Can’t visit the cinema? You can now catch new movie releases with Sky

You can now watch the latest cinema releases from your home, thanks to a new initiative from Sky TV. In quick response to the Coronavirus effectively shutting down all cinemas in the UK, Sky has teamed up with NBCUniversal to bring cinema movie releases to homes right away.

This is a first. With this announcement, gone will be the days of waiting for a cinema release to have finished airing at the local multiplex or arthouse. You'll now be able to enjoy them at home without those noisy kids at the back or getting sticky shoes walking on the spilled drinks and discarded popcorn.

A selection of movies will be available to rent through the Sky Store on the same day as their global release at cinemas, with the first being Trolls World Tour on April 6.

From Friday you'll be able to go to the Sky Store to access The Hunt, The Invisible Man and Emma – all of which were only recently released at the cinema and would ordinarily have debuted on TV streaming services much further down the line.

"Making life a little easier for anyone at home"

In response to people being stuck at home, Sky has also made a few more changes:

  • Sky Go Extra is free to customers – allowing for three screens access at once
  • Free calls to UK landline for Sky Talk customers from the end of April
  • Sky Mobile customers get 10GB of free data

Finally Sky has pointed out that YouTube Kids and – excitingly – Disney Plus will be launching on the platform in 'the coming weeks' so keep your eyes peeled.

Stephen van Rooyen, EVP & CEO, Sky UK and Europe said: “We’re working hard at Sky to make sure we continue to look after our customers.

"We’re also introducing some things to help make life a little easier for anyone at home trying to work, stay connected to loved ones, or keep the family entertained.”

F1 live stream: how to watch the Australian Grand Prix 2020 online from anywhere

The Formula One 2020 season starts this week in Australia where Lewis Hamilton and team Mercedes are gunning for glory once again to achieve a record winning streak. You can get an F1 live stream from anywhere you happen to be using this guide on how to live stream F1.

The 2020 F1 season sees Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton as the favourite team and driver to take the titles. Should that happen, it will place Hamilton alongside the legend of Michael Schumacher who won seven times. It will also make Mercedes the first team to ever win seven constructors' titles in a row.

But it's not all plain sailing, despite Ferrari going through some engine controversy. Team Red Bull is a strong contender for the titles with Max Verstappen racing extremely well last season. That said, Ferrari's Charles Leclerc has also been on strong form. If both those teams can offer a consistent car performance this season, the young drivers could upset Hamilton's bid for glory.

The opening Australian Grand Prix will be held at the Melbourne Circuit which is relatively long at 5.3KM and one of the faster tracks. It demands a well-sorted chassis and reactive driving on several corners. Last year Hamilton's pole lap set an average speed of over 235kph, so expect this to be a blistering start to the season.

You can see all the exciting racing using an F1 live stream from anywhere in the world – here's how.

Paris-Nice 2020 live stream: how to watch cycling online from anywhere

The Paris-Nice cycling tour is back for 2020, meaning eight glorious days of the road-racing to enjoy. The event crosses some of the most beautiful sites of the Côte d’Azur - this race isn't known as the Race to the Sun for nothing! And you can watch it all using a Paris-Nice live stream.

The Paris-Nice eight-stage race is in its 78th year. The course will run a total of 1,206 km starting in Plaisir and ending in, you guessed it, Nice. As the race gets closer to Nice the hills become more intense with the hill climbers coming into their own in these stages. The first three days are relatively flat but the penultimate stage has a 15km ascent with a 7.3% gradient up the Turini Pass.

This is all part of the UCI World Tour, it's second race of the season, in fact. So expect lots of big name riders and teams to be in attendance. It was actually this race which led to the rule of UCI riders being required to wear helmets at all times, following the death of Andrey Kivilev after a head injury sustained in a crash.

Last year saw Columbian Egan Bernal take victory for Team Sky. In 2018 it was Movistar's Spaniard Marc Soler who won it. The three years preceding that saw Team Sky win with Colombia's Sergio Henao in 2017, Geraint Thomas from Great Britain in 2016 and Australian Richie Porte in 2015.

Despite having the most wins, with 21, France hasn't had a Frenchman win since 1997. Could this be the year? You can watch and find out by using a Paris-Nice live stream anywhere in the world. Read on to find out how to watch where you are.

Live stream Paris-Nice 2020 from outside your country

We have details of all the UK, US and Canada broadcasters further down this guide. The good news for cycling fans in France and Australia is that it's on free-to-air TV. This will be shown on France 3 and SBS respectively.

If you're obsessed by watching the cycling and refuse to miss a stage - even when you're away on business or on holiday - then you'll be disappointed to see your domestic coverage geo-blocked when you try to stream online from abroad. That's where utilising a VPN (Virtual Private Network) really helps. It lets you virtually change the ISP of your laptop, tablet or mobile to one that's back in your home country. Thus letting you watch as if you were back there.

