Samsung Galaxy S21 storage, colors, and stylus support confirmed

More leaks of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S21 series have emerged. We have already seen the three devices leaked in some promo videos that show the similarities between the more affordable variants. Still, the latest rumor reveals Galaxy S21’s storage options and color variants, as well as an extra feature for the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

The guys over at WinFuture.de claim that several German retailers are already revealing the storage capacity for the Galaxy S21 series and its possible color options. First, the vanilla Samsung Galaxy S21 would arrive with two storage options, which would be 128GB for the entry-level variant, and 256GB in the maxed-out version. Users would also be able to choose between four different color options, which include gray, white, pink, and purple.

The Samsung Galaxy S21+ would arrive with the same storage options as the Galaxy S21, which means 128GB and 256GB. Unfortunately, leaks suggest that it will only be available in three color options, which include black, silver, and purple.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, on the other hand, would feature three storage options that include 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. However, users would only get two color options to choose from, as it would only be available in black and silver. Now, what’s more interesting about this leak is that it also confirms that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will also support S Pen input. Just don’t expect the stylus to be placed inside the phone, as we see in the Samsung Galaxy Note series, as it is expected to be stored in a special Clear View and Silicone Cover case. These cases would come bundled with the S Pen, so it would be a perfect way to keep your device safe, at the same time that you would make your new phone a better productivity tool.

Unlimited Google Photo backups will be unavailable with future Pixel phones

Yesterday’s Google announcement to make some changes to its storage policies came as a shock to most of us. These changes include a new auto-delete policy for accounts that are inactive and for users who have surpassed their storage limits. However, these aren’t the only changes that are coming, as it seems that Google won’t offer free unlimited storage in Google Photos with future Pixel devices.

It seems that this may be a great moment to buy a new Google Pixel device if you’re interested in free, unlimited Google Photos backups. Google’s latest changes to its storage policies will start taking effect on June 1, 2021. This means that from that date, any new photo and video you upload will count toward the free 15GB storage each user receives with his or her Google account. Further, any new document will also add up to a users’ limit.

Now, things don’t stop there, as Google has also announced that future Google Pixel devices won’t include unlimited ‘high-quality’ Google Photo backups while existing Pixel devices will continue to do so. This is because every Google Pixel device before the Google Pixel 5 will be exempt from Google’s policy change.

“If you back up your photos and videos in Original quality, these changes do not affect you. As always, your Original quality photos and videos will continue to count toward your 15 GB of free storage across your Google Account.

“If you have a Pixel 1-5, photos uploaded from that device won’t be impacted. Photos and videos uploaded in High quality from that device will continue to be exempt from this change, even after June 1, 2021.”

In other words, the latest Google Pixel a4 and Pixel 5 may be your best option to avoid paying $1.99 per month if you want 100GB of storage space to keep your future pictures, videos and documents backed up. And you must also remember to check your accounts every now and then to stop the automatic deletion of your files.

Google Account and Google Photos’ storage policies will change, for worse?

Google has made a couple of announcements this morning that may not seem so great. These announcements include changes to its Google Account and Google Photos’ storage policies that include new auto-delete policies.

Google’s first announcement goes towards the storage changes that will primarily affect Photos.
“Starting June 1, 2021, any new photos and videos you upload will count toward the free 15 GB of storage that comes with every Google Account or the additional storage you’ve purchased as a Google One member. Your Google Account storage is shared across Drive, Gmail and Photos. This change also allows us to keep pace with the growing demand for storage. And, as always, we uphold our commitment to not use information in Google Photos for advertising purposes. We know this is a big shift and may come as a surprise, so we wanted to let you know well in advance and give you resources to make this easier.”

However, Pixel phones will be exempted from these new rules, as they will continue to offer unlimited “High Quality” backups. These backups compress large photos to 16-megapixels, while videos with higher resolution than 1080p will be resized to this format. On a positive note, any photo or video uploaded in high quality before June 1, 2021, won’t count toward the users 15GB free storage space, so you should consider hacking up everything in HQ before this date.

