OnePlus Buds go official with environmental noise reduction tech, and they cost just $79

The leaks and speculations are finally over. OnePlus has today launched the OnePlus Buds, its first true wireless earbuds, alongside the OnePlus Nord mid-ranger. They come in Nord Blue, White, and Gray colors with a matching color profile for the charging case. They pack three onboard microphones that employ noise-reduction algorithms to eliminate ambient noise during voice calls.

Talking about the specs, the OnePlus Buds are claimed to last 30 hours on a full charge, while charging it for 10 minutes will deliver enough juice for 10 hours of music playback. OnePlus has equipped its TWS earbuds with 13.4mm drivers that offer support for Dirac Audio Tuner and Dolby Atmos for a stereo effect. OnePlus also claims that the Fnatic Mode will bring audio latency down to 103ms.

OnePlus Buds rock a half in-ear design and come with an IPX4 certification, which means they can handle sweat and occasional liquid splashes with ease. The charging case has a USB Type-C port and pairing is facilitated over Bluetooth 5.0 standard. OnePlus Buds also support double tap and long press gestures, and thanks to Fast Pair, connecting them to your smartphone will be quick and convenient.

As for what you pay for them, OnePlus Nord earbuds have been priced at $79 and will be up for grabs starting July 27 in white, while the gray color option will go on sale starting next month. For buyers in India, OnePlus is charging Rs. 4,990 for its first truly wireless earbuds, but a concrete market availability date is yet to be revealed.

OnePlus Buds will cost less than $100 as per an official teaser

OnePlus Buds, the company’s first true wireless earbuds, will debut alongside the OnePlus Nord mid-ranger on July 21. A recent leak also gave us our first detailed look at the upcoming earbuds, but so far, the biggest piece of puzzle that has so far remained a mystery is the price. But thankfully, we now have an idea.

The latest teaser from the official OnePlus Instagram account suggests that the OnePlus Buds won’t touch the three-figure price mark. Unfortunately, the only hint we have is the blank ‘$XX.XX’ price tag, but it is assurance enough that we can expect a sub-$100 price for OnePlus’ upcoming true wireless earbuds.

Here’s your first official look at the upcoming OnePlus Buds in all three colors

OnePlus Buds – the first true wireless earbuds from the company – will debut on July 21 alongside the OnePlus Nord. However, we won’t have to wait too long to see what they look like. The folks over at 9to5Google extracted the official design renders of the OnePlus Buds from the latest OxygenOS update that was rolled out for the OnePlus 8 series.

The OnePlus Buds will come in a trio of colors- black, blue, and white. They borrow some design elements from the OnePlus Bullets and it is clearly evident from the shape of the earpiece. OnePlus’s TWS earbuds will offer Dolby Atmos support and are also claimed to bring a “Find My Device” feature to the table.

Illustrations extracted from the code also hint at support for touch controls that will likely be used for calling, controlling music playback, and summoning the voice assistant, alongside fast pairing. The charging case is oval-shaped and has a round power button on one side while the tiny indicator light is on the other side.

New OnePlus Buds could feature noise cancelation during calls

We are just days away from the official launch of the OnePlus Nord and the new OnePlus Buds. However, OnePlus continues to tease its upcoming products, and this last teaser hints an awesome feature.

According to the latest teaser posted by OnePlus on Twitter, the new OnePlus Buds will feature noise-canceling while in a phone call. This will give users a better and clearer calling experience. However, this teaser also suggests that Noise cancelation may not be available while listening to music. We could be mistaken, or maybe OnePlus is trying to give us at least some new details during the presentation of these earbuds next Tuesday.

OnePlus Buds will Warp Charge technology for fast charging

OnePlus Buds are confirmed to be launching alongside the OnePlus Nord on July 21 in India. Ahead of the launch, the company is teasing its features one by one. The Buds are expected to deliver outstanding battery life as they will deliver up to 30 hours of battery life on a single charge of the case. Further, each earbud can individually support seven hours of non-stop playback.

Now, a new report from TechRadar says that the OnePlus Buds will use the company’s own Warp Charge technology that will charge the device for up to 10 hours of usage in just 10 minutes. The TWS earphones are said to pack a 430mAh Lithium-Ion battery and the charging speed will be capped at 5v 1.5A to avoid damage to the battery.

The company CEO has already revealed that OnePlus Buds will sport a “half-in-ear design”. It is aimed at increasing comfort level for the users by reducing the pressure inside the ear.

New OnePlus Buds will give you up to 30hrs of battery life

We have received new information concerning the OnePlus Buds. OnePlus has revealed some interesting details about its new wireless earbuds, which include outstanding battery life.

According to recent information posted by OnePlus in a forum post, the new OnePlus Buds will deliver up to 30 hours of battery life on a single charge of the case. This is possible because each earbud can individually support seven hours of non-stop playback. After that time, you will have to place the earbud back into its charging case and repeat the cycle. By doing so, you will get 30 hours of music playback before having to recharge the case.

