No more 32GB Pixel C Google Store availability, and the 64 gig’s days are also numbered

Still in the market for a powerful but decidedly experimental Pixel C tablet with 32GB storage? You'll need to start looking outside the Google Store now.

64GB Pixel C is $100 off, Pixel C Keyboard $50 off

If you want an honest-to-goodness deal right now on an Android tablet, you might as well keep it on Google’s official tablet for its own operating system.

That would be the year-old Pixel C. The 32GB Pixel is still going at its original price of $499. Guess what the 64GB version costs these days? Through January 8 at 2:59am Eastern, you can get it for $100 off, or the same $499 as for the 32GB tablet.

Grab a Pixel C Keyboard and you’ll also get $50 off that — just $99.

T-Mobile may promote Google Pixel, but not sell it

Verizon has its retail vice grip over the Google Pixel in the US. You can’t just head over to an AT&T store or a MetroPCS store and just pick one of these things up. That’s just a matter of fact.

Here’s the thing, though: no matter where you buy it from, you do have the option of utilizing the phone at any of the major US carriers, including T-Mobile.

The Un-carrier has been playing coy about being the “resistance” to Verizon, giving out some bill credits for those who decided to bring their Pixel in from the Google Store or Best Buy, etc.

Now, sources from inside Magentaland to Android Police claim that the Google Pixel will get a display section at some T-Mobile outlets. Employees will guide interested customers through the purchase process at the Google Store or Best Buy.

The speculative arrangement is being framed as a “deal” between Google and T-Mobile, though neither would say much about it.

The telco won’t derive any hardware commission on the deal and we don’t know if its employees will benefit from these quasi-sales. Google, in the meantime, has been catching fire for brandish its “exclusive” label for Verizon without really telling people that they have other retail options (that also provide financing).

Google Store drops Huawei Watch

These days at the Google Store, you’ll find Android Wear smartwatches from Nixon, Michael Kors, Polar and, yes, Motorola.

No Huawei Watch, though. The weekend went without Huawei’s big release in wearables at the Google Store, which means that you’ll have to find it and the Huawei Watch for Women (Jewel and Elegant) somewhere else.

The development comes as manufacturers await the release of Wear 2.0 and as Huawei considers creating a Tizen-powered wearable. The smartwatch market has been slow to grow for manufacturers to sustain frequent hardware updates.

Ironically, the Huawei Watch Charging Cradle is still available to buy for $39.99.

The Really Blue Pixel is back at the Google Store

The limited edition Really Blue Google Pixel is just a little less “limited” than we thought it would be.

After posting an initial batch of the special color phone at the launch of sales, the Google Store once again has it in stock in just the 32GB Pixel (5-inch) variant. Pricing remains the same at $649.

At this point, you’ll likely be able to get a Really Blue Pixel shipped a week earlier than a Very Silver or Quite Black of the same dimensions. And let’s not even get started about the lag time for the Pixel XL.

Google opens pre-orders for snazzier Crimson and Snow Daydream View

While Google arguably made the right call finding inspiration in “the clothes you wear” for the comfortable, breathable Daydream View, it felt a little odd to pair the “Really Blue” or “Quite Black” Pixel and Pixel XL phones with the somewhat bland-looking “Slate” VR headset.

But if fashion was more important for you than getting the immersive fabric-manufactured goggles free of charge with Pixel pre-orders, it’s now time to rejoice. Deeply red and fairly white Daydream View flavors are officially available at the Google Store with estimated shipping by December 8.

Actually dubbed “Crimson” and “Snow”, the new colors add a welcome touch of flashy charm to the original fully gray virtual reality content viewer. The rose-coated variant in particular stands out, and may get its initial inventory depleted before long, what with its snowy white accents and all.

It goes without saying that all three models cost $79 stateside, supporting the Pixel, Pixel XL, Moto Z, Moto Z Force and a slew of upcoming ultra-high-end Android handhelds with identical specs, including motion controllers out the box at no extra charge.
