Google Store briefly listed the official Pixel 4a render. Is the launch imminent?

Google’s Pixel 4a is possibly one of the worst kept secrets in the smartphone industry right now, appearing in leaked renders, benchmarks, certification databases, and even had its specs leaked extensively in the past few weeks. Now, hi-res render of the phone was briefly listed on the official Google Store in Canada (first spotted by 9to5Google) ahead of its launch.

The render shows the Pixel 4a in black color, flaunting a green power button and what appears to be a matte finish on the rear panel. We see the familiar rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, the squarish camera module with a single lens, and the circular hole-punch cutout on the front housing a single selfie snapper.

Pixel 4a is rumored to draw power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor and will reportedly use a single 12.2MP camera at the back. As per rumors, Google’s next mid-ranger will reportedly be priced between the $300 and $400 price bracket and is right around the corner, that is to say if Google doesn’t delay it again at the last moment.

The offical news today begin with deals on a ton of products, some great, some good. On the good list, well B&H currently has the 2019 13in MacBook Pro for $300 off. This is the 4-Thunderbolt 3 ports, Intel Core i5, 8GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage variant, leaving it at $1499 shipped. Yeah good because if you look at the newer one, that’s the better buy. Amazon has the 512GB Samsung Galaxy S10 for $300 off as well, leaving it at $700, though if you dig deeper, you can get the same S10 for $808 with the Galaxy Buds bundled. We also have more deals on Acer Laptops, Monitors, Nintendo Switch controllers and more in the link in the description.

It’s official! OnePlus will no longer make McLaren Edition smartphones

Earlier this month we covered how OnePlus’ name wasn’t on McLaren’s list of collaborators anymore. Now, a McLaren spokesperson just went on record and officially stated that their partnership has come to an end. According to him, it came to their scheduled conclusion and that OnePlus has been supportive and that they wish to see them in the future. We got two phones out of their partnership and we don’t know how they’ll handle the Concept One if it ever comes out, since yes, that was a McLaren phone.

Sony schedules a PlayStation 5 game reveal event on June 5

And listen, if there’s a time for gaming consoles, it’s now, as we need to stay at home, and it seems Sony is willing to bank on it. The company just announced that they’ll be hosting an event on June 4th for the PlayStation 5. Sony is promising to showcase ‘the future of gaming’ at this event which typically means that we’ll be seeing some games for the upcoming console. We haven’t gotten any other details from Sony but a recent report claims that they might show a total of 38 games including a bunch of exclusives. The event will be live on YouTube and Twitch and we hope to get to see some hardware as well. Let’s also hope that hardware is not crazy expensive, as that would be unrealistic in today’s economy.

Apple needs an urgent supply of LCD panels from LG Display

It looks like the pandemic is affecting Apple in sales but not in the conventional way. Cupertino originally cut orders for their products in Q2 to anticipate the pandemic. What they didn’t anticipate is that due to the transition to e-learning, iPad stocks in China have been down since March because most parents have bought one for their kids to attend school from home. This would be good for Apple if they wouldn’t have cut orders before, and now they’re urgently asking LG for LCD panels to meet their iPad demands. The problem is, these requests usually come three months in advance to give room for LG to prepare. Apple has other providers for the iPad displays like BOE and Sharp, but LG might want to answer this because of their deal to supply displays for the iPhone 12 Max. Clearly this is a good problem to have right now.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20+ cameras leaked?

According to this new leak, the Galaxy Note 20 will fix some of the focusing issues we had with the S20 Ultra from a hardware perspective. The leak gives us both of the camera arrays, the regular Note 20 will apparently bring a 12MP main sensor, a 64MP telephoto, and a 12MP Ultra Wide. On the other side, the Note 20+ will bring the 108MP main sensor, a 12MP telephoto, a 12MP ultra wide and laser autofocus. The laser autofocus would help the main sensor to lock into subjects and while the 12MP telephoto doesn’t sound as impressive in paper as the S20 Ultras 48MP, the 12MP telephoto might help out during pixel binning as the Ultra does create 12MP images after all. It looks like the camera won’t be that different from the S20’s, let’s just hope they refine it. Now if only they included the return of variable aperture. A sensor this large needs it.

Pixel 4a XL leaks show what the phone looked like before it was canceled

And finally the most interesting news today have to do with the Google Pixel 4a XL. I know, that one that apparently won’t get to ever be. Most of the leaks have hinted that there won’t be a 4a XL variant this year but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t in development. We have some leaked images from 9to5Google of Pixel 4a cases where we see the familiar design. It has the orange Power button, the hole for the fingerprint scanner at the back and the 3.5mm headphone jack. However, the camera cutout shows too lenses here and we’re only expecting a single shooter for the 4a. We also have some CAD renders of the phone which show the dual lens camera and the punch hole at the front. Why dual cameras on this phone and not on the small variant is a good question, but even more important, why do you think Google cancelled this phone?

