OPPO Find X3 Pro gets a vegan leather variant but it is limited to China

When OPPO unveiled the Find X3 Pro earlier this month, the first thing people noticed was the glossy back. The smartphone ditched the leather finish found on the predecessor in favor of a mirror finish. Many reviewers noted how OPPO should bring a vegan leather variant to the market. Now, OPPO has finally launched one! However, you won’t be able to buy it yet since it is limited to China.

The OPPO Find X3 Pro is receiving a new color variant, which is named Cosmic Mocha. It comes with a light gold allure frame that coincides with the camera island design on the back, with a vegan leather exterior. Further, the signature Oppo logo sits at the bottom right of the back – crusted on the vegan leather finish. This is the fourth color variant of the Pro model. It is priced at RMB 5,999 (around $915).

The OPPO flagship features a 6.7-inch QHD+ (3216 x 1440 pixels) HDR 10+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1300 nits of peak brightness. It recently gained support for adaptive refresh rate that allows it to reduce its power consumption by 50 percent. It can go as low as 1Hz and as high as 120Hz. Under the hood lies the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC that is paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage. It packs a 4,500mAh battery with support for proprietary 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 Flash Charge technology that promises up to 40% juice with just 10 minutes of charging.

On the optics front, you get a quad-camera setup that is highlighted by a 50MP main camera with Sony IMX776 sensor, backed by OIS and an f/1.8 lens. It is accompanied by a 50MP wide-angle camera that also employs the same Sony sensor. It offers 110-degree field of view. Then there’s a 13MP telephoto camera on the phone offers up to 5x hybrid optical and 20x digital zoom. Plus, you get a 3MP macro lens that is claimed to offer up to 60x magnification.

OPPO Find X3 Pro gets adaptive refresh rate of 1Hz-120Hz with an update

Within a few days of launch, OPPO has started rolling out a new update for its new flagship. The Find X3 Pro is receiving an update that brings an adaptive refresh rate of between 1Hz and 120Hz. It seems similar to what OnePlus has announced to offer with the OnePlus 9 Pro. OPPO says that its smartphone is designed to recognise which app is running on the system to accordingly adjust screen’s refresh rate. While Xiaomi and Samsung also offer adaptive refresh rate on their flagships, none can go as low as 1Hz.

The latest development comes from Weibo where OPPO announced the new update. It said that the new adaptive refresh rate update on the Find X3 Pro is aimed at reducing power consumption by 50 percent. The new feature allows the phone to adjust refresh rate according to the apps being used on the phone to provide optimised results.

For instance, if you are watching a movie, the refresh rate will be between 24Hz and 60Hz. If you are scrolling, the screen will move at 120Hz However, if you are using an e-reader app or looking at some of your photos the Find X3 Pro refresh rate will drop down to 1Hz. The slower the refresh rate, the less power the display consumes.

On the other hand, the OnePlus 9 Pro will also support an adaptive refresh rate that will allow the screen to go as low as 1Hz. OnePlus is calling its new form of OLED display “Fluid Display 2.0.” It will be a combination of Samsung’s OLED panel and a bunch of exclusive OnePlus software optimizations and tunings. The low refresh rate will allow OnePlus 9 Pro to consume less power when the screen is sitting idle. The Find X3 Pro refresh rate seems to work the same way.

OPPO Find X3 Pro review: the wow got conventional (video)

Anton D. Nagy contributed to this post.

For the longest time, the OPPO Find lineup has been more about Finding innovation than restraint. The Find 7 wowed many of us with its specs and QuadHD display for the time. The Find X was… Well, crazy. It took the design and motorized cameras more seriously than any other, and then the Find X2 Pro didn’t just go Periscopic but also taught the new kids how to do it in a compact body. There’s never been anything conventional about them, so of course, it creates this sort of expectation of another vanguard phone for 2021.

Well, this is the Find X3 Pro, what OPPO dubs as the Billion Color phone, and what I’m gonna call one of the sleekest, best-looking phones of the year so far, but not necessarily what I’d call a successor to what made the brand popular. So yeah, it’s not crazy, there’s no wow factor, but if refinement was the intent, there’s a lot of that here. This is our OPPO Find X3 Pro review.

You know, I saw the leaks, and sure, I also thought it looked a lot like an iPhone, but I think that’s a huge oversimplification. See, usually, smartphones in this category are large and chunky just to fit all their hardware, but this is probably the thinnest and lightest flagship I’ve tried yet.

