Well, there are still a couple of weeks left in 2020, and it seems that Apple may be ready to give us one last hardware announcement, without the need for a special event.
According to an internal memo obtained by the guys over at MacRumors, Apple could’ve informed service providers that there are AppleCare-related changes on the way. These changes could also come with a specific time and date, as they would take place on Tuesday, December 8 at 5:30 am Pacific Time. What’s more interesting is that this memo advises technicians “to prepare for new product SKUs, new/updated product descriptions, and new/updated product pricing, according to the memo.”
Now, this isn’t the first time that we see a memo like this, as Apple has sent previous memos with almost identical content ahead of product announcements. Take the launch of the iPhone 12 as an example. Apple also advised technicians to prepare for AppleCare-related changes, which include new product SKUs, new/updated product descriptions, and price changes. However, the difference is found in the event’s date and time held on October 13, around 10 am Pacific Time.
This means that we may get a new press release from Apple introducing new products. Cupertino has previously introduced important products via a press release, such as the new 13-inch MacBook Pro released in May 2020, or the 16-inch MacBook Pro, released in November last year, both powered by Intel processors.
You'll get a Christmas surprise from Apple(PS:Winter exclusive、good for winter)

To make things even more interesting, well-known leakerL0vetodream released a tweet claiming that we would get a Christmas surprise from Apple. Now we only have to wait less than a week to see that Cupertino has up its sleeve, as we are still waiting for several new Apple products, like the unreleased AirTags, the new Apple-branded Headphones aka AirPods Studio, and more. Whatever the case, we will be on the lookout for any possible changes or announcements on Apple Newsroom next Tuesday.

Several new rumors concerning the iPhone 12 lineup have started to show up as we get closer to the launch of new Samsung and Google devices. We have recently seen that Apple may be planning on giving us a new iPhone 12 mini, and the reasons why we’re not getting 120Hz refresh rate displays until next year.
The new iPhone 12 may be closer than expected, as new information reveals the date for the next Apple event. Rumors had suggested a mid-October event, but according to a tipster who contacted the guys over at Apple Insider, Apple will launch the new iPhone 12 lineup on Tuesday, October 13, and he also claims that preorders will start on Friday, October 16.
Now, this information allegedly comes from someone who claims to work for a carrier in the Netherlands, so you may want to take this rumor with some salt. There is no real evidence backing up this, other than maybe the fact that the message’s IP address is one controlled by a carrier’s corporate network.
Since we’re talking carriers and the upcoming iPhone lineup, we should also take a look at England, as British Telecom CEO Marc Allera claims that the Apple is close to launching 5G iPhones in days, while giving an internal presentation for BT and EE.
“We are just days away from Apple’s next major launch, a 5G iPhone, which will be a huge boost for 5G,” said Allera to employees. “Teams in all parts of consumers have been preparing all year to win this launch, and be Europe’s number one partner for Apple.”
Said presentation also included Apple’s SVP of Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue, as he “appeared in a brief clip, congratulating EE for becoming the first carrier offering consumers smartphone plans that are bundled with multiple Apple services.”

We are getting more and more information about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Fold 2. It is believed that this device may launch on the same day as the new Galaxy Note 20 series and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. Unfortunately, it won’t arrive with stylus support. Now, we get more details about its specs and features that are quite interesting.

According to a new report from South Korea, the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 will support 120Hz refresh rates. It would also feature a 7.7-inch display with a 2213×1689 resolution and an 11.8:9 aspect ratio inside. The phone’s outer cover would go from 6.23 to 4.6-inches when compared to its predecessor. According to this report, both the Galaxy Fold 2 and the Note 20 series will be available on August 20.

