Nubia’s Red Magic 5S gaming smartphone with a 144Hz display is now up for grabs globally

Nubia has today announced that its Red Magic 5S gaming smartphone is now available for sale globally, following the start of international pre-orders late last month. The Nubia Red Magic 5S is a true-blue flagship that goes the extra mile to deliver an unparalleled mobile experience by offering features such as capacitive shoulder trigger buttons, a dedicated fan under the hood for cooling, and an ultra-fast panel with 240Hz response rate.

The Nubia Red Magic is priced at $579 (€579 / £539) and can now be purchased from the official Red Magic global store in two colors – Sonic Silver and Pulse. For that asking price, you get a flashy device that comes equipped with a super smooth AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The device features two stereo speakers with DTS: X Ultra support, and 4D vibration feedback is there on the table as well.

Under the hood, you’ll find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 gigs of UFS3.1 storage. There are three cameras at the back, led by a 64MP main snapper that can record 8K videos at 15fps and 4K videos at 60fps. The 4,500mAh battery fitted inside the Red Magic 5S supports up to 55W wired fast charging, and there is support for dual-mode 5G as well.

Nubia Red Magic 5S is now open for pre-orders globally

Nubia launched the Red Magic 5S in late July. The smartphone is now available for global pre-orders, starting at $579 / €579 / £539. This pre-order period will be open for one week. After this period, the RedMagic 5S will be available for global purchase on September 2.

The Nubia Red Magic 5S offers a 6.65-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, It features ICE 4.0 Active Liquid-Cooling with Turbo Fan + Ice Dock. The gaming phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 SoC. It sports a 64MP triple rear camera setup and packs a 4,500mAh battery with support for 55W fast charging.

It comes equipped with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Moreover, it comes equipped with 320Hz shoulder triggers to aid you in a better gaming experience. The Red Magic 5S will be available in two different color options.

Nubia Red Magic 5S to be launched on July 28

Nubia recently confirmed that it will be launching a new gaming phone soon. Now, the launch date has been announced. The Nubia Red Magic 5S gaming phone will go official on July 28 in China. It will be an upgraded version of the Red Magic 5G that was launched earlier this year.

The Nubia Red Magic 5S will feature a 320Hz touch sampling rate shoulder buttons. Moreover, it will sport a 144Hz refresh rate display with a 240Hz touch sampling rate. For reference, touch sampling rate is the number of times the screen can sense touch inputs in a second. 

The brand has already revealed that its upcoming gaming phone will come equipped with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It will also feature “Magic Write”, a patented proprietary read-write optimization technology to “deliver long-lasting performance.” It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC.

Nubia confirmed the arrival of its third gaming phone recently. The existence of Nubia Red Magic 5S was confirmed by Ni Fei, the president of the Nubia brand. Now, he has revealed the touch sampling rate of the shoulder buttons. Further, he has also confirmed the refresh rate of the screen.

Nubia Red Magic 5S to sport LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage

Nubia confirmed the arrival of its new phone recently. The brand will be launching the Nubia Red Magic 5S as its third gaming phone in 2020. Now, the company has revealed some specifications of the device. The teaser suggests that it will come with LPDDR5 RAM. Further, it will feature UFS 3.1 storage.

To recall, the Nubia Red Magic 5G launched earlier this year, was the first smartphone with a 144Hz refresh rate AMOLED display. It includes LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 storage. In contrast, the Red Magic 5S will come with UFS 3.1 storage. It will also feature “Magic Write”, a patented proprietary read-write optimization technology to “deliver long-lasting performance”.

Moreover, the device is confirmed to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset. The same SoC will power the competition including the ASUS ROG Phone 3 and Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone.