Hardware

To provide some context, it’s just 193 grams, making it around 35 to 36 grams lighter than the 12 Pro Max and S21 Ultra respectively. It’s also just 8.2mm thick, leaving the Ultra trailing behind at 8.9, though the 7.4mm on iPhone is hard to catch up with. I don’t usually make a big deal about these things, but because the body is narrower than average, somehow the weight distribution makes this phone feel almost hollow and effortless to use.

OPPO Find X3 Pro review

Now, it does seem like if 2021 is the year of the contour camera, but this is a very different approach. There’s a whole scientific explanation into how it takes 40 hours and more than 100 processes to create this kind of a curve, and I like it. It’s more cohesive and helps prevent lint from being stuck in the corners. If anything I’d say the curves make the hump look larger than it is because it doesn’t really protrude much. It is elegant, I’ll give you that, but that’s so long as you can keep it clean. I might recommend you try the Blue option cause this Gloss Black color doesn’t do so well in that department. Also, I don’t have a specific rating for the back, but I do know the front is Gorilla Glass 5.

Now the whole claim for the Billion Colors starts with this display. Last year’s Find X2 Pro was my favorite display on a phone, edging out every competitor in contrast ratio, and the legacy continues. This is a stunning 6.7-inch Quad HD OLED capable of 10-bit color, 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR10+, 1,300 nits of brightness, and the same 5 million to 1 contrast ratio from last year. Colors, brightness, and viewing angles are seriously fantastic, and because it’s LTPO, you also have a variable refresh rate between 5 and 120hz at more power efficiency, and 240hz touch sampling. Match this with tiny and symmetrical bezels allowing for 92.7% of screen to body ratio, and a good pair of dual firing speakers, and yeah, content consumption is great. There’s also a very fast but not as reliable face to unlock through the punch hole, and an optical fingerprint scanner at the very bottom of the display to unlock it easier while wearing a mask.

OPPO Find X3 Pro review

Internals are also that of your typical high-end flagship, with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, 12 gigs of RAM, 256 gigs of non-expandable storage, Dual-SIM 5G that supports all flavors, the latest Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, a large 4,500 mAh battery, VOOC rapid charging up to 65 watts and yes it comes in the box. Finally, some wireless charging up to 30 watts if you have AirVOOC which is optional, it’s reversible up to 10 watts, and yeah, IP68 water and dust resistance are in tow.

Software and Experience

This is Color OS 11.2 running on top of Android 11, which sure is not stock Android, but not really far from it. The UI elements are still mostly OPPO, but the more you use it, the more you realize just how much Google-ified it is. You have the Google feed to the left of the launcher, there’s an option to call on the Google Assistant from the power button, and you can also set an app tray if that’s your jam. Other features are actually welcomed, like using your fingerprint to unlock your Private Safe or specific apps, in addition to calling on shortcuts with a gesture. A side menu for quick shortcuts, and other enhancements like Game Space and OPPO Relax 2.0.

OPPO Find X3 Pro review

Really all you care about is that the UI doesn’t bog down the experience, and that’s the case here. Apps launch fast, animations are minor so it all feels smooth, and as a result, I feel battery life is pretty good. After a week of testing on Google Fi, I’ve been able to end my days with enough of a charge left, no overheating, though even with all the 5G antennas included, I can’t say I ever got 5G to work. Fi is still finicky about the phones it supports with it, even leaving iPhones off the list, so I’ll attribute that to my problem.

Camera

Now let’s talk cameras for a bit, cause that’s another reason for the Billion Color tagline. OPPO and Sony co-engineered a new 50-megapixel IMX766 sensor that’s capable of 10-bit color, but this is actually the first phone to include two of them. One for the primary camera, and the other for the ultra-wide. This makes a lot of sense cause if you think about it, in a mirror-less camera you can change lenses to provide different focal lengths, but image quality is never affected cause the sensor doesn’t. I wish that were the case with the telephoto, which took a step back from being periscopic. I’ll let the results do the talking, and we’ll discuss that fourth camera in a bit.

OPPO Find X3 Pro review

At first, I thought they just looked great because the display made them look good, but once you pull them into a computer, the results remain consistent. As expected daylight photos are great, but OPPO is playing with a bit more contrast in its color science, creating this sort of Leica grain that I’m really liking. It makes colors like red look bolder and more elegant. It plays in its favor mostly when switching focal lengths since you’re losing aperture on the other cameras, so the grain sort of compensates for the loss in detail in the shadows. Having the same sensor in the Ultra-wide leads to color consistency, and even if there’s one less element on the lens, there is nearly no distortion on the sides. And sure, we lost the periscopic zoom lens, but I’d say photos even up to 5X hybrid are really good, though I do suggest you stay away from 20X digital.

