New iPhone 13 lineup may arrive with a smaller battery

Ming-Chi Kuo has been quite active, giving us predictions of future Apple products. He has already mentioned that the company will add Taiwanese manufacturer Career Technology to its supply chain because of the company’s LCP soft boards, which will be included in several Apple devices. However, changes don’t end there, as Kuo also believes that next years’ iPhone 13 lineup will arrive with smaller batteries, which isn’t necessarily bad.

According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the new iPhone 13 lineup will have smaller batteries thanks to a new technology known as soft board batteries. He also says that next year’s iPhones will be the first phones ever to use the new tech. His note explains that these new soft board batteries will be supplied by Jialianyi, which will make the company double its Apple business thanks to said batteries.

“Benefiting from the return to Apple’s full product line soft board supply chain, we predict that Jialianyi’s Apple business revenue will grow by about 100% YoY or above in 2021 […]
“Jialianyi is expected to obtain about 40-50% of orders for battery soft boards for iPhone 13 and 13 mini. We predict that iPhone 13 will be the first iPhone model to adopt battery soft board technology, which will help save internal space and reduce costs.
“The battery soft and hard version suppliers for the iPhone 12 series include Xinxing, Huatong, Yaohua and TTM, and the battery soft board suppliers for the iPhone 13 series are changed to Jialianyi, Xinxing and Huatong.
“We believe that the number of battery panels for the iPhone 13 series is reduced due to the reduced number of suppliers, which will benefit the long-term profits of the suppliers. As a new entrant, Jialianyi is the biggest beneficiary of the iPhone 13 series’ switch to battery soft board design.”

These new batteries have fewer layers than other batteries, meaning that Apple could give its future devices more capacity while using less space. Another option is that we may get a slimmer design.

“The 2021 iPhone display may use 10-20% less power than the iPhone 12, thanks to a more power-efficient technology, according to a new report today. There’s even an outside possibility of some kind of always-on display on next year’s iPhones.”

We just hope they figure out how to give enough juice to the new iPhone 13. We know that it currently struggles with 5G connectivity, and we also expect the new iPhone lineup to include 120Hz refresh rate displays in the higher-end variants.

iPhone 12 reveals everything under the hood, along with a 5G issue

Pre-orders for the latest iPhone 12 and 12 Pro started last Friday, and they are scheduled to be delivered this upcoming Friday. However, we have seen a couple of these devices in action. As a matter of fact, the latest video features a teardown of the new iPhone 12 to show us everything that’s coming included inside this new device.

A new teardown video of the iPhone 12 is now live. This video shows us that there are a few important differences between the latest iPhone lineup and its predecessor. The new device has an L-shaped logic board, which resembles a previous leak, even though it’s not identical, meaning that the previously leaked logic board may be from another iPhone 12 variant.

This new logic board is longer than the one found in the iPhone 11 series, and its new shape also differs from the previous straight design. We also find a 2,815mAh battery, which confirms that the iPhone 11 has a higher capacity, with a 3,110mAh battery. Now, that won’t seem to be a real issue here, as the latest Apple A14 Bionic chip is supposed to be more power-efficient.

The reason behind the smaller battery could be because of the extra space required for 5G components, and here’s where we find the issue, as 5G drains the iPhone’s battery 20 percent faster than when it’s working on 4G networks. This information was provided by the guys at Tom’s Guide, as they performed battery tests on their iPhone 12 devices, with results that weren’t great.

“Compared to the Android competition, Apple’s new phones are a step behind those devices on our best phone battery life list, especially over 5G networks. Overall, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro battery life is a bummer over 5G, at least when surfing the web. So you may want to manually switch to 4G in some cases to save extra juice”

So, in the end, this may be the real reason why Apple included the new “Smart Data Mode” in the new iPhone 12 and 12 Pro, as this new model will automatically turn off 5G to keep your battery from dying faster than it would on 4G networks. Remember that you can also choose to manually turn off 5G on your new iPhone to boost battery life.

New leak could confirm the battery capacity in the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra may be a long way from its official presentation, but it seems that we may already have confirmation of some of its internals. A new rumor could confirm a previous leak that mentioned the battery size in the Galaxy S21 Ultra, which may be just as large as the battery found in its predecessor.

A new leak has surfaced, mentioning the battery size of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. Once again, the leak comes from a very credible source, as the information was taken from an early product certificate. The documentation coming from Chinese telecom authority 3C mentions the battery of the Galaxy S21 Ultra, which is supposed to carry model number EB-BG998ABY which could easily be used as a reference to the SM-998 model that is the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

The non-removable battery is rated with a capacity of 4,885mAh, which usually ends up being announced as a total 5,000 mAh battery, which would match the previous leaks that surfaced in mid-September. This doesn’t mean that we may get the same battery life as on the Galaxy S20 Ultra, as we are expecting that the new processors featured in these devices can give us the same or better screen-on time.

Bear in mind that the new Samsung Galaxy S21 could include several camera upgrades, and we may end up getting a new 108MP Wide-angle camera, a standard 3X lens, a periscope module the would deliver more than 5X magnification, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. On the front panel, rumors claim that we could get a selfie camera with a 40MP sensor. We have also seen the device with an Exynos 2100 processor under the hood, which isn’t as powerful as the Exynos 1000 processor that we saw previously, which could end up being even better and faster than its Qualcomm Snapdragon counterpart. Still, there is a long way to go, and many things can change. In the meantime, we’ll keep you posted with any new information that pops up.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra to have significant camera changes

A couple of rumors concerning the Samsung Galaxy S21 have started to arrive as we are still months away from its launch. The company has recently announced a new 108MP, 64MP, 48MP, and 32MP mobile camera sensors, and it seems that we could easily find a couple of these in Samsung’s next Galaxy S flagship.

