‘Pearl Black’ Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is likely just a couple of days away, at least in Korea

Well, that was quick. Certainly, way quicker than the “Blue Coral” S7 Edge’s road from unauthorized photo shoot star to commercially available Note 7 consolation prize.

Granted, the seventh (and presumably final) shade of Samsung’s 5.5-inch dual-edged 2016 flagship phone is still not out yet or even officially confirmed by the controversy-marred chaebol. But typically, when SamMobile’s well-connected sources vouch for release dates that are mere days away, they’re right on the money.

Unfortunately, we only “know” the “Pearl Black” Galaxy S7 Edge will hit South Korean store shelves this Friday, December 9, with no further information on a “when” or “if” outside Samsung’s homeland.

Since we’re not looking at an entirely new color here, it’s highly unlikely US carriers will be as keen to support this as the snazzy and unique sea-inspired blue flavor. But perhaps the “Black Onyx” model wasn’t eye-catching or simply “fresh” enough to take on Apple’s wildly popular Jet Black iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.

By the way, the Pearl Black Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is reportedly set to offer a maximum of 128GB internal storage space, up from 64 on all other variants. Expect retail pricing to increase accordingly, which is more reason to doubt a global rollout and especially wide-scale US launch.