In low light, I’d say this phone performs better than most. These would be the only ultra-wide photos I’d recommend at night, providing results that are almost on-par with the Primary. Obviously the darker it gets the harder it is given the differences in aperture, but I’m very impressed overall. It’s not until you jump to the telephoto that things start falling apart, but it’s the story with every other phone.

OPPO Find X3 Pro review

Oddly, I’m a fan of selfies, but not of selfie portraits. Somehow the latter needs some serious tuning as all dynamic range is blown off, something every other competing phone solved generations ago.

And sadly, it’s the same way I feel about the video. I mean, the back camera can go up to 4K at 60 providing some decent results with good stabilization and colors, but I’m gonna apologize right now for the selfie video footage. No stabilization, pretty regular dynamic range, and it’s still stuck at 1080p, which again is something that competitors addressed ages ago.

OPPO Find X3 Pro review

As for camera number 4, well this is a Microlens that allows up to 60x magnification and even records Full HD video of, well, the weave that makes up my mouse pad. It uses a circular ring light to help you get really close to your subject, but aside from learning that my hankies were not really 100% cotton, this is more of a gimmick given the low resolution of the results.

OPPO Find X3 Pro review conclusion

To conclude our OPPO Find X3 Pro review, I think the best way to summarize the OPPO Find X3 Pro is by calling it the most mature flagship in this lineup. I mean sure the wow factor is gone, but I think it was done on purpose. During our briefing, we asked why features like the periscopic lens were taken away, and the engineers claimed that users didn’t use it as much as the primary or the ultra-wide. It kind of makes sense for the complexity to be removed if it’s an extra value that’s under-utilized.

Because of its great design, superb display, a great set of cameras,
and excellent battery life,
the OPPO Find X3 Pro is our choice
for a great overall flagship smartphone.

Maybe the reason why I disagree with that approach is that I feel the industry needs phones like the ones this lineup used to stand for. Not all features will stick around for an extra year or two, but the only way to live in the future is through experimentation. If it wasn’t for those motorized cameras or periscopic lenses, I don’t think other manufacturers would’ve adopted the technology. It’s proof that OPPO was actually delivering on useful ideas and not the usual gimmicks we get from other manufacturers.

Regardless, if I were to judge the Find X3 Pro as a flagship, it’s a great phone. From the look and feel of the hardware to the experience with the software, it’s a joy to use. If photography is your thing, it’s one of the best phones on my list, even if I wish all my needs for video were addressed. Sure, I was expecting a bit more than just another flagship with this phone, but that doesn’t deter me from the fact that I have no problem recommending it.

The OPPO Find X3 Pro features a gorgeous design language with a single back panel that curves into the camera module, which is kind of similar to the iPhone counterpart. Both the devices are IP68 rated for dust and water resistance. The OPPO offering weighs under 200 grams so it won’t feel like a brick in your hand. The OPPO Find X3 Pro features a 6.7-inch curved display with a QHD+ resolution of 3216 x 1440 pixels and supports a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It can go down to 5Hz when needed. OPPO Find X3 series: What rumors say about the upcoming flagships

OPPO is gearing up to launch its next wave of flagship phones – the Find X3 series – at an event on March 11. The Find series has traditionally served as the pinnacle of OPPO’s smartphone innovation, especially in the design and camera department, and this time, we’re expecting nothing different. The hype is high, with the company teasing some ground-breaking camera advancements. However, leaks have already spoiled everything there is to know about the OPPO X3 series, including renders, internal hardware, and even the asking price. Here’s everything we know about the OPPO Find X3 series:

OPPO Find X3 Pro

Let’s start with OPPO’s crown-jewel for its 2021 flagship portfolio – the OPPO Find X3 Pro. As per an extensive leak (via WinFututre), it will arrive with a curved 6.7-inch QHD+ (3216 x 1440 pixels) AMOLED display with a layer of Gorilla Glass 5 on top, a hole-punch in the top-left corner, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. Other leaks also mention that OPPO is leveraging the LTPO display technology that will allow the screen to dynamically adjust the refresh rate value between 5Hz and 120Hz.

