The OPPO Find 9 is a unicorn

The OPPO Find series was one that turned our heads towards China back some two or three years. It showed us how a Chinese company can nail appealing hardware design and even pull a few software tricks to impress us. Since the Find 7’s release nearly three years ago, though, we’ve been waiting upon something bigger, better and more exciting, something with a Snapdragon 820 in it. That never happened.

Rumors have recently redoubled over the potential launch of a Find 9 next March with a Snapdragon 835 in tow. It will never happen. Or so people say.

One Qualcomm staffer stated on Weibo that the rumors surrounding the Find 9 are just those: rumors. In one post, he discredits one rumormonger who has been calling out that the phone would feature the Snapdragon 820, then the 821 and now the 835. Analyst Pan Jiutang concurred in the quelling of sirens, telling his followers in no uncertain terms that people should move onto the OnePlus 3T or the vivo Xplay6.

OPPO and vivo, funnily enough, are owned by BBK Electronics, a Chinese company that also has strong interests in OnePlus.
