Apple has launched a new ‘iPhone 11 Display Module Replacement Program for Touch Issues’ that will solve the issues of several users who have experienced Touch issues with their devices. This new program will fix the “small percentage” of iPhone 11 displays that have stopped responding to touch input for free if certain conditions are met.
“Apple has determined that a small percentage of iPhone 11 displays may stop responding to touch due to an issue with the display module. Affected devices were manufactured between November 2019 and May 2020.”
Apple accepts that there are some iPhone 11 devices with defective display modules. These phones were manufactured between November 2019 and May 2020, and if your device has been affected, here’s you can get it serviced for free.
First, you have to type your phone’s serial number in the serial number checker provided on the Apple Support page, to see if your iPhone 11 is eligible for the program. After verifying that you can get a free fix, you will have to find an Apple Authorized Service Provider, make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, or contact Apple Support to arrange mail-in service via the Apple Repair Center, where your device will be examined prior to the service.
You should also backup your iPhone 11 to iCloud or your computer and make sure that it doesn’t have a cracked screen since that issue will have to be reserved prior to the service, and yes, there may be a cost for that repair.
Still, it’s cool to know that Apple’s got a nice plan to fix your device. We also hope that Cupertino also fixes other problems affecting its latest iPhone 12 lineup, which include dropping 5G and LTE services and the latest one that’s now draining the phone’s battery.
Apple’s latest iPhone 12 lineup has recently hit the shelves, and even though they are great phones, they aren’t perfect. Just last weekend, we saw that some users had started reporting issues with the iPhone 12 mini’s Lock Screen sensitivity, while the iPhone 12 and Pro had problems related to the Messages app. However, it seems that the list doesn’t end there. Now, more iPhone 12 devices have started presenting other display issues.
It seems that the new iPhone lineup is having more problems than expected. User’s complaints usually mentioned missing SMS messages or notifications in the 6.1-inch variants of the iPhone 12, or devices that have to do with the iPhone 12 mini, and how its Lock Screen doesn’t recognize the press or swipe to unlock when they used their thumbs.
The latest bug is also related to the display of the iPhone 12, which is now presenting a greenish tint and flickering. These issues have started to show up on Apple’s Support Community page, and unfortunately, there’s no immediate solution in sight.
The guys over at MacRumors got their hands on an internal document where Apple acknowledges the issue in some iPhone 12 displays, and it has also started to give instructions as to what to do when encountering these problems.
“In the document, shared with Apple Authorized Service Providers this week, Apple says that it is aware of customer reports related to this issue and is investigating. Apple has advised technicians to avoid servicing affected iPhones, at least for now, and instead inform customers that they should keep their iPhone up to date with the latest iOS version. This guidance suggests that Apple may be confident that it can fix the issue in a future software update.”
This is not the first time iPhone displays have presented this issue, as the previous iPhone 11 lineup was also affected by a similar problem. However, Apple managed to fix it with the iOS 13.6.1 software update, meaning that flickering, a green or gray glow, or other unintended lighting variations in the iPhone 12 lineup could soon be fixed with a future software update.
In the meantime, try setting the display’s brightness to 90% or lower and see if the issue is also affecting your iPhone 12, as users claim that this is when the display starts to show unwanted variations.
We are getting more rumors concerning the Samsung Galaxy S21 series as we get closer to its possible launch in January. Now, the latest rumors suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will include some camera and display upgrades.
According to a couple of tweets posted by well-known leaker Ice Universe, the new Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will include ISOCELL HM3 camera sensor with 108MP resolution and 0.8μm pixels. This new sensor would offer 12 percent better light sensitivity, which would allow the phone to capture more details than its predecessor. It will also make the S21 Ultra faster when capturing images in low-light conditions.
Galaxy S21 Ultra is a small improved version of S20 Ultra. Using HM3 sensor, single pixel is still 0.8um, 108MP, laser focus, no ToF.
Further, the camera setup of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will now include laser autofocus instead of the 3D Time of Flight sensor found in the Galaxy S21 Ultra. These changes will also give the camera better and more reliable auto-focus when taking pictures in low-light conditions and when you want to capture objects up close.
However, things don’t stop there, as he also mentioned that the new S21 Ultra will now support 120Hz refresh rates at 2K resolution. In other words, we will still have to wait for Samsung to give us 4K displays in its devices, and it seems that it won’t happen any time soon. The main reason is “because other than VR content, there’s little practical reason to pay extra for 4K resolution support over QHD displays.”
Now, we will have to see how the new Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will do against Apple’s latest iPhone 12. Let’s remember that Samsung may launch the Galaxy S21 series earlier than other years to block iPhone sales as much as possible. Samsung has also recently shipped more smartphones than Apple in the US market during this last quarter, giving the Korean tech giant 33.7 percent of Q3 shares, 6.7 percent more than last year’s Q3. According to a report from Strategy Analytics, this left Apple in second place with a 30.2 percent market share.