B&H also has the 12.9in 2018 iPad Pro for $250 off, leaving the Wi-Fi only, 256GB of storage variant for $899. The Sony Xperia 1 is also $152 off, leaving that at $798 for the 128GB of storage configuration. We also have more deals on Acer Predator PCs, Samsung QLED TVs, Soundbars and more in the links in the description.
Samsung just launched a new mobile money management system which pretty much competes with the Apple Card. It’s called Samsung Money by SoFi but unlike the Apple Card, it isn’t really a credit card. It’s actually more of a bank account or credit union where you get a MasterCard debit card that doesn’t show any of your information and it works with the Samsung Pay app. Your Samsung Money account will be FDIC insured for $1.5M and users benefit from Samsung’s “defense-grade” security from Samsung Knox. It’ll be available later this summer exclusively for US customers who own a Galaxy smartphone, Samsung promises a secure experience with no account fees.
We got some quarter results from Omdia and it just confirms that Apple made a big dent on the market with the iPhone 11. Last year the iPhone XR was the number 1 smartphone for Q1 with 13.6M units shipped, but this year the iPhone 11 surpassed it with 19.5M units, despite the pandemic. The phone that follows is the Samsung Galaxy A51 which sold 6.8M units and the iPhone XR is still in the top 5 with 4.7M units. Omdia still anticipates however, that smartphone sales will be down for the rest of the year due to the pandemic so numbers might change for Q2.
Google is finally releasing the first Public Beta of Android 11 on June 3rd during their Beta Launch Show. If you want, you’ll be able to attend via YouTube through the Android Developers channel. The event will focus on the different announcements related to all the new features coming with Android 11, as well as Q&As with Google experts and more. We were also expecting to hear something about the Pixel 4a but with the recent delays that apparently won’t be the case. You can check for the events details in the links in our description. It’s not clear which devices will support the public beta on day one, but if you’re not using a Pixel, yeah that’s gonna be a tough one.
There’s been several rumors that we’ll finally be getting the Galaxy Fold’s successor with the Note 20 this year. Now we got a new report from a South Korean publication that claims that the Fold 2 has just entered mass production. This means we could start getting some official details as early as June. According to the Insiders, the Fold 2 will bring Samsung’s Ultra Thin Glass and it will cost less, despite upgrading to a 120Hz display. Recently we got some patents from Samsung which described how Samsung plans to make Foldables water resistant but it’s not clear if the Fold 2 will bring this feature. The company is expecting to sell 2.5-3M units this year, surpassing the original Fold.
It looks like we will have to wait for the iPhone 12 line-up after all this year. According to a new report, this year’s iPhones might be launched until November due to the pandemic. The report also predicts that Apple has 35M units in production for Q2 of 2020 which is 13% lower than what they had last year, but giving the time, we’re not sure if they’re talking about iPhone 12 production, which would be kind of early, or iPhone 11 production which is likely to take a dip. Regardless, we’re expecting 4 different iPhones, all 4 with OLED displays, 5G connectivity, a smaller notch and a boxier design which is reminiscent of the iPhone 4. We’re also hearing of different spec bumps like up to 6GB of RAM in the Pro models and the base storage at 128GB.

We may see the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 launch in the same Unpacked event as the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series. According to a South Korean publication, Samsung has begun to mass-produce the Galaxy Fold 2. This may give Samsung enough time to release this new foldable in August.
It seems that the COVID-19 pandemic isn’t going to affect the launch of Samsung’s new flagship devices for the second half of 2020. We had received information directly from Samsung that placed the arrival of these devices in the second half of the year, but they didn’t specify a date. Now, it seems that the next Unpacked event won’t suffer delays, like other companies.
The new Samsung Galaxy Fold is supposed to arrive with a lower price tag, a better display that could reach 120Hz refresh rates. Unfortunately, don’t expect a waterproof Fold 2, but we at least we know that Samsung is working on waterproofing it Samsung’s foldable devices, or a least that’s what these patents make us believe. Samsung is also expected to ship between 2.5 and 3 million Galaxy Fold 2 units this year, or that’s what the market forecasts suggest.
“Accordingly, an aspect of the disclosure is to provide an electronic device including a waterproof structure for protecting one or more parts disposed in the interior and on the exterior of the electronic device, by providing the waterproof structure of the electronic device that employs a hinge structure of a foldable electronic device.”