Inside, you’ll find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC working in tandem with up to 12 gigs of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. The camera department will reportedly be headlined by an optically-stabilized 50MP primary camera, another 50MP sensor for ultra-wide photography, a 13MP telephoto camera that supports 5x hybrid zoom and 20x digital zoom, and a 5MP macro camera that will reportedly offer a 25x zoom output – serving somewhat like an on-device microscope. For selfies and video calls, OPPO has equipped the Find X3 Pro with a 32MP snapper.

The device brings support for 5G (dual-mode) and dual-SIM facility too. The lights are kept on by a 4,500mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging. And there is support for 30W wireless charging as well. OPPO will reportedly offer the Find X3 Pro in two colors – Silver and Blue, but Black and Vegan Leather options have also been rumored to be on the table. As per another leak by tipster Roland Quandt, the Find X3 Pro will set buyers back by EUR 1,149, which translates to a cool $1,370 as per the current conversion rates. The build is IP68-certified, but the design of the rear camera bump might prove to be divisive. Here’s an official look at the upcoming phone’s aesthetics:

OPPO Find X3 Neo

Next in line is the OPPO Find X3 Neo – the middle child on OPPO’s new flagship lineup that tones down some of the internals to cut down on the asking price. And oh, the design has been reworked too, but it does bear a lot of similarity with OPPO’s Reno5 series phones. OPPO has equipped this one with a curved 6.5-inch FHD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The panel is HDR 10+ certified and it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The fingerprint sensor has been embedded in the screen hardware, just like the pricier OPPO Find X3 Pro.

OPPO Find X3 Neo

OPPO has equipped this one with Snapdragon 865 – Qualcomm’s flagship for 2020 – that ticks alongside 12 gigs of RAM and 256GB internal storage. The camera hardware is highlighted by a 50MP main snapper, a 16MP ultra-wide shooter, a 13MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom range, and a 2MP sensor for macro capture. Selfies will be taken care of by a 32MP camera. A 4,500mAh battery with an impressive 65W charging support will provide the juice. The OPPO Find X3 Neo will reportedly be priced at EUR 799 (~ $950) when it hits the shelves.

OPPO Find X3 Lite

And for those who want the latest of what OPPO has to offer without spending a fortune and don’t necessarily need fire-breathing innards, there is the OPPO Find X3 Lite. This one has a flat 6.44-inch FHD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) display with a 90Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 3+ protection. Qualcomm’s mid-range Snapdragon 765G SoC keeps things running inside, paired with 8 gigs of RAM and 128GB onboard storage. The battery capacity is slightly smaller at 4,300mAh, but you still get support for blazing-fast 65W charging.

OPPO Find X3 Lite

At the back, you’ll find a quad-camera setup that includes a 64MP primary sensor, sitting alongside an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro snapper, and a 2MP depth sensor. And just like its pricier Find X3 Pro and Find X3 Neo siblings, the OPPO Find X3 Lite will also come equipped with a 32MP selfie camera. Color options for this IP52-certified device include silver, black, and blue, and it will reportedly cost EUR 449 (~ $545) in the European market.

OPPO Find X3 series launch set for March 11

OPPO’s next flagship series finally has a launch date. The company has revealed that it will be launching its Find X3 series on March 11 in China. From certifications to leaked images, we’ve been hearing a lot about the Find X3 Pro, Find X3, and Find X3 Lite and Neo. Last week, a leak claimed that the devices will be launched on March 11, and that has been revealed to be correct.

OPPO took to Twitter to announce the launch of the Find X3 series. It uploaded a poster that says the series would be launched on March 11 at 11:30 GMT / 12:30 CET.

The OPPO Find X3 Pro is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC. Meanwhile, the Find X3 Lite and Neo are tipped to be rebadged versions of the Reno Pro5 series. Returning to the Find X3 Pro, it is rumored to feature a 6.7-inch (1440 x 3216 pixel) OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and run Android 11 out of the box.

It could have a 50MP primary camera with the Sony IMX766 image sensor, which is tipped to be accompanied by a 13MP telephoto camera with 2X optical zoom and 3MP macro camera. Moreover, it could pack a 4,500mAh battery with support for 65-watt SuperVOOC 2.0 wired and 30W VOOC Air wireless charging support.

The Pro variant could be sold in four color options of blue, white, orange, and black. It could be available in a single variant featuring 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It could be available in a single variant featuring 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The device is said to be priced between 1000 euros (~$1,126) and 1200 euros (~$1,460), which seems like an educated guess.