Samsung has recently launched its new budget-friendly version of the Galaxy S20, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE. This may be one of the best budget flagships available in the market since it includes several premium specs, but it stays away from the $1,000 price tags that we usually find in today’s flagship market. However, there is no such thing as a perfect smartphone, and some Galaxy S20 Fan Edition users are already reporting some issues with their phones.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 may not be as great as we initially thought. Some of its users have started posting complaints on Reddit and Samsung forums, as they mention erratic touchscreen problems. These basically consist of the phone having trouble distinguishing between swipe and tap gestures. Others note that the displays just don’t respond to touch input or start registering phantom inputs.
Now, the guys over at 9to5Google also experienced some issues with their review unit: “Anecdotally, our own Samsung Galaxy S20 FE review unit is also experiencing these touchscreen issues. In my usage, the phone will regularly turn on the “pocket” mode even when I’m holding it normally and occasionally messes up swiping actions. In speaking to Samsung, the company wasn’t aware of the problem being widespread as of last week with a hardware replacement being shipped to my doorstep this week. As a result, we opted to delay our review until giving the new unit a test run.”
Complaints are not as numerous, so it is believed that this may be an issue limited to a few units. However, it is too soon to draw conclusions as to whether this is a software or hardware problem, and we also have to wait for Samsung to acknowledge the issue officially. Whatever the case, we hope it gets sorted out fast, so it doesn’t affect more customers.

These could be the color and storage options of the new Poco F2 Pro
The POCO F2 Pro is finally coming tomorrow and we have some final leaks before the release. The renders show the phone with a full display design, no punch hole or notch. The source also claims 4 different color variants: Black or Grey, Blue, Purple and White… pretty much like the K30 Pro.. It will also come in two storage options, 128GB and 256GB. The leaked price tag is still set to cost between €600 and €650 in Europe, depending on the taxes and mainly due to 5G. The report claims that some markets might not even get the 5G variants to bring the price down.
Apple AirPods Studio are the rumored upcoming over-ear headphones
Even with all of the delays Apple is still pushing to release at least some of their products this year. According to a new Bloomberg report, Apple’s over the ear headphones will be called AirPods Studio and they will feature a magnetic design which would make them customizable with interchangeable parts, like a selection of different headband styles. These are expected to come out some time later this year for a price around
$349.
We may have to wait until June for the launch of the Google Pixel 4a
As per usual, we’ve gotten a ton of rumors and leaks of the Google Pixel 4a, including retail boxes, sample images, and billboards. Google I/O was supposed to happen this week, before the pandemic. A leak suggested that the phone might be available for purchase on May 22nd, hinting to a May 15th launch date. According to a German publication and a Vodafone listing, that might not happen and we might have to wait until June 5 to be able to purchase. We know that Google’s Android 11 Event will be happening on June 3rd so Google is apparently waiting to announce it in that event.
Story of the day:
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 will get better display, but no Ultra variant
We have some new leaks for the Galaxy Note 20 where the source is stating that we might not get a Note 20 Ultra this year. Aparently we’re still only getting two Galaxy Notes, or only two with a flat slab design. When it comes to the Galaxy Note 20+, the display will grow from 6.8-in to 6.87-in, with the resolution increasing to 3096 x 1444p, resulting in a 497 PPI. It will have a 19.3:9 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate with LTPO for variable refresh rate. The regular Note 20 will have a 6.42-in display, still at 1080p+ resolution and a 120Hz mode as well. This LTPO tech offers 5-15% in power savings, when compared to a regular panel. Ice Universe also confirmed these leaks, but obviously we’ll have to get back to you on timing.
About Display Technology. With LTPO, you can vary the display refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz based on the content. In always on mode, 1Hz. In gaming modes, 120Hz. Big power advantage for Samsung. Apple won’t have LTPO until 2021.
Note 20 Display Leak: Note 20 will grow from 6.3" on the 10 to 6.42" on the Note 20. Resolution will increase slightly to 2345 x 1084, 404 PPI, 19.5:9 aspect ratio. 120Hz with LTPO, variable refresh, so lower power with 120Hz, great for always on mode. #GalaxyNote20
Note 20+ Display Leak Note 20+ will grow from 6.8" to 6.87", resolution will increase to 3096 x 1444 resulting in a 497 PPI, 19.3:9 aspect ratio. It will also have 120Hz refresh with LTPO, lowest power implementation of 120Hz due to variable refresh. #GalaxyNote20+
It seems that Samsung is ready to include LTPO displays to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 20. This would directly improve the battery life in Samsung’s future flagship in fifteen to twenty percent. The regular Note 20 would include a 6.42-inch display with a 2345 x 1084 resolution, 404 PPI, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a 120Hz variable refresh rate with LTPO. The Galaxy Note 20+ will also get improvements, as it will now include a 6.87-inch display with a 3096 x 1444 resolution, 19.3:9 aspect ratio, and it will also have a 120Hz variable refresh rate with LTPO.
No Galaxy Note Ultra model, but the Galaxy Fold 2 will be your Ultra. #GalaxyNote