New rules kick in today that help you find the best broadband, TV and phone deals

It just got a whole lot easier to get the best broadband deals as well as TV and phone, following new Ofcom rules which are now in place. That means a massive 20 million people could benefit and one of those might be you.

The new requirements demand that broadband, TV and phone providers must send important information to customers when their contracts are coming to an end.

They must also continue to send details on a regular basis after that. So expect the communication to step up a notch from today.

Around one in seven people don't know if they're still tied to a contract after it has ended. The new rules are in place to help those people who will now be clearly told that they're due a new deal and on top of that get the best options laid out for them. For example, deals that offer half price line rental for the first six months, before hiking up, will be more expensive in the long run past a contract's end.

"Millions are paying more than they need to"

New alerts include details on when the contract ends, the price paid before, changes to the service, the price paid at the end of the contract, notice period information and the best deals and prices available to new customers.

Lindsey Fussell, Ofcom’s Consumer Group Director, said: “Millions of people are out of contract right now and paying more than they need to. These new rules make it easier to grab a better deal.

“But you don’t need to wait to hear from your provider. Just a few minutes of your time could save you hundreds of pounds today.”

It couldn't be easier to save money and improve your broadband, TV or phone provision and we have all the options laid out for you to pick from in our best broadband deals and best mobile phone deals guides.

Jacobs vs Chavez Jr live stream: how to watch tonight’s fight online from anywhere

Daniel Jacobs is back on the comeback trail and making his super middleweight debut tonight against Mexican old stager Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Read on to find out how to get a Jacobs vs Chavez Jr live stream, no matter where on Earth you are.

The pair share a common sore point, having both recently been defeated at middleweight level by the indestructible Canelo Álvarez, with Jacobs' loss to the red-haired warrior coming in his last fight - a bitter points defeat back in May which saw him relinquish his IBF middleweight title.

But Jacobs's record still stands at an impressive 35 wins and three defeats and he’ll be looking to get things back on track against another Mexican. While Jacobs last five fights have gone to a decision, the American can still boast a formidable career knockout percentage of 83% and is widely expected to fare well moving up to 168 lbs in the super middleweight division.

The son of retired six-time world boxing champion Julio César Chávez and older brother of Omar Chávez, Chavez Jr is part of Mexican boxing royalty, but his defeat to Canelo back in 2017 may have been even more damaging than Jacobs', with the 33-year-old having only fought once since that loss.

Despite his potential rustiness, in part thanks to his evasion of VADA drug tests which saw him serve a suspension, it shouldn't be discounted that Chavez Jr was once a dominant force as a middleweight champion, clocking up 46 wins before his damaging Canelo defeat.

Who will get their career back on track at the Super Middleweight category? Read on to find out how to live stream the Jacobs vs Chavez Jr fight from absolutely anywhere - although if you're in the US or Canada, we can save you the time by confirming that DAZN has all the coverage.

With regards to Usman vs Covington we get to see the fight that was supposed to happen at UFC 244, before negotiations between the two broke down.

The welterweight fight could see the 170lb former interim title holder Colby Covington take the belt from champion Kamaru Usman. Women's brilliant bantamweight and featherweight champ Amanda Nunes will defend her title against the former 145lb champion Germaine de Randamie. Another former champion, this time a featherweight, is Jose Aldo who is taking on fellow Brazilian Marlon Moraes in his 135lb debut.

EE’s Christmas mobile phone deals give away free data on iPhone, Huawei and more

Those hot, hot Black Friday deals are still smouldering yet already more are firing up the cold Christmas season thanks to some seasonal smartphone deals from EE. That means cheaper iPhones, more affordable Samsungs and better priced Google and Huawei phones are available right now. And they're all coming with lots of free data.

EE's mobile phone discount season runs right up to January 6 and boasts offers like 100GB for the price of 30GB. You could grab an Apple iPhone XR from £54 per month, after an upfront tenner, and get 60GB for the price of 10. More of a 'Team Android' person? There's the stunning Google Pixel 4 for £49 per month, with the upfront tenner, that'll get your 60GB for the price of 10GB.

Below are some of the best phone deals to look out for this Christmas direct from EE. If you're not sure which is the best for you, check out our best smartphones for more help.

Head to EE's website to take advantage of these deals

But there is a rather large caveat to all this. Even despite the discounts, data boosts and the comfort that buying direct from a network brings, getting your phone from the EE website is far from the cheapest option around. 99.99% of a time, it's much more affordable to get your contract through a retailer like Carphone Warehouse, Mobiles.co.uk or Affordable Mobiles.