On the other hand, the OPPO Find X3 Neo is touted to be a rebranded Reno5 Pro+. It could be made available in two color variants of silver and black. The 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model could be priced between 700 euros (~$851) and 800 euros (~$973). Further, the Find X3 Lite is said to be a rebranded version of China’s OPPO Reno5 5G. It could be sold in blue and black colors with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model. It is touted to be priced between 400 euros (~$486) and 500 euros (~$608).

The Find X3 series is tipped to launch on 11 March.

Pocketnow Daily: Dear Intel: Apple Was Just Getting Started! *NEW Apple Silicon Leaks* (video)

Apple’s M1 MacBook Pro, Samsung Galaxy S10+ and more devices are on sale today

Let’s kick the week off with some pretty familiar deals, that are still awesome if we’re being honest. The new M1 MacBook Pro is still $50 off, leaving the entry level, Silver option for $1250 shipped. That’s actually the color I use and which I recommend most given how it ages. You can also get the discount if you go for the 512GB of SSD variant, leaving that for $1450. The 16in MacBook Pro is also $200 off, that leaves the 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD model for $2200 shipped. And okay, let’s move on to your favorite Samsung trade-in deals because I find it crazy that they’re still available. Starting off with the Note 20 Series, where you can find the Note 20 for $450 and the Ultra for $750. The S20 Series is also on discount, and you can get my favorite, the S20+ for $740 or the Ultra for $940. Finally, the Z Fold 2 is still at a $1000 which I find to be the better deal along with the Note. Again, for all of these you need an eligible device for trade-in but, they’re still pretty crazy. Finally, the Apple Watch SE is $20 off, leaving it at $309 shipped. We have more deals on other Samsung products like the S10 and the Buds, other Apple Watches and more in the links below.

Google Assistant-enabled smart displays and speakers can now stream Apple Music

Now let’s talk about the recent moves that Apple Music has just made. I mean, Apple One was interesting enough for me to be willing to pay for it, but it seems that now Apple might have added a nail to its HomePod coffin. Last week, Apple Music rolled out support to Amazon’s A Speakers and now, Apple Music it’s making its way to Google Assistant enabled smart devices. Starting today, you can ask Google to play Apple Music on your Nest devices, that includes the Nest Audio, Hub Max and others. Now, the service is rolling out in the US, UK, Japan, Germany and France as of today but they are planning for support in other regions as well. Of course, you’ll have to pair your account with your Google account and then you should be good to go. And yes, I do agree that it’s not like if the HomePod Mini doesn’t have advantages, like Privacy which we still haven’t been able to confirm, and also sound quality, but at its price, I’m even debating paying for Spotify anymore.

LG’s rollable phone could soon be a reality

Now, let’s talk about LG’s Project Explorer as, the company has done a great job putting themselves back in the spotlight thanks to devices like the Wing. We know that the Wing was just the first phone that was a part of this project, with the next one reportedly being that rollable phone dubbed the “LG Slide”. According to a tipster on Twitter, the LG Slide was just spotted in South Korea’s carrier intranet database. This revealed the carrier and unlocked model number, hinting to the fact that we’re getting close to the actual launch. Going from what we’ve heard from past reports, this phone is expected to bring a rollable OLED display which extends to give you a bigger canvas, and other trademarks hint that we might get stylus support. We’re expecting this to launch sometime in 2021, with multiple reports claiming that it is coming in March so we’ll see. Let’s just hope they add a flagship processor to match the flagship price this time.

We have leaked details of the upcoming OPPO Find X3 Pro

Let’s move on to OPPO as, we’re expecting the company to launch three different phones in Q1 of next year according to nonother than Evan Blass. He claims that the most important one will be the Find X3 Pro which is codenamed Fussi. This phone will bring the new Snapdragon 888 SoC and OPPO plans to market it with something along the lines of “Awaken Color”. This is because one of the main, if not the main feature will be the new display which is a 6.7in 1440p display with a 525ppi. It also has end-to-end 10-bit color support along with an adaptive-dynamic frame rate, from 10-120Hz, kind of like the Note 20 Ultra. Now, when it comes to the cameras, apparently we’ll be getting two 50MP image sensors from Sony, one for the primary and one for the ultra wide, as well as a 13MP telephoto and a 3MP macro camera.. Yay. It will be capable of 25x zoom which will also be a key point for OPPO,. Evan also mentions that when it comes to design, it will be 8mm thick and 190 grams, and it will bring a ceramic matte-frosted glass at the back in black and blue color ways at launch. Other specs also include a 4500 mAh battery and 65W charging. Again, OPPO should announce these in Q1 of 2020, but they will most likely release until Q2.

