The upcoming phone is being referred to as LG ‘Rollable.’ Previously, it has been claimed to be named ‘LG Slide‘. Recently, a report claimed that the company is working on bringing the LG Rollable to the market in the first half of 2021. Now, specs and price of the upcoming phone have appeared online.
These come from popular tipster Tron on Twitter. The tipster revealed that LG Rollable’s launch is scheduled for March but it could be postponed to June. In another tweet, he claimed that the launch is set for May. However, this reiterates with previous reports that claimed that the smartphone will launch sometime in the first half of 2021.
The LG Slide aka LG Rollable has already been registered in South Korea’s carrier intranet database. It carries the carrier model number LM-R910N and the unlocked model number is OMD-LM-R910N. The smartphone is rumored to come with a rollable OLED display. It could feature a 7.4-inch Rollable display. There are different aspect ratios that it is expected to work in.
For instance, there might be a Phone mode with 2428 × 1080 pixel resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Similarly, Video mode could have a 2428 × 1366 pixel resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio, while it could also include a Productivity mode with 2428 × 1600 pixel resolution and a 3:2 aspect ratio. The LG Rollable is tipped to sport 16GB of RAM and be powered by the latest Snapdragon 888 SoC. Further, it might pack a 4,200mAh battery.
The tipster claims that LG Rollable could cost USD 2,359, which could make it the costliest smartphone in its segment. The previous trademark patent for the LG Rollable also suggests that the new device may also feature stylus support.

Google Assistant-enabled smart displays and speakers can now stream Apple Music
Now let’s talk about the recent moves that Apple Music has just made. I mean, Apple One was interesting enough for me to be willing to pay for it, but it seems that now Apple might have added a nail to its HomePod coffin. Last week, Apple Music rolled out support to Amazon’s A Speakers and now, Apple Music it’s making its way to Google Assistant enabled smart devices. Starting today, you can ask Google to play Apple Music on your Nest devices, that includes the Nest Audio, Hub Max and others. Now, the service is rolling out in the US, UK, Japan, Germany and France as of today but they are planning for support in other regions as well. Of course, you’ll have to pair your account with your Google account and then you should be good to go. And yes, I do agree that it’s not like if the HomePod Mini doesn’t have advantages, like Privacy which we still haven’t been able to confirm, and also sound quality, but at its price, I’m even debating paying for Spotify anymore.

Now, let’s talk about LG’s Project Explorer as, the company has done a great job putting themselves back in the spotlight thanks to devices like the Wing. We know that the Wing was just the first phone that was a part of this project, with the next one reportedly being that rollable phone dubbed the “LG Slide”. According to a tipster on Twitter, the LG Slide was just spotted in South Korea’s carrier intranet database. This revealed the carrier and unlocked model number, hinting to the fact that we’re getting close to the actual launch. Going from what we’ve heard from past reports, this phone is expected to bring a rollable OLED display which extends to give you a bigger canvas, and other trademarks hint that we might get stylus support. We’re expecting this to launch sometime in 2021, with multiple reports claiming that it is coming in March so we’ll see. Let’s just hope they add a flagship processor to match the flagship price this time.
We have leaked details of the upcoming OPPO Find X3 Pro
Let’s move on to OPPO as, we’re expecting the company to launch three different phones in Q1 of next year according to nonother than Evan Blass. He claims that the most important one will be the Find X3 Pro which is codenamed Fussi. This phone will bring the new Snapdragon 888 SoC and OPPO plans to market it with something along the lines of “Awaken Color”. This is because one of the main, if not the main feature will be the new display which is a 6.7in 1440p display with a 525ppi. It also has end-to-end 10-bit color support along with an adaptive-dynamic frame rate, from 10-120Hz, kind of like the Note 20 Ultra. Now, when it comes to the cameras, apparently we’ll be getting two 50MP image sensors from Sony, one for the primary and one for the ultra wide, as well as a 13MP telephoto and a 3MP macro camera.. Yay. It will be capable of 25x zoom which will also be a key point for OPPO,. Evan also mentions that when it comes to design, it will be 8mm thick and 190 grams, and it will bring a ceramic matte-frosted glass at the back in black and blue color ways at launch. Other specs also include a 4500 mAh battery and 65W charging. Again, OPPO should announce these in Q1 of 2020, but they will most likely release until Q2.
Apple is keen on periscope cameras, but they might not appear on iPhones until 2023
Now let’s talk Apple and camera capabilities for iPhones, as even if the 12 Pro Max is great, it’s not really that much better than everything else out there. So far we’ve had two different reports claiming that we’ll be getting a periscope lens on iPhones and now, this third one makes it look like it’s actually going to happen. This report comes from the Elec and it reiterates that Cupertino is looking to improve their zoom features by using SEMCO periscope lenses that could offer up to 10x optical zoom but, it gives somewhat of a larger timeline, suggesting it could be either in 2022 or 2023. Just to recap, Apple has been patenting solutions for periscopic zoom lens since 2014 but, the company has never actually put one on the iPhone. Now that they’ve been able to do away with the patent issues that held them back, it looks like they’re getting ready. Last week we talked about how they are already in talks with suppliers, with SEMCO and LG probably supplying these modules. And we’re going to go with Ming Chi Kuo’s timeline which claims that we’ll be getting these with the 2022 iPhones.

