HTC Signs Exclusive Nexus Deal for 3 Years?

HTC is fighting to keep itself relevant, and much will depend on the company's upcoming One M10 flagship and whether the Vive VR headset can convert its buzz into sales. Another way would be for the company to cozy up to Google and the Android platform even more, which could actually be in the offing as reports suggest HTC has signed a three year deal to build Nexus hardware.

As ridiculous as it is, the Android market is one of spec one-upmanship. The company with the beefier hardware stands out, at least that is how many Chinese companies approach the platform, thinking that the more specs you cram in the better the device is. We were not expecting much from Sony at the Mobile World Conference, and while the company didn't launch a new flagship, it did arrive with three rather enticing products. The Xperia X is among them, and it is looking like continuing Sony's recent quality output in the mid-range market. Nokia Biding Time for Ideal Return to Smartphone Market

Nokia has been out of the smartphone game for over two years, since it sold off its Lumia devices and services division to Microsoft. As part of the deal the Finnish giant could not make a rival device until this year, but with that accord coming to an end Nokia is ready to make handsets again. The company's CEO used an MWC press event to say the company wants to make a new smartphone, but is in no rush.

We have already seen LG?s new G5 flagship, a smartphone that aims for innovation. Samsung was never going to produce something as fresh with the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, and so it proves with the two flagships revealed at MWC. Sure, fresh innovation may be missing from these handsets, but instead Samsung has set about perfecting devices that were already among the very best on the market anyway.

Apple Holding iPhone 5se Launch Event March 15th

Apple is breaking with convention and will launch a bunch of new products this spring. Over recent years Cupertino has shifted its product announcements to the fall, even revealing the Apple Watch in September, six months before it launched. Of course, spring launches are not unprecedented for the company and Apple is returning to the early year launch silly season with three new products that will be announced on March 15th.
