It’s also 70% more power efficient than previous generations and, it’s also able to power most of these older devices as it’s backwards compatible with previous generations of Quickcharge and devices powered by Snapdragon SoCs. If you want the technical details, they’ll be in the links in the description.

New leaked images of the alleged Moto RAZR 5G look hot

Let’s go back to clamshell foldables, Evan Blass just posted a new leak of the upcoming RAZR. We’re expecting this phone to launch some time in September as Motorola mentioned in a podcast and, according to Evan this phone will be called the Moto RAZR 5G / Odyssey. On the picture we get to see the phone laying down on a table showing a much larger outer display which displays someone doing a video call. The design doesn’t look like it changed all that much but it does look more like the original RAZRs from back in the day. Previous leaks from Evan hinted that we will be getting better specs like the Snapdragon 765G, 8GB of RAM, dual cameras with a 48MP primary sensor and a secondary 20MP shooter. We’re about a month away from September so, we should be hearing some more soon.

Google’s Pixel 4a might finally launch on August 3

Speaking of releases, Mr. Jon Prosser is back, at least on Twitter and he has a new update for the Google Pixel 4a. A couple of weeks ago, he tweeted out that we’d be getting this phone on August 3rd and today he tweeted out that it will 100% be happening on that date. Everything is supposed to be ready as, the phone was allegedly ready months ago but Google just pushed the dates back, we assume it was because of the pandemic because that’s the only logical explanation for these many delays. We’re still expecting this phone to be powered by the Snapdragon 730, pack a 3140 mAh battery with 18W fast charging. Bring a single camera at the back as well as a 5.8in punch hole display and a price tag between the $300-400 mark. We’re only a week away from this launch date so, we hope to hear back soon.

Finally and more importantly, we have some alleged price tags of the Galaxy Note 20 and boy, these don’t sound good at all. According to the tipster, the LTE variant of the Note 20 will cost €999, while the 5G variant will start at €1099 while the Note 20 Ultra starts at €1349. Apparently the variants will start at 256GB of storage and he also added that the Buds will cost €149 but, he did mention that pricing may change due to VAT.

Story of the day:

The 5.4-inch display of the iPhone 12 could’ve appeared on Weibo

iPhone 12, Apple Glass and Apple Silicon launch date leaked?

We have two separate leaks for Apple today but, they actually overlap. Let’s start off with some images of display panels that allegedly belong to the 5.4in iPhone 12 and were posted to Weibo. We can’t really see much from these images other than the fact that the notch does look somewhat smaller than the ones we currently have. Now, for the second leak, we have a now deleted tweet from a tipster with some dates for the upcoming Apple Events. According to him, there’s going to be an online event on September 8th where we’ll be getting the new iPhones, the Apple Watch, a new iPad and, wait for it, AirPower. Then he mentioned a second event on October 27th but, he didn’t mention if it was going to happen online. At this event we should be getting a new iPad Pro, two new Apple Silicon Macs which are a 13in MacBook Pro and a MacBook, he also added that if this is an online event, we could be getting Apple Glass. Of course, these are all rumors and you should take them with a grain of salt but, it provides somewhat of a timeline as there’s a lot of conflicting rumors going on.

Qualcomm presents its new Quick Charge 5 technology

Quick Charge technology was first introduced back in 2013, and since then, we have received faster-charging speeds and more power with every update. Now, Qualcomm is announcing its newest Quick Charge 5 technology, which will become the world’s fastest commercial charging solution.

The new Qualcomm Quick Charge 5 is better and faster than anything we have seen so far. This new technology will let you charge your device from zero to fifty percent in five minutes, and from zero to full charge in under fifteen minutes. This translates to ten times faster than the original Quick Charge technology and four times faster than Quick Charge 4.

“The world’s first commercially viable fast charging platform to support more than 100W charging power in a smartphone, Quick Charge 5 is engineered to allow users to charge devices from 0 to 50 percent battery power in just five minutes – representing the fastest mobile phone charging capabilities available.

“Quick Charge 5 sets a new standard for charging performance by charging up to four times faster than the previous generation. While Quick Charge 5 charges devices at blazing fast speeds, it also keeps extreme safety measures in mind; Quick Charge 5 incorporates 12 separate voltage, current, and temperature protections, including USB-input overvoltage protection at 25V and external power controls beyond 30V.”

It also features Dual Charge, a new battery technology that will give you twice the voltage and twice the speed. At the same time, it also helps you keep temperatures up to 10 degrees cooler when compared to the previous generation. This new technology is also seventy percent more power-efficient. Its smart identification of adapter capabilities helps it deliver the perfect amount of power to almost every device since it is backwards compatible with previous generations of Quick Charge and devices powered by Snapdragon chipsets.

“Quick Charge technology is the industry leading fast-charging method, available on more than 1,200 mobile devices, accessories, and controllers – ranging from car adapters to docking stations – and unifying the handset and laptop charging ecosystem. Backwards compatible with Quick Charge 2.0, 3.0, 4, 4+ and existing handsets powered by the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ mobile platform,”