“With the OnePlus Buds, we wanted to take away some of the “anxiety” that comes with that unpredictability. Here, we gave the OnePlus Buds industry-leading battery life.

“To be specific, they are good for over seven hours of continuous use, and can be fully topped up more than three times from just their charging case, giving you up to 30 hours of use before you have to plug in again.

“The most important thing is that, even as their batteries run for longer, the OnePlus Buds are still exceedingly light at just 4.6 grams, while the charging case is just 36 grams, so they’ll never be a burden in your pocket.”

You currently get 24 hours of playback from Apple’s AirPods, and 22 hours from the Samsung Galaxy Buds+, so six more hours of music playback is really great from OnePlus. These wireless earbuds will be officially launched next week, on July 21st, along with the budget-friendly OnePlus Nord.

OnePlus’ first true wireless earbuds are called OnePlus Buds, and they arrive on July 21

OnePlus has long been rumored to launch true wireless earbuds, but aside from leaks and a tonne of speculations, nothing concrete has materialized so far. Well, the wait is over. OnePlus has announced that it is launching its first true wireless earbuds on July 21, the same day its highly-anticipated OnePlus Nord smartphone also debuts.

So, what will they be called? OnePlus is calling them OnePlus Buds, for starters. “I know you guys have been asking for true wireless earphones. We heard you! See our first truly wireless earphones – OnePlus Buds on July 21 during the OnePlus Nord AR launch,” the company said in an official OnePlus forum post.

As of now, we’re totally in dark as to how the OnePlus Buds will look, their features, or how much they will cost. But as per leaked renders, they’ll look a lot like the first-gen AirPods, but with a more rounded main body and a charging case that resembles the one you get with the next Pixel Buds.

It seems that the OnePlus Buds may arrive alongside the OnePlus Nord

OnePlus just released their latest episode of their New Beginnings documentary where they talk about the first time they opened a Concept Store in India and their strong relationship with the Indian market as, we know that the Nord will be an exclusive phone to them and some countries in Europe. However, on other news, we’re also waiting for the OnePlus Buds which should be announced along with the Nord. These just went through a new certification in Finland, kinda confirming that we will be getting this soon as we’ve been seeing more and more certifications.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus 5G Mobile Platform with up to 3.1GHz core clock speed goes official

Qualcomm just announced their new Snapdragon 865+ SoC platform. It is still built on a 7nm process and it includes the Adreno 650 GPU and according to Qualcomm, it offers 10% faster graphics rendering than the previous version. It includes the Snapdragon X55 modem for 5G capabilities on both mm-wave and sub-6GHz bands. It brings support for LPDDR5 RAM and up to 16GB of LPDDR4X and a bunch of more upgrades. We have a full list of specs in the links in the description because it gets too technical and according to the announcement, the ROG Phone 3 and the new Lenovo Legion gaming phone. We’re also expecting it to come to at least one of the Note 20 variants and the Z Flip 5G.

We now have a leaked hands-on video of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra

So yeah, think about it.. First we get the event confirmation for the Galaxy Note 20, and then we get the 865+ announced. I hope Samsung finally differentiates the Note, but wait, there’s more. Remember those pictures of the Note we got yesterday? Now we have a full hands on video. On the video we can see the phone fully working and running Android 10. We’re also able to see it side to side when compared to the Note 10+ and pretty much like the leaks, the S Pen Slot and the speaker was moved to the left side. However, the S Pen will be the same but it’s getting a new pointer feature. We got to see some more close ups of the camera hump but sadly we didn’t get any more details on the specs. This phone has been tipped to come with the Snapdragon 865+ but this video didn’t shed light on that.

Samsung may not include an in-box charger with its future Galaxy phones

But alright enough with all the good news. Let’s discuss the negative portion. According to a new report from South Korea, Samsung might start shipping their future phones without a charger in the box. Quoting a SamMobile report, Sammy ships millions of phones a year and taking the charger from even the half of these phones would reduce a lot of costs for the company and would allow the company to price their smartphones more aggressively. Now, the original report mentions “some smartphones” without giving out any names, so these could be flagships or mid-rangers. We saw another report that this might happen with the Galaxy S21 or S30 but, it’s way too early to know that for sure. There’s no doubt that Samsung will be selling their chargers but, it raises the same concerns we have with Apple making this move like consumers buying cheap third party chargers.