According to industry sources from Samsung’s home country, the new Samsung Galaxy S21 series will arrive with a quadruple-camera setup, which will pack two telephoto lenses. These sensors would help in delivering a better variety of quality images at higher focal lengths. In other words, there would be fewer reasons to zoom by cropping a 108MP photo and trying to use AI to restore some of the details, just as we saw on the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

The new camera in the Galaxy S21 Ultra would use a standard 3x lens and a periscope-style module that would deliver mode than 5X magnification. Then we may find a 108MO wide-angle camera and another 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera to complete the quad-camera setup. A 40MP selfie camera is also expected in the Ultra version of the S21. Yes, only the Galaxy S21 Ultra, as the Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy S21+, aren’t expected to feature major mobile photography improvements. However, we can expect them to include better OIS, maybe sharper lenses.

Now, it seems that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will still retain the battery size of its predecessor, as it is expected to include a 5,000mAh battery, according to an inside source quoted by Galaxy Club. They recently posted that the model number and the battery’s capacity inside the future Galaxy S21 Ultra are the same as the one in the Galaxy S20 Ultra.

The model number of the battery in the Galaxy S21 Ultra is EB-BG998ABY, and it comes rated at 4,885 mAh, which would translate to a 5,00mAh battery capacity. The other Galaxy S21 variants are expected to come with larger batteries than their predecessors, which means more battery life from Samsung’s next flagships. Even more, when you consider that these new devices will pack a new 5nm Exynos and Snapdragon processors, that should be more power-efficient.

Moto RAZR 5G could arrive with a 2,633mAh battery and fast charging

We get new rumors concerning the new Moto RAZR 5G or the RAZR 2020. This new device is getting the required certifications before a possible launch, and these reveal some interesting new details about the phone’s battery size and charging capabilities.

According to a TUV Rheinland certification, the new Moto RAZR 5G will include a 2,633mAh battery with 18W fast charging. This device is believed to come with two batteries under the hood, so when you and the first one, LS30, with 1,180mAh with the LS40 with 1,453mAh, you get more battery than the one in the original RAZR, which also included fast charging, but it topped off at 15W.

The new Moto RAZR 5G is expected to launch on September 9, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB of storage space, and a larger display. The device is also said to include a new 48MP Samsung Quad-Bayer primary camera and a 20MP selfie camera.

New OnePlus Buds will give you up to 30hrs of battery life

We have received new information concerning the OnePlus Buds. OnePlus has revealed some interesting details about its new wireless earbuds, which include outstanding battery life.

According to recent information posted by OnePlus in a forum post, the new OnePlus Buds will deliver up to 30 hours of battery life on a single charge of the case. This is possible because each earbud can individually support seven hours of non-stop playback. After that time, you will have to place the earbud back into its charging case and repeat the cycle. By doing so, you will get 30 hours of music playback before having to recharge the case.

“With the OnePlus Buds, we wanted to take away some of the “anxiety” that comes with that unpredictability. Here, we gave the OnePlus Buds industry-leading battery life.

“To be specific, they are good for over seven hours of continuous use, and can be fully topped up more than three times from just their charging case, giving you up to 30 hours of use before you have to plug in again.

“The most important thing is that, even as their batteries run for longer, the OnePlus Buds are still exceedingly light at just 4.6 grams, while the charging case is just 36 grams, so they’ll never be a burden in your pocket.”

You currently get 24 hours of playback from Apple’s AirPods, and 22 hours from the Samsung Galaxy Buds+, so six more hours of music playback is really great from OnePlus. These wireless earbuds will be officially launched next week, on July 21st, along with the budget-friendly OnePlus Nord.

iPhone 12 could arrive with a smaller battery than the one in the iPhone 11

If you thought that the possibility of getting a new iPhone 12 without a charger or Earpods was already bad, now it seems that the new lineup may arrive with a smaller battery than the current iPhone 11 series.

According to MySmartPrice, the iPhone 12 lineup may arrive with smaller batteries than the ones found in the iPhone 11 lineup. This information comes from certifications of three batteries, which are believed to power Apple’s upcoming phones. The batteries are identified with model numbers A2471, A2431, and A2466, on Safety Korea, China’s 3C, and UL Demko from Denmark.

It seems that the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 would use the A2471 battery, with a 2,227mAh capacity, the 6.1-inch variants would include the A2431 battery with a 2,775mAh capacity, and finally, the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max could come equipped with the 3,687mAh A2466 battery. Now, the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max had a 3,046 and 3,969mAh battery, respectively. Maybe the new processor in these iPhones will deliver better power management, and Apple users won’t feel like they need bigger batteries, but then again, remember that you could be getting less, and still have to pay more.

We may soon see a Samsung Galaxy phone with a 7,000mAh battery

It seems that Samsung keeps trying to give its users bigger smartphone batteries every single time. A new leak has surfaced, showing a phone with the biggest battery in a Galaxy phone to date.

Samsung has recently received certification for a phone part of its Galaxy M series. This device is the Samsung Galaxy M41, which was rumored to be canceled. This Chinese certification reveals that the phone includes a 6,800mAh battery inside. This number represents the rated capacity, so the typical capacity should be close to the 7,000mAh mark.

We usually see these sized batteries in tablets, like the 10-inch Galaxy Tab S6 Lite and the Galaxy Tab S5e, which have a 7,040mAh battery. Now, we can’t be sure if we will end up receiving the Galaxy M41, but we could very well see this battery in more Samsung devices in the future.