If you're determined to go for EE, then we'd suggest spending a few minutes with our EE phone deals guide where you can filter your handset and tariff of choice to make sure you're seeing the best options. Or a peek at our mobile phone deals hub will let you compare them to other networks, too.

The best of EE's Christmas phone deals

  • iPhone XR - £54 per month (£10 upfront cost) - 60GB for the price of 10GB
  • iPhone XS - £64 per month (£50 upfront cost) - 100GB for the price of 30GB
  • iPhone XS Max - £69 per month (£50 upfront cost) - 100GB for the price of 30GB
  • Oppo Reno 2 - £34 per month (£10 upfront cost) - 10GB for the price of 4GB
  • Huawei P30 Pro - £49 per month (£50 upfront cost) - 60GB for the price of 10GB
  • Samsung Galaxy S10+ - £54 per month (£30 upfront cost) - 60GB for the price of 10GB
  • Google Pixel 4 - £49 per month (£10 upfront cost) - 60GB for the price of 10GB

Why should I get my next phone deal from EE?

EE is the UK's fastest 4G network and that fact alone has drawn in a lot of support for its contracts, it has steadily become the most popular network in the UK.

EE also offers a few incentives to its customers that sweeten the deal. You can get six months of free Apple Music when you pay monthly with EE and the ability to use Wi-Fi to make calls when you just can't find signal anywhere.

F1 live stream: how to watch the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2019 online from anywhere

Despite already winning the Formula 1 season for 2019, Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton will no doubt want to tack one more win on his record at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. And you can get an F1 live stream to see his winner's procession and who'll win the race to third place.

This is one of the most glitzy F1 events of the year and should end with fireworks and all the excitement you'd expect from a Formula 1 finale. But what to expect from the race?

Last year, the Abu Dhabi race saw Lewis Hamilton take the win and he's in the best place to make that happen again...pole position!

Right now, overall, Hamilton has the top spot and his team mate Valtteri Bottas has second, but there's still a fight on for third place. Max Verstappen, after winning in Brazil, has the third place spot going into this race. But with 260 points he's still in danger of losing that podium spot to Ferrari's Charles Leclerc who has 249 points in fourth place. All that means Verstappen needs to finish first or second in this race to seal that third place.

Best golf watch with GPS 2020: wristwear to track your golfing game

Upgrading your golfing game isn't just about time at the range or on the course, or about splashing cash on new clubs – it's about trying new things too.

Golf watches and activity-tracking devices are now an affordable option for even the amateur golfer, and they're better than ever too.

There are loads of different devices on the market with beginner watches all the way through to tech for professionals who want to improve the minor faults in their game.

Get your distance to the green, have your hardware track your shots and even improve your swing – tech is here to improve your game, and these are the best golf watches we've seen.

Best golf watch at a glance

  1. Hole 19 + Apple Watch/Wear OS
  2. Bushell Excel GPS
  3. Garmin Approach S20
  4. Garmin Approach X40
  5. Golf Buddy WTX
  6. Callaway GPSy Sport Watch
  7. SkyCaddie Linx GT
  8. Garmin Approach S60

Note: we've ranked these from cheapest to most expensive according to prices at time of writing.

Best golf watches: Hole 19 + Apple Watch/Wear OS

If you’re anything like us, you’re rapidly approaching a shoebox full of wearables and would rather not add another. Hole 19 is a free app for Apple Watch and Wear OS that replicates many of the features you’ll find on dedicated trackers and does so with a super-slick, easy to use wrist-based interface.

It leverages the built-in GPS (Apple Watch Series 2 and up as well as a variety of Wear OS watches) to track distances off the tee and to the pin without whipping out your phone.

You can also add your strokes, putts and fairways made and sync it back to the companion smartphone app. The mobile app offers flyover views of holes, a full digital scorecard and the ability to book a round on your favorite course.

Best golf watches: Bushell Excel GPS

The Bushell Excel GPS is an attractive watch golf fans will have no qualms about wearing once the round is over. It brings everything you’d expect in terms of shot measurements and distances to the hole as well as the distinguishing between the various hazards you’re likely to encounter during your round.

It’s more of a traditional watch as the UI is button-controlled rather than touchscreen while, in GPS mode, it promises three full rounds between charges.

A couple of the more ambitious features like Swing Pro, which aims to track the speed at various points in your swing, needs work, but overall this is an excellent GPS golf watch.

Best golf watches: Garmin Approach S20

The Garmin S20 watch offers a larger display than the X40 that you're about to learn about in this list as well as longer battery life (15 hours in GPS mode). It also features the same frequently-updated course database, GPS shot tracking, activity tracking, a digital scorecard and smart notifications capabilities.