Story of the day:

New iPhone 12 prices may go up, even without in-box earphones and chargers

New mini-LED 14-inch MacBook Pro could enter production in 2021

And finally the hottest news today have to do with Apple, but you’re gonna have to bare with me as these are two separate reports. On the first one, according to a Taiwanese report, Apple will be releasing the new 14in MacBook Pro with that miniLED display in Q1 of 2021, along with the refreshed 16in variant. We’re expecting 6 new products with miniLED displays next year and there’s a possibility that these new MacBook Pros will be powered by Apple Silicon. Now let’s just wonder what the price will be. Oh and speaking of the price, as for the second segment, according to a new research note provided to MacRumors, an analyst claims that even with the changes to the iPhone 12’s box, pricing for the 5.4in iPhone 12 will increase to $749 instead of the $699 we saw with the iPhone 11. According to him, this is because of the addition of 5G and the OLED display instead of the LCD we saw on the 11. He also says that because of 5G, consumers will accept it and it won’t affect the demand. Later on he also mentions that the 6.1in iPhone 12 will start at either $799 or $849, while the Pros will still start at $999 and $1099. This information contradicts the previous leaks we got from multiple trusted sources but, we’ll still take it into account. It seems that the OnePlus Buds may arrive alongside the OnePlus Nord

It seems that the OnePlus Nord may not launch alone. New leaks suggest that OnePlus is also getting ready to deliver more products, as its new OnePlus Buds have recently received certification from Finland’s SGS Fimko LTD.

The OnePlus Nord is scheduled to arrive on July 21, but it seems that it may launch alongside the new OnePlus Buds. These wireless earbuds show up with model number E501A, and with a charging case that may deliver a 5V/1.5A or 7.5W charging speed. This certification was issued since June 15, 2020, so we could see them launch soon enough.

OnePlus Buds in Black with a closed-fit design leaked

OnePlus has been long rumored to be working on a pair of truly wireless earbuds. Nothing has been officially confirmed yet, however, a leak recently claimed that OnePlus TWS earphones will be called OnePlus Buds. Now, a new leak has revealed that the earbuds will come in Black color.

The information comes from Twitter by Max J (@MaxJmb). It shows a sketch of the earbuds in black with red accents. The previous leak also included a sketch of OnePlus Buds and showed a round case with an LED in front that is likely to come on when charging.

The upcoming OnePLus TWS earphones are said to have support for touch controls, Google Assistant, and fast-pairing with OnePlus devices. Details like battery life and price are currently unknown. It could be unveiled alongside the OnePlus Nord in July.

OnePlus may once again deliver budget-friendly smartphones

There was a time when OnePlus used to be famous for delivering smartphones that would provide a near-flagship experience for less, almost half the price as the regular flagship devices on the market. However, the company has made several changes over the years, making the prices of their devices go up. Luckily, it seems that it will go back to making affordable smartphones.

OnePlus’s CEO, Pete Lau, explained during an interview with Fast Company that he wants the company to back to its roots and deliver a more affordable product offering. Even though he didn’t mention a specific name, we can assume that he may have been referring to the new OnePlus Z. He did however, say that this new affordable device would arrive soon, and he also said that there would be an announcement soon for India.

“OnePlus isn’t revealing any of those products yet, but a glimpse of the new strategy will arrive soon with an announcement for India. Later this year, the company hopes to bring lower-priced devices to other markets, including North America and Europe.”

The interview also picks up OnePlus’ desire to build its own ecosystem, which would’ve started with the OnePlus TVs that were presented last year, and the upcoming OnePlus Buds.

Apple might offer health monitoring capabilities on AirPods in the next few years

Speaking of earbuds, it looks like Apple wants to bring some health improvements to the AirPods in the next few years. According to two new DigiTimes reports, Apple has roped in ASE Technology to supply components to add ambient light sensors for health monitoring duties. These light sensors would pass light through your skin to check blood movement in the vessels to detect your heart rate and any other data. However, this would require a redesign for the AirPods and it will most likely come in the next 1-2 years.

Motorola RAZR successor’s specs allegedly leaked, arriving in September

Last week Lenovo’s South African GM leaked that Motorola is working on a second generation Moto RAZR and now, leaks naturally follow. We have some new leaked specs from XDA that include a Snapdragon 765G SoC which is certainly an upgrade from the 710 we got with the original RAZR. It also packs 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It’ll bring a 2845 mAh battery as well as a 48MP main camera and a 20MP selfie shooter. It’s also expected to bring 5G, but only on sub 6GHz networks. This phone should come in September according to the leaks the GM shared.

Story of the day:

Galaxy Note 20+ leaked renders show a familiar design and ginormous camera bump

We have some new renders for the Galaxy Note 20 and they actually come from OnLeaks this time. They’re slightly different than the ones we got last week but retain some of the same elements. According to the leaks, this phone will bring a 6.9in AMOLED display with the centered punch hole. Now, at the back we have a huge camera hump that might even be bigger than the Galaxy S20 Ultra. We have three lenses that kind of remind us of the iPhone 11 line up because of the rings for each camera, as well as a ToF sensor. We’re also able to see the periscope zoom lens but it’s not clear if this one will have 100x capabilities like the S20 Ultra did. This leaks also retain the changes like moving the buttons to the right and the S Pen to the left of the phone.