Razer’s new Blade 17 Pro offers a 300Hz display and NVIDIA’s RTX 2080 Super graphics

Razer just refreshed their Blade 17 Pro Laptop for this year in two different variants, and let’s just say both are insane in their own way. One with a 17.3in FHD IPS display at 300Hz refresh rate and another 17.3in 4K touch display at 120Hz. The specs include an 8-core 10th Gen Intel i7, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, up to 2TB of SSD and graphics can go up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super Max Q. It starts at $2599 and it will be available later this month. We have a full spec sheet for the ports and other details in the links in the description.

Asus ROG Phone 3 reportedly spotted on WiFi Alliance and Geekbench

We know a lot of you are huge fans of the ASUS ROG Phones and it looks like we might be getting another one soon, thought this one doesn’t seem like the powerhouse its predecessors were. It was just spotted on Geekbench and the WiFi Alliance, sporting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, 8GB of RAM and running Android 10. The model number is pretty similar to the one we got for the ROG Phone 2 so it only makes sense. This phone could launch in the second half of the year, we’ll keep you posted once we get more leaks.

It seems that Amazon Prime Day sales will be delayed until September

The WSJ claims that Amazon will be delaying their Prime Day this year for, obvious reasons. Previous reports speculated that they would delay it until August but this report claims that they will be pushing it back until September. This delay would create room for more inventory and prepare shipping for more types of products. This will most likely not hurt Amazon too much but instead the third party companies that get more sales through Prime Day. We don’t have an official date for Prime Date yet, but it won’t happen in July. Thing is, let’s be honest. I don’t think anyone is really looking for some crazy shopping in the current state of the economy.

The iPhone 12 may arrive without bundled earphones

According to Ming Chi Kuo, Apple is ready to make their next courageous move. In his latest report, Apple will stop shipping wired EarPods inside the iPhone 12 lineup’s box. This would create an inconvenience for most of the consumers which use these earbuds but, it would also boost up AirPods sales for the holidays. This goes along with Kuo’s report that Apple won’t be releasing more AirPods this year, as they might be trying to sell as much from the current models as they can. Some sources claim that we might get an AirPods bundle with the iPhone 12 but, you never know with Apple. Now why is this important? I know most Android OEMS don’t bundle earbuds, but the iPhone was always meant to be a successor to the iPod. It’s been legendarily known for the earbuds in the box since generation 1. You see people with them all the time. Oh well..

Story of the day:

Pixel 4a reportedly delayed again, might now be announced on July 13

And finally the most interesting news today continue to be Google Pixel 4a, but NOT necessarily for good reasons today. We’ve been getting more and more Pixel leaks lately because, we thought we were getting closer to the launch date for the 4a. First we were expecting it to launch around May 15th but that was clearly delayed, and we were expecting a June launch which made sense because of the Android 11 Event but it seems that won’t be the case, again… Gotta hand it to Jon Prosser for his track record in leaks, and in his new report, the Pixel 4a will be delayed once again and it will get a July 13th announcement. According to his sources, the phone is ready to ship but it keeps getting pushed because of the market’s condition due to the pandemic. Apparently it will bring a regular Snapdragon 7 Series chip with no 5G, and he also pretty much confirms that we won’t be getting an XL variant after all. The Pixel 5 might get pushed back as well.

Google survey hints Pixel 4a will start at $349, Pixel 5 to cost $699

Just a few days ago, we came across a leak claiming that the Pixel 4a will be priced at $349, undercutting the iPhone SE by $50 in the US market. It appears that the $349 price for the Pixel 4a has been internally locked, or at least that’s what Google’s own survey suggests.

A Reddit user has shared an alleged screenshot of a Google survey that asks users if they’ll buy a Google Pixel phone that has a durable plastic build and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The price of the phone is set at $349, or $14.54 on a monthly plan. The asking price is squarely aimed at the upcoming Pixel 4a, if previous leaks are anything to go by.

The second question is about the “best flagship Google phone” that features a “best in class camera, wireless charging, and water resistance”, plus early access to the latest Google features and innovations. The description makes it abundantly clear that the phone in question is the Pixel 5. But what is surprising is that the phone will start at $699, while the Pixel 4’s base model was priced at $799.

Google Pixel 4a official wallpapers leaked, because what else remains now?

It's only fair to share...Share on RedditShare on FacebookShare on Google+Tweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Tumblr

If you follow even a wee bit of tech news, you must be aware that Pixel 4a is Google’s upcoming mid-ranger. And continuing Google’s poor track record, everything about the Pixel 4a, including a full-fledged review and in-depth camera analysis on video, has been leaked. And now, the official Pixel 4a wallpapers have surfaced online.

The wallpapers come courtesy of Julio Lusson, the man behind a ton of Pixel 4a leaks via his TecnoLike Plus YouTube channel. The files were uploaded to a publicly accessible Mega folder from where you can download all 16 of them.

