It’s still not wise to count out an April launch for next-gen 10.5-inch iPad Pro with slim bezels

That oft-rumored next-gen iPad Pro with unusually thin bezels and a 10.5-inch screen may have entered production already ahead of a limited April release.

Supply chain sources strongly believe new iPads will (quietly) see daylight this month

We still don't know if Apple has two, three or even four new iPads in the pipeline, but we may find out in just a few days, according to reputable analysts.

That 10.5-inch next-gen iPad Pro is essentially confirmed for a launch… someday

It could arrive to market in April, May or even June, alongside two or three other iOS tablets, but this 2017 iPad Pro likely sports a 10.5-inch display.

Next-gen iPad trio again rumored to include ‘low-priced’ 9.7-incher, no Mini variant

Video killed the radio star, “iPhablets” did the same with 4-inch iPhones, and now it seems the once uber-popular iPad mini is about to be sacrificed in the name of progress as well.

The reportedly “disrupted” 2017 iPad lineup has been rumored time and time again to shake things up in terms of their predecessors’ screen sizes, possibly including at least one trendy bezelless model. Reputable KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims this “narrow bezel design”-sporting high-ender will measure between 10 and 10.5 inches in diagonal, thus likely squeezing into the traditional body of a 9.7-inch iPad.

Meanwhile, the next-gen 9.7-incher should actually be the “low-priced option”, replacing 7.9-inchers at the base of the totem pole, with a “second generation of the existing 12.9” iPad Pro” allegedly set to complete the Q2 2017 trio.

Unsurprisingly, it sounds like only the two fancier, larger variants will pack an A10X chip manufactured by TSMC on a 10nm node, whereas the “entry-level”, lower-cost 9.7-inch 2017 iPad is currently expected to settle for last year’s Apple-designed A9X processor, but produced by Samsung this time around.

Unfortunately, the rest of the specifications, as well as the no doubt revised branding strategy, still remain under wraps. What’s practically guaranteed is a hike in the family’s average selling price, and a smaller decline in yearly shipments than before, to 35 million units or so.

10.9-inch bezelless iPad also on the table, claims Barclays

More news from Barclays Research today indicates that the iPhone 8 won’t be the only bezelless game in Cupertino. In fact, a new 10.9-inch model iPad may make first waves with its lack of side bezels.

Rumors have told us to brace for three iPad releases, all of them under the “Pro” moniker, sometime next spring. Two screen sizes seem to waver around the 9.7 inch range and the 12.9 inch range. One form factor is said to feature a 7.9-inch screen — an “iPad Pro mini,” if you will.

But analysts now claim that there will be a new iPad with a 10.9-inch screen and the physical dimensions of the existing 9.7-inch form factor. Furthermore, the new 9.7-inch iPad Pro might only be “pro” in its name as it is expected to be sold as a “low-cost” tablet, along side that 7.9-inch model.

In other words, we’re probably looking at two pairs of new iPads with different target markets rather than three iPad Pros next year. But the waiting continues anyways.

Zagg unleashes two new versatile Pro keyboard cases for iPad Pro 9.7

Now that it’s become clear as day Apple has no intentions to unveil any new iPad this fall, it’s probably time to reconsider last year’s 12.9-inch Pro model or the spring 2016-released 9.7-incher.The latter in particular may appeal to folks incurably in love with that footprint and aspect ratio, given the next-gen mid-sized iPad Pro is likely to add roughly a centimeter ...

watchOS 3, iOS 10 released, but take your time with it

In another day or two, we’ll probably have to publish a quick story about how fast iOS 10 is being adopted and the torrents of people finding major, iPhone- or iPhone-bricking problems with the update. Apple earnings on the upper end of estimates, but forecast is still bleak

Apple has published its third-quarter figures for fiscal year 2016 and, like last quarter, they are not good.It made $42.4 billion in sales revenue, a 15 percent decline year-on-year. The number is on the upper end of Apple’s target range and about what Wall Street expected. Expenses were up, but on the lower end of expectations. Still, operating income crashed by more than 28 percent to $10.1 billion. Net income was down a similar proportion to just under $7.8 billion.Product sales slipped again ...