Apple is keen on periscope cameras, but they might not appear on iPhones until 2023

Now let’s talk Apple and camera capabilities for iPhones, as even if the 12 Pro Max is great, it’s not really that much better than everything else out there. So far we’ve had two different reports claiming that we’ll be getting a periscope lens on iPhones and now, this third one makes it look like it’s actually going to happen. This report comes from the Elec and it reiterates that Cupertino is looking to improve their zoom features by using SEMCO periscope lenses that could offer up to 10x optical zoom but, it gives somewhat of a larger timeline, suggesting it could be either in 2022 or 2023. Just to recap, Apple has been patenting solutions for periscopic zoom lens since 2014 but, the company has never actually put one on the iPhone. Now that they’ve been able to do away with the patent issues that held them back, it looks like they’re getting ready. Last week we talked about how they are already in talks with suppliers, with SEMCO and LG probably supplying these modules. And we’re going to go with Ming Chi Kuo’s timeline which claims that we’ll be getting these with the 2022 iPhones.

Story of the day:

Ambitious Apple prepares a 32-core chip for high-end Macs

And finally the hottest news today have to do with Apple Silicon Macs, because if you thought the M1 was great, Apple is clearly not even close to being done. So far, we’ve got three devices running on the M1 processor which is already pretty powerful but, we assume it’s also the source for certain limitations, like only having two USB C ports, and it looks like Apple wants to go ALL OUT with their upcoming releases. According to a new report from Bloomberg, Apple is making a series of new Mac processors that is aimed at outperforming Intel’s best. The report claims that the next two series of Apple chips will be more ambitious than expected, with more CPU cores and even more GPU cores. So alright, the M1 comes with an 8 core CPU and either 7 or 8 core GPUs. Well this report claims that Cupertino is currently testing 16 and 32-core models. But wait there’s more, they’re also working on chips with up to 128 cores for either late 2021 or 2022. Currently they are working on a processor design with 16 high performance CPU cores which might make it to the upcoming MacBook Pros we’re expecting. So if you think about it, we’re expecting new MacBook Pros, new iMacs and possibly a new Mac Pro that could be half the size of the current one. And with this report saying that if Apple delivers they will significantly outpace the latest Intel chips, these new computers should be on a whole different league when compared to Intel’s Xeon or AMDs Threadrippers.

We have leaked details of the upcoming OPPO Find X3 Pro

OPPO has been getting attention as the company is expected to launch its new flagship in the first quarter of 2021. Just last month, we saw the company teasing the new OPPO Find X3 Pro will feature end-to-end 10-bit color support with its new Full-path Color Management System, as well as HEIF (High-Efficiency Image Format) support and full DCI-P3 wide color gamut. Now, we have new information from a well-known leaker that makes the device even more compelling.

A new report from Evan Blass over at Voice, gives us details of the upcoming OPPO Find X3 Pro, codenamed Fussi. He believes that this will be the most interesting device of the upcoming Find X3 trio, as it will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G processor and a new ‘full-path color management system. Blass also mentions OPPO’s plans to market the Find X3 Pro, as it may deliver great color and the same adaptive dynamic frame rate as the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

“Oppo plans to market the FX3P with a tagline along the lines of “Awaken Color,” as a way to draw attention to its end-to-end 10-bit color support. What that means, essentially, is that its 6.7-inch, 1440 x 3216 display (525ppi) — with the same adaptive dynamic frame rate of 10Hz to 120Hz as Samsung’s Galaxy Note 20 Ultra — will be able to display images captured by the quad-camera array in their maximum native 1.07-billion colors.”

The OPPO Find X3 Pro is also expected to feature two 50MP IMS766 image sensors from Sony. The first one would be the primary wide-angle module, while the second lens would be intended for ultra-wide capture. We would also see a 13MP telephoto camera with 2X optical zoom and a 3MP macro camera that’s expected to deliver 25X zoom. This last camera would have lights circling its lens, allowing it to be used as a microscope, a feature that will get significant attention in the phone’s marketing.

OPPO’s new flagship is also expected to include a dual cell 4500mAh battery, with support for 65-watt SuperVOOC 2.0 wired charging and 30-watt VOOC Air wireless charging. It’s NFC radio will also include some interesting features, as its module will possess a dual-body antenna design, which will allow tap-to-pay regardless of the phone’s orientation.