And yes, there is a stock “4a” wallpaper too that takes some design cues from the one we saw in the Pixel 4. Interestingly, many of these wallpapers have been designed in such a way that the Pixel 4a’s punch-hole cutout for the front camera won’t be much of an eyesore. You can download the official Pixel 4a wallpapers here.

Google Pixel 4a rumor roundup: Everything we know so far

Google introduced a new mid-range member to the Pixel family last year. The company is likely to continue the trend with the launch of Google Pixel 4a this year. While there is no official confirmation about the existence of the device, almost everything – including a camera review – has already leaked online.

The rumor mill is buzzing with information regarding the Pixel 4a. Its specs, design, features and more, here is all we know about the device so far.

Just one Google Pixel 4a this year

Google Pixel 4a

Google has released two models of its Pixel devices each year – a regular one and an XL one. However, this time around, the company is said to drop the XL from its Pixel 4a-lineup.

The regular and XL variants have had nearly identical core design and feature-set. The only real difference being the larger display and a bigger battery. Oh, not to forget, a steeper price as well.

While we expected the pattern to continue, a report in January suggested that Google will be releasing a single mid-ranger this year. Further, we haven’t heard anything about the existence of the Pixel 4a XL from the rumor mill.

Google Pixel 4a: Design

Back in December, renders of the Google Pixel 4a surfaced online revealing a punch-hole display and a single rear camera sitting in a squircle module from Pixel 4.

Google Pixel 4a

Further, a leak hinted at bezels that are kept at a bare minimum while the selfie camera sits in a punch hole. It is drilled at the top left corner of the screen. If the renders are to be believed, this will be the first Pixel phone to have a punch-hole cutout for the front-facing camera. However, it is likely to miss out on the Motion Sense and face unlock.

Instead, renders suggest that there could be a fingerprint sensor on the rear. Moreover, the bottom is seen housing the USB-C charging port and speaker grilles. Further, the top edge will house the 3.5mm headphone jack.

The specifications

Concept-based rendershands-on images, 360-degree videos, and retail packaging – when it comes to Google’s upcoming Pixel 4a mid-ranger, we’ve seen it all.

Google Pixel 4a, prakhar khanna

Almost all the specifications of the Pixel 4a are already known. The phone is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 730 chip paired with 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB onboard storage. It is tipped to feature a 5.81-inch FHD+ OLED punch-hole display.

On the optics front, the phone is likely to sport a single 12.2MP camera, while an 8MP snapper will handle selfies. The Pixel 4a is said to come with the Titan M security chip but will miss out on the Neural Core chip found inside the Pixel 4.

Moreover, an alleged Pixel 4a camera review video suggests the upcoming phone will offer great portrait mode and low-light performance. It hints at the presence of Astrophotography mode as well as Night Sight mode. If the video is anything to go by, the 12.2MP rear sensor shines at portrait photography and produces good colors in daylight.

The Google Pixel 4a is speculated to pack a 3,080mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.

Google Pixel 4a price and release date

The Pixel 4a is all set to be the iPhone SE competitor. As per Evan Blass’s leak, the phone will cost $399 for the base variant. To recall, last year’s Pixel 3a was also priced at $399 for the base variant. If true, the Pixel 4a at $399 will be a welcome surprise for potential buyers.

A recent report suggested that the Pixel 4a could go on sale starting May 22. To recall, the Pixel 4 was launched on October 15 and it went on sale after 9 days. Hence, we can expect the Pixel 4a to be launched around May 15.

Samsung will fix the battery issues on its Galaxy Chromebook

If you bought a Samsung Galaxy Chromebook, you may have been experiencing some battery issues. The main problem with it is that Samsung tried to go too thin and light and the battery has issues keeping up with the display and the speed. Samsung has acknowledge the issues and is working with Google on some type of fix. They haven’t specified but it’ll most likely come in a software fix that’ll have to sacrifice a little of display quality to get longer battery life or bring new battery saving options. We’ll keep you posted once it happens.

Could this be the Nokia 9.3 PureView?

Pixel 4a visits Geekbench, launch imminent

A Pixel launch isn’t complete without the incredible amount of leaks we get before. For starters, the Pixel 4a just passed through a Geekbench benchmark listed with 6GB of RAM and the Snapdragon 730 SoC. But we also have a full on camera review from the same guys who shared the samples last week. The camera review doesn’t really show the phone but he does reveal that the rear sensor is a 12.2MP sensor and the front is an 8MP sensor. We have a BUNCH of new samples from the video that show low light pictures, macro shots and more with pretty good quality, it is a Pixel after all.

Apple just launched a brand new update to the 13in MacBook Pro in two variants basically. Starting off with the lower end variant, it has two thunderbolt ports and even if Apple promises the 10th gen Intel processors, these lower end variants have the same old 8th Gen processors.
