Flipkart launches Nokia Media Streamer for Rs 3,499 in India

Continuing Flipkart’s branding partnership with Nokia, the e-commerce company has launched a new Nokia Media Streamer. The new Android-based streaming device for televisions is priced at Rs 3,499. It is set to go on sale on August 28 on Flipkart.

The Nokia Media Streamer comes with a dedicated remote. It enables Google Assistant support, and also has hotkeys for Netflix and Zee5. The device runs Android TV 9 Pie. It offers up to full-HD resolution streaming, and has built-in Chromecast and support for Dolby Audio. 

The Flipkart Nokia Media Streamer comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It is powered by an unspecified quad-core processor, paired with a Mali 450 GPU. The device is also said to support various apps on the Google Play Store.

Flipkart Quick launched; Promises 90-minute hyperlocal delivery

Flipkart has launched a hyperlocal delivery service called Flipkart Quick. It aims to deliver products within 90 minutes. It will offer a catalog of over 2000 products that includes digitizing local kiranas. The service will have categories like Grocery, Fresh, Dairy, Meat, Mobiles, Electronics Accessories, Stationery Items and Home Accessories. 

For Flipkart Quick, customers can choose between getting their product delivered within 90 minutes of ordering or select a 2-hour window according to their convenience. Further, the company will charge a minimum delivery fee of Rs 29. The products can be ordered between 6 AM to midnight.

Flipkart Quick will first go live in Bengaluru in select neighborhoods including. It includes Whitefield, Panathur, HSR Layout, BTM Layout, Banashankari, KR Puram, and Indira Nagar.

Flipkart buys Walmart India Business to launch Flipkart Wholesale in India

Flipkart has announced Flipkart Wholesale, a digital marketplace to serve local kirana stores and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in India. It is buying 100 percent stake in Walmart India, which is Walmart’s subsidiary that operates the Best Prime cash-and-carry business in the country. With this acquisition, Flipkart will take on Amazon and Reliance Industries’ JioMart in India.

Flipkart Wholesale is said to begin its operations in August. It will initially offer piloting services for the grocery and fashion categories. The company says local manufacturers and sellers have partnered with the Flipkart Wholesale business. The partners are claimed to receive a broader reach across the country. However, the names of initial partners are yet to be revealed.

“With the launch of Flipkart Wholesale, we will now extend our capabilities across technology, logistics and finance to small businesses across the country,” said Kalyan Krishnamurthy, Chief Executive Officer, Flipkart Group.

Sony PS5 is teased at Flipkart, while Amazon confirms late 2020 launch

We are still waiting for the official price and launch date of the next Sony PlayStation 5, but while we expect, we can take a look at some of the images that have been posted on Flipkart and Amazon.

According to teaser pages that went live over at Amazon and Flipkart, we can confirm that the new PlayStation 5 will arrive sometime in late 2020. Both sites posted images of the standard and the digital edition of these new gaming consoles, as well as the accessories that you will need to have a better gaming experience. We find the DualSense Wireless Controller, the PULSE 3D Wireless headset, Media Remote, DualSense Charging Station, and HD Camera.

We can even take a look at some of the games that will be available to play, such as Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Horizon Forbidden West, Gran Turismo 7, and more.