Ambitious Apple prepares a 32-core chip for high-end Macs
And finally the hottest news today have to do with Apple Silicon Macs, because if you thought the M1 was great, Apple is clearly not even close to being done. So far, we’ve got three devices running on the M1 processor which is already pretty powerful but, we assume it’s also the source for certain limitations, like only having two USB C ports, and it looks like Apple wants to go ALL OUT with their upcoming releases. According to a new report from Bloomberg, Apple is making a series of new Mac processors that is aimed at outperforming Intel’s best. The report claims that the next two series of Apple chips will be more ambitious than expected, with more CPU cores and even more GPU cores. So alright, the M1 comes with an 8 core CPU and either 7 or 8 core GPUs. Well this report claims that Cupertino is currently testing 16 and 32-core models. But wait there’s more, they’re also working on chips with up to 128 cores for either late 2021 or 2022. Currently they are working on a processor design with 16 high performance CPU cores which might make it to the upcoming MacBook Pros we’re expecting. So if you think about it, we’re expecting new MacBook Pros, new iMacs and possibly a new Mac Pro that could be half the size of the current one. And with this report saying that if Apple delivers they will significantly outpace the latest Intel chips, these new computers should be on a whole different league when compared to Intel’s Xeon or AMDs Threadrippers.

The official news, as per usual, the official news today begin with deals and, you won’t believe what Apple products are on sale. Remember those new Macs that were announced yesterday? Well the brand new, M1 Apple Silicon Macs are already on sale. The 13in MacBook Pro is available for $1232 instead of the original $1299 price tag for the entry level variant. The MacBook Air is around $50 off, leaving it at $948. Finally, the Mac Mini is down to $663 for the entry level variant. OnePlus Nord SE with 65W fast charging is in development: Report
We know that OnePlus has been having a pretty busy year, especially when it comes to their Nord line up which recently expanded to the US. Well, speaking on that, a new report claims that they are prepping another Nord device for the US. This device would be called the Nord SE and is being developed under the codename “Ebba”. It reportedly brings a 4500 mAh battery and it supports 65W charging, giving you a full charge in under 40 minutes. On the front we might get an OLED panel unlike the ones we got with the recent Nord, and sadly we still have no details on the cameras or processor. OnePlus apparently hasn’t settled on a launch date just yet, pun intended, but we might get it shortly after the OnePlus 9 launch which will apparently happen in March.
Samsung Galaxy S20 and Note 20 devices are experiencing wireless charging issues
Let’s talk about Samsung but, not for Galaxy S21 leaks. Several users have been complaining about wireless charging issues, ever since the latest firmware update. These issues are happening on the Galaxy Note 20 and S20 lines and according to the users, your wireless charging gets constantly interrupted every few seconds. Some of these are third party chargers but, they claim that everything was fine with that same charger until that firmware update happened. We’re not sure if it was the October or September patch but, users have tried even factory resetting their devices and it doesn’t help out. We’ll see if Samsung puts out statement or releases a hot fix, we’ll keep you posted.
LG’s new rollable phone may be called LG Slide
Let’s talk about LG as, the company has been on kind of a roll lately… pun intended. But yeah, they got back in the spotlight thanks to the Wing, and they quickly teased that they were working on a roll-able smartphone as part of their Explorer Project. Well, the company just trademarked the name “LG Slide” in the EUIPO which, is kind of a clear hint as to what this devices is going to be called. LG has trademarked other names like “The Roll” before but, the LG Slide sounds cleaner. For those of you who haven’t seen the leaks, this phone should slide out or roll from it’s regular state to reveal a much larger canvas, it will most likely be aimed at both content consumption and productivity. It’s pretty much a Galaxy Fold that doesn’t Fold.. It rolls. We should expect it some time in Q1 next year. So, are you guys interested in a phone like this? Because it is definitely cool to see.
iPhone 13 may arrive with F/1.8 ultrawide lens and LTPO displays
New iPhone SE not coming in the first half of 2021: Ming-Chi Kuo
Let’s talk about upcoming iPhones and Ming Chi Kuo reports. Well, according to a new alleged report, it won’t happen in the first half of 2020, quick only means that the possibility of another iPhone SE is not happening yet. It claims that there is some stiff competition between four Apple suppliers to be in charge of the iPhone 13’s camera and this might hinder the iPhone SE’s production. So, apparently Apple is putting their effort in to the iPhone 13 which we’ll talk about soon and that might move the iPhone SE to the back seat. Now, we don’t know if this phone will be getting a redesign like rumors hinted to the previous one but we should technically still expect it next year, just not in the first half of the year. Let’s move on to the iPhone 13. On his most recent note, Kuo claims that we’ll be getting 4 iPhones once again and that the Pros will get a hardware update when it comes to the cameras. He claims that the ultra wide lens will be an F/1.8 6P lens with autofocus. This means that we should get noticeable improvements over the current iPhones which pack an F/2.4 5P fixed focus ultra wide lens. Another report claims that these iPhones’ display will use 10-20% less power than the 12 line. This is because we’ll be reportedly getting LTPO displays which are already on the Apple Watch. This will also allow for high refresh rate, finally, while using less power. Other rumors for the iPhone 13 also hint to an on-display fingerprint sensor and a smaller notch.

Google Account and Google Photos’ storage policies will change, for worse?
Now let’s talk about Google and probably one of the services that I recommend most, which I might not recommend any more. Google just made some major changes on its storage policies, and unless you own a Pixel, prepare your wallet. The first is that Google is now making Google Docs, Sheets and Slides count toward storage caps on your Google Drive, whether you’re on the base 15GB or pay extra. The problem is Google Photos. In the past you had free unlimited storage for high quality photos and video, which Google would convert and optimize for you. Well as of June 1st, 2021, unless you own a Pixel, those high quality photos and videos will also count toward your storage limitations. This is a major problem. In the past I would recommend that people with limited storage simply use Google Photos to back everything up, but now that could become a recurring monthly fee depending on how much you’ve backed up. In Google’s defense, they’re pretty much following the practice that every other company in the industry was providing, but it makes you wonder what holds anyone back from just getting 2TB on Office 365, backup your photos on OneDrive, and get superior solution to Google Docs with Microsoft Office apps.
