Xiaomi says ‘hello Vegas’ with CES debut for ‘all-new’ global product launch

What happens in Vegas… will apparently go global sometime after Xiaomi’s very first CES presence on January 5, 2017.

The Consumer Electronics Show, as we’re sure many of you are well aware, is a super-high-profile annual trade show inaugurated way back in 1967, hosting presentations of thousands of eye-catching new products and technologies in the consumer electronics industry.

Roughly 3,600 companies attended the 2016 CES between January 6 and 9 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino and the Sands Expo & Convention Center, sharing over 2.4 million square feet of specially-arranged booths and exhibition spaces.

Some of the most intriguing mobile-related announcements and demos this year included the pre-release HTC Vive, Acer Liquid Jade Primo, Huawei Honor 5X, and Samsung Galaxy TabPro S.

A little over six weeks from today, a mysterious “all-new” Xiaomi product could capture the CES 2017 spotlight, aiming to illustrate how the “Apple of China” continues to push the “boundaries of innovation.”

We obviously can’t help but dream of a second “edgeless” Mi MIX introduction and global expansion, or perhaps a first showing of an “all-new” compact Mi MIX Nano. Unfortunately, while Xiaomi has repeatedly confirmed of late it’s looking to tackle the US smartphone market… eventually, we expect the company to adopt a baby steps strategy here, and unveil something a tad less disrupting at its all-time CES debut.
