OnePlus may commit to a controversial move — ending sales of the OnePlus 3 — if a supply chain source has spoken the truth. Why might it make so many waves? AppleCare+ iPhone screen repairs are now $29 a pop, any other damage sets you back $99

No one wants to think about this, but even a robust, water-resistant device like the spanking new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus can sometimes break. Pixels make up every image that we see on a screen or monitor. The interesting part? They’re made up of even smaller components called sub-pixel elements. Sub-pixel elements are comprised of a ...

Sapphire Could Make the Scratch-Free Smartphone Dream Come True

Last month at MWC, we were treated to a rather compelling demonstration: a smartphone screen made of material so tough, it was practically un-scratchable. The company providing the demo was GT Advanced Technologies, and the screen was made of a material you’ve probably heard of, but in other contexts: sapphire. In an industry where hardware is fast becoming the differentiator of choice, “sapphire” is the new buzzword for legions of excitement-seeking tech fans. We’re going to take ...

The Future, they say, will be made up of these  displays, built-in to everything from bracelets to automotive displays. What they’re not telling you is that although the display may be flexible, and the futuristic mock-ups are intended to be twisted and rolled, that’s not the real intent — nor is it their real advantage. Yes, ...
