Samsung ATIV S Neo coming to AT&T on November 8th for $100

Samsung has sadly not been our favorite company this year when it comes to their support for their Windows Phone platform. Surely, yes, they’ve launched one phone here and there, but none of these have delivered on a better user experience than what we already get on other competing OEMs like Nokia or HTC. This year all we’ve seen from Samsung is the ATIV S Neo on Sprint, which sadly is anything but a flagship phone, and it seems that it’s all that we’re going to get. The company has just made it official that they’re launching the phone on AT&T, and this ...

Samsung ATIV S Neo review: the best of limited options

Sometimes, as a tech reviewer, you encounter a smartphone so good that you don’t want to send it back to the manufacturer at the end of the review period. Other times, you can’t wait to drop it in the mail and scurry back to the safety of your daily driver. For this reviewer, Samsung’s ATIV S Neo is, unfortunately, an example of the latter. Not because it does much wrong, necessarily, but because it’s almost totally unremarkable – and it fails to live up to a promise Sprint made its users back in January

Samsung ATIV S Neo vs HTC 8XT (Video)

We’ve reviewed the HTC 8XT and unboxed the Samsung ATIV S Neo – so even the occasional Pocketnow reader will know what comes next. That’s right: as we continue to put our ATIV S Neo through the review ringer, we need to throw it head-to-head against the device that beat it to Big Yellow. In the below video, the ...

Pocketnow Weekly 058: YouTube app wars, a WP8 HTC One, & the future of phone customization

When companies fight, customers (usually) lose – but podcasters win, big time. On this episode of the Pocketnow Weekly, we’ll be reaping some of the few benefits of the great Google-Microsoft battle of 2013: namely, the ability to piss and moan and armchair-quarterback. Fortunately, we’ve got plenty of ammunition for the discussion, as we’re also fresh from customizing our own Moto X devices, re-reviewing the Surface RT, and observing the initial, wobbly launch efforts ...

Samsung ATIV S Neo: unboxing (Video)

The HTC 8XT was the first Windows Phone in two years to launch on third-largest US carrier Sprint, and it was also Sprint’s first Windows Phone 8 model ever. Despite these distinctions, though, the 8XT landed with a pretty ho-hum display and some software hiccups which cost it points in our full review. Those looking for a higher-end experience, then, will be heartened to know that Samsung is on duty: the company has spruced up the casing and a few internal components of its ...

Sprint botching ATIV S Neo launch? No handsets available in stores

Momentum this week has been building up towards retail availability of the Samsung ATIV S Neo for Sprint, only the second Windows Phone 8 handset to grace the carrier. After an early appearance on Samsung’s site, we got confirmation from Sprint a couple days ago that sales of the ATIV S Neo would begin today, August 16. The thing is, Windows Phone fans who have long been waiting for this phone are walking away from Sprint ...

Sprint confirms Samsung ATIV S Neo sales rumors

Yesterday afternoon, we were talking about the Samsung ATIV S Neo, the company’s latest Windows Phone 8 handset, and its first for Sprint. Samsung put a page up for the phone that gave us a more complete look at its specs than ever before, answering some outstanding questions, but we still didn’t have a firm launch date. A leaked roadmap had suggested the ATIV S Neo would arrive this Friday, August 16, but even with that just days away, there was no official confirmation. Apparently Sprint was just holding out a ...

Samsung answers lingering ATIV S Neo hardware questions

It’s been seven weeks since Sprint made good on its intent to finally get into Windows Phone 8 with the launch of the HTC 8XT and Samsung ATIV S Neo. The 8XT has already gone up for sale, so there are no more secrets there, but we’ve been left with plenty of questions about the ATIV S Neo – after all, Sprint declined to provide some key hardware specs during its initial press release, and we’ve largely been left in the dark as to an actual retail ...

Samsung ATIV S Neo retail launch date leaked

Sprint finally showed up to the Windows Phone 8 party about a month ago, announcing both the HTC 8XT and the Samsung ATIV S Neo. At the time, the carrier wasn’t ready to divulge just when each of these phones would become available. In the time since, we’ve seen the carrier announce a date for the 8XT, and even get started with sales. All the while, the situation’s been quiet for the ATIV S Neo. We still don’t have any official word, ...

Sprint announces its first two WP8 phones: HTC 8XT and Samsung ATIV S Neo

We’ve known for a few months now that Sprint has finally decided to stop watching Windows Phone 8 from the sidelines and get itself involved with the platform through the release of a pair of smartphones. We’ve also known to expect those guys to launch sometime this summer, and rumors had pegged the pair as the Samsung ATIV S and the long-rumored HTC Tiara. Well, rather than tease ...
