Even though BLU failed to protect the privacy and security of its users' personal information for a pretty long time, also lying about the company's practices, the FTC is not imposing a financial penalty on the smartphone vendor yet.

BLU Life Max squeezes ‘monster’ battery, fingerprint reader and 2GB RAM into sub-$120 package

With its reputation (partly) restored after a damning spyware scandal, Miami-based smartphone vendor BLU is quickly back doing what it does best, following up the Amazon.com re-release of the wildly popular $50 R1 HD with the commercial US debut of a slightly pricier Life Max 5.5-incher.

This “gorgeous” metal-finished mid-ranger stands out first and foremost courtesy of a secure and convenient fingerprint sensor and “monster” 3700mAh battery, which are fairly rare feats for the sub-$150 Android market segment.

The factory unlocked BLU Life Max actually sets you back a crazy low $118.87 on Amazon, though if you order it now, you may still have to wait a little while to get it delivered, as it’s apparently “temporarily out of stock.”

That relatively large IPS screen sadly sports mediocre HD (1,280 x 720 pixels) resolution, which on the bright side is one of the reasons BLU Products speaks very highly of Life Max’s battery life, estimated at “up to 3 days with standard usage.”

Other decent features (all things considered) include premium curved glass design elements, a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek processor, 2GB RAM, 8MP autofocus main camera, 5MP front snapper with flash, pre-installed Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and 4G LTE compatibility nationwide on GSM networks like AT&T and T-Mobile. Now, if only you’d be able to buy this super-affordable BLU Life Max in time for Christmas.
