Xiaomi is known for pushing out updates for even its budget devices. The latest to join the list is Redmi 8A, the budget 2019 smartphone. It is now receiving the Android 10 update globally, except for Indonesia. However, it is expected to roll out for the country soon.

Xiaomi is expanding its laptop portfolio. The company has launched another device under its Redmi brand in its home market, China. The RedmiBook Air 13 is an ultrabook that weighs 1.05kg. It features a 13.3-inch display with 2560 x 1600 pixels screen resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio. It supports 100% sRGB color gamut. 300nits brightness, and comes with DC Dimming feature.

The RedmiBook Air 13 is powered by the 10th generation Intel Core i5-10210Y processor, which can go up to 4.5GHz in Turbo Boost. It is being offered in two RAM variants of 8GB and 16GB. Both of them come equipped with 512GB SSD. The thin laptop also sports an all-copper heat dissipation module to ensure that the device doesn’t heat up during heavy usage.

It packs a 41Wh battery, which is promised to last for up to eight hours on a single charge. Xiaomi is also bundling a 65W USB-C adapter with the laptop. It runs Windows 10 OS and features two USB Type-C ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.1.

The RedmiBook Air 13’s 8GB RAM + 512GB SSD variant is priced at 4,899 yuan (~$705). In contrast, the 16GB RAM + 512GB SSD model costs 5,199 yuan (~$748). It is already up for pre-order and will go on sale starting August 17.

MIUI 12 for Redmi Note 9 reportedly starts rolling out in India

Redmi Note 9 is reportedly receiving the MIUI 12 update in India. It follows the MIUI 12 update that was rolled out for Poco X2 last week. The information comes from  shared by Twitter user Ankit (@TechnoAnkit1) on Twitter. As per the screenshot, the MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 9 comes with version MIUI V12.0.1.0.QJOINXM and is 538MB in size.

The update brings an all-new animation engine and a brand-new visual design. However, the screenshot does not reveal all the changes and features. But we can expect the features showcased at the MIUI 12 unveiling back in April to be present. It is likely to include improved floating windows, a simpler and cleaner visual design.

MIUI 12 update for Redmi Note 9 comes with several changes in terms of privacy and security. Plus, a new Control Center design is also present. You can check for update by going to Settings > About Phone > System update.

Redmi has teased the launch of its next smartphone in India. It is expected to launch the Redmi 9 in the country on Amazon.in. The teaser shows Prime and the reflection inside the phone shows NINE, which clearly confirms the Redmi 9 series. However, which phone will be launched is not confirmed. To recall, there are three Redmi 9 series smartphones including Redmi 9, 9A and 9C.

The Redmi 9 features a 6.53-inch Full HD+ LCD water-drop display. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 SoC. It sports a quad rear camera setup of 13MP + 8MP + 5MP + 2MP and an 8MP selfie shooter. Redmi Note 9 first sale in India today at 12 noon

Redmi Note 9 was launched in India last week and now it is all set to be made available for purchase. It comes in Pebble Grey, Arctic White, and Aqua Green colors. It is priced at Rs 11,999 for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variant. The 4GB RAM with 128GB storage model costs Rs 13,499. Further, the top-end 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version is priced at Rs 14,999.

The Redmi Note 9 budget smartphone made its debut back in April, but it is yet to reach India, the biggest market for Xiaomi. The wait finally ends now. Xiaomi has announced that the Redmi Note 9 is launching in India on July 20 via an online event that kicks off at 12 noon (IST).

The Redmi Note 9 was launched carrying a price tag of $199 (~ Rs. 15,000) for the base model, but the hardware it packs in that budget is quite impressive. You get four cameras at the back, a 6.53-inch FHD+ display flaunting a modern punch-hole design and MediaTek’s gaming-centric Helio G85 SoC.

Xiaomi brings MIUI 12 Global Stable ROM update to Redmi K20 Pro

Redmi K20 Pro has started receiving the MIUI 12 update in India. Xiaomi has confirmed that it is rolling out the MIUI 12 Global Stable ROM update is rolling out for users in the country. To recall, MIUI 12 was unveiled back in April, and the rollout of the new OS update began in June.

The Redmi K20 series is part of the first batch of phones – alongside the Mi 9T series, and Mi 10 series – to receive the MIUI 12 update. If you are a Redmi K20 Pro user, you should get notified of the update when it arrives. MIUI 12 stable beta starts rolling out for Redmi Note 8 Pro

Redmi’s Dimensity 1000+ SoC-powered phone could feature a 120Hz OLED display

Redmi is rumored to launch its first smartphone powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ chipset soon. Details such as its display type and selfie camera have leaked online. The information comes from leakster Digital Chat Station who first tipped the presence of such a device.

The tipster claims that Redmi’s handset packing the Dimensity 1000+ chipset will come with a 120Hz refresh rate. He says that the display type will be OLED. Moreover, according to the leak, the upcoming phone will feature a pop-up selfie camera.

Redmi 7A starts receiving Android 10-based stable MIUI update in India

Xiaomi’s entry-level phone, the Redmi 7A has started receiving the Android 10 update. The phone was launched last year with Android 9.0 Pie based MIUI 10. It was updated to MIUI 11 earlier this year, but it was still based on Android 9.
