of photography, or high-end Nokia phones, already know Carl Zeiss. The camera-lens-maker (and not only) published the company decision on its own blog, also giving examples on how the brand will appear on future products. Interestingly, an early Nokia EOS (or Elvis, or Lumia 1020, or Nokia ZOOM, we don’t know, really) leak has featured the new name. As seen above, the purported back of the upcoming 41-megapixel phone, to be unveiled in July 11, wears the “PureView ...

Statistics show video-enabled Instagram slaughtering Vine

Back in early June, we were still talking about Vine’s incredible success, and saw its new Android release rocketing up the Google Play charts, cruising right past Instagram. But it wouldn’t be long before Facebook and Instagram had their revenge, and a week ago yesterday we learned that Instagram was going to try beating Vine at its own game, adding some video support of its own. Has Nokia tapped Justin Bieber to help launch EOS/Lumia 1020? (Nope)

We currently find ourselves less than two weeks away from July 11, when unless Nokia has been pulling an awful practical joke on us all, the company will launch its long-awaited 41-megapixel PureView Lumia at a New York event. At least, Nokia hasn’t been keeping the event’s focus much of a secret, and continues to drop hints of the EOS/Lumia 1020 we expect to see there. As we’ve mentioned,

Execs clash over possibility of Huawei Ascend P6 Google Play edition

Earlier this month, we talked at some length about the idea that this whole Google Play edition stuff that HTC and Samsung are into might be an even better idea for a company without the same high profile, like a ZTE or a Huawei. Of course, when Huawei went ahead and launched its flagship Ascend P6 a couple weeks later, its chairman specifically discounted the possibility that we might see the arrival of a GPe Ascend P6. Now, though, we’re not quite ...
