The Galaxy Alpha and Note 4: proof positive that removable batteries don’t have to make your phone ugly

When it comes to cellular phones, removable batteries are nothing new, even the very earliest phones had a battery that you could remove and replace. Historically, this was more a necessity than a convenience. Until the last few years, battery technology suffered from various limitations that necessitated their ability to be removed and replaced fairly frequently. For their size, energy capacity wasn’t all that great. To recap, 64-bit should be faster and enable the inclusion of more RAM as compared to 32-bit, but the OS and apps will need some fairly heavy work before they’ll be able to take advantage of the advancements. Due to that, processor manufactures, app developers, and OS authors find themselves in the classic “chicken or the egg” conundrum: you can’t have one without the other. ...