It includes hazard information, green details and AutoShot tracking for tee and fairway shots, and is also much cheaper than the Garmin X40, so what’s not to love?

Well this model lacks a heart-rate sensor and it’s not really something you’ll want to wear as a fashion statement away from the golf course.

Best golf watches: Garmin Approach X40

Powerful activity tracker meets all-knowing caddy with Garmin’s exceptional X40. It has a heart rate sensor, so you can monitor your pulse under pressure, and a step/distance/calorie tracker so you can quantifiably justify playing golf four times a week, because it’s exercise.

It’s pre-loaded with 40,000 golf courses worldwide and the GPS will give you a precise distance to the front/pin/back of the green. It’ll even automatically track your drives and iron shots, allowing you to track performance over time.

Despite the slim display it’ll deliver green shape and layout data, allowing you to perfectly plan your approach. Everything is synced back to the powerful Garmin Connect Golf app via Bluetooth.

Best golf watches: Golf Buddy WTX

With a highly visible, raise-to-wake colour screen, powerful GPS, an intuitive interface, distance and hazard tracking and flyover views of each hole on 38,00 courses, the Golf Buddy WTX ticks a lot of boxes (or sinks a lot of putts) for tech-savvy golfers.

However, where it really racks up the extra yardage is the dynamic green view. This feature allows you to plan your pitch from the angle of approach shot.

There’s also GPS course and hole recognition and the watch will move to the next hole automatically. Syncing with the Golf Buddy app will bring you all of the course updates you need.

Best golf watches: Callaway GPSy

A premium golf brand, Callaway's GPSy Sport Watch is packed with features.

The 30,000 courses, which this watch can auto-recognize, are tracked as you play, meaning access to green lay-up and carry distances, as well as hazards and dog-legs.

It will also auto score and track your steps as well. The battery should last between 10 and 12 hours in GPS mode, placing it near the top of the longevity pile.

Best golf watches: SkyCaddie Linx GT

The SkyCaddie Linx GT is one of a kind in that it's not just a wearable, but part of a package.

Combined with an app and a club sensor, the Linx GT does more than just measure shots using GPS, as it can analyze each swing very accurately to offer improvement tips too.

The company claims the watch's GPS increases accuracy over apps by up to 300%, while saving your phone's battery too. The readout on the display will show yardage on the watch, or you can get out your phone for a more detailed course map and shot analysis.

And it's not limited to golf, with step, distance and calorie tracking enabling it to double up as a basic fitness tracker.

Best golf watches: Garmin Approach S60

Although not as feature-packed or expensive as the multi-sport Garmin Fenix 6, the Garmin Approach S60 is the company’s flagship golfing watch, combining a stylish build with a 1.2-inch 240 x 240 color screen and loads of features.

There are over 40,000 courses preloaded, complete with information like precise yardages to greens, hazards and doglegs.

The Approach S60 will also automatically record the location and distance of each shot, while its PlaysLike feature allows the S60 to take elevation changes between the player and target into account and calculate what the distance will play like.

There’s also SwingTempo and TempoTraining to help you improve your swing, and of course the Approach S60 works with the Garmin Connect and Garmin Golf apps, syncing your data and letting you compete with friends.

All that and it will also work as a general activity tracker, tracking steps, calories burned, distance and sleep, providing you with alerts when you haven’t moved enough and even showing smartphone notifications. Plus, it’s waterproof to 5 meters and its battery will last up to 10 hours in golf mode.

F1 live stream: how to watch the Brazilian Grand Prix 2019 online from anywhere

Lewis Hamilton won the US Grand Prix a fortnight ago to take the title for the sixth time. That means that Mercedes has once again beaten Ferrari to the top spot thanks to its consistent performances throughout the season. But now's the chance to claw back some points for the likes of Max Verstappen (who took pole), Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc at the Brazilian Grand Prix - you can watch it all go down with an F1 live stream from pretty much anywhere.

Sure, Lewis Hamilton is world champion, again, and yes, Mercedes is pretty much unstoppable these days. But there are still races to be won. And this Brazilian Grand Prix could offer glory to Ferrari, Red Bull and beyond. Crucially this race also offers experience that could make or break the team next season.

Before the US race, team Ferrari had finished on the podium in 13 consecutive races - not to be sniffed at. But even within Ferrari there are still battles to be fought, specifically between Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc.

As it stands Leclerc is third overall, behind Mercedes' Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas, and Sebastian Vettel lags behind in fifth. But can Vettel close that 19 point gap in the last two races? Or will Red Bull's Max Verstappen in fourth place have a part to play? With Leclerc facing a penalty at the start of this race it's still all open for the taking.

The race for the podium is still very real and you can see how it plays out at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