Now, Google has also announced that Docs, Sheets, Slides, and more will also start to count towards users’ 15GB limit starting on June 2021. The company also announced that if users are inactive for two years, it may delete the contents that reflect inactivity, and this would also apply to users who are over the storage limit for two years.

“We’re introducing new policies for consumer accounts that are either inactive or over their storage limit across Gmail, Drive (including Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings, Forms and Jamboard files) and/or Photos to better align with common practices across the industry. After June 1:

“If you’re inactive in one or more of these services for two years (24 months), Google may delete the content in the product(s) in which you’re inactive.
“Similarly, if you’re over your storage limit for two years, Google may delete your content across Gmail, Drive and Photos.
“We will notify you multiple times before we attempt to remove any content so you have ample opportunities to take action. The simplest way to keep your account active is to periodically visit Gmail, Drive or Photos on the web or mobile, while signed in and connected to the internet.”

In other words, keep checking your Gmail, Drive, and Photos every now and then, just to avoid unpleasant surprises.

Epic Games Store is down because everyone wants a free copy of GTA 5

Apple to launch a new 10.8-inch iPad in 2020, iPad Mini to follow next year: Ming-Chi Kuo

We have a new report from Ming Chi Kuo with Apple’s roadmap for different products. He predicts that the Apple AR Glasses will launch some time in 2022, and they’ll be reliant on the iPhone to keep them slim and lightweight. They are expected to run Reality OS or rOS, and Apple is currently exploring touch panels, voice activation and gestures. Moving on to iPads he claims we will be getting two new iPad soon. A 10.8in iPad and a 8.5-9in iPad Mini for the second half of 2020 and the first half of 2021 respectively. These new iPads will follow on the iPhone SE product strategy with an affordable price tag and the adoption of newer, faster chips. On a previous note he also said that they are working on a miniLED iPad Mini which could be released later this year but it is not clear if this is the same one.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series may arrive with a 16GB RAM standard

We’re still a few months away but we’ve been getting a good amount of leaks for the Galaxy Note 20 line up. The same source from the previous leaks claims that one of the ways Samsung plans to differentiate the Note 20 from the S20 is with RAM. Apparently these could bring 16GB of RAM as a standard for both the Note 20 and the Note 20+. Currently, the only Galaxy S with 16GB of RAM, is the Ultra 5G with 512GB of storage. Samsung has been mass producing LPDDR5 RAM chips for mobile since February, and since the Ultra hasn’t sold too well, this might be a way of getting rid of the extra inventory. We are expecting both LTE and 5G variants so we don’t know yet if it will only be a standard on the 5G variants or on all of them. The source also claims that these are getting larger on-display ultra sonic fingerprint scanners from Qualcomm with an area 17x larger than before.

Story of the day:

New Google Pixel 4a could be more affordable than iPhone SE

And finally the hottest news today have to do with the gift that could keep on giving, the Google Piourse there can’t be no Pixel launch without the incredible amount of leaks. Now, we have the wallpapers for the 4a because, there’s nothing else to leak from the same source we had before. And if you want to, you can actually download these as the source uploaded them to a shareable folder so, we have them in the links in the description. All 16 of them. More importantly, all of the leaks hinted that the Pixel 4a would start at $339, like the iPhone SE but some new information claims that the Google Pixel 4a might undercut the iPhone SE by $50 or more, meaning that the 128GB Pixel 4a would cost $349 so there is a possibility that the 64GB variant could cost $299. New Google Pixel 4a could be more affordable than iPhone SE

It seems that Google may give Apple a taste of its own. Apple may have stormed the market with the arrival of a new budget-friendly iPhone SE, but it seems that the new Google Pixel 4a may be better and more affordable than Apple’s offering.

The latest iPhone SE comes with 64GB in storage for $399, and a new leak from 9to5Google’s Stephen Hall, says that the Google Pixel 4a could arrive with the same 64GB in storage for $299, and you could even get the Pixel 4a with 128GB in storage for $349, which means $50 less than the iPhone SE’s starting price point. We recently saw the results of a performance test applied to a preproduction model of the Pixel 4a, and its results were promising.
