Enhanced Portrait Mode

Ever since the Portrait Mode feature was introduced on smartphones, it has been receiving refinements each year. This year, Samsung is using AI to emulate a professional camera. It is using  AI for three-dimensional depth, which senses to achieve a more natural-looking background blur. Further, the Samsung Galaxy S21 smartphones are receiving several face-lighting effects in the portrait mode, similar to the stage lighting effects on iPhones.

New 108MP sensor

With the Galaxy S21 Ultra, Samsung has announced its latest ISOCELL HM3 sensor. It is 1/1.33″ in size with pixels measuring 0.8μm. The numbers are similar to their predecessors. The sensor captures 12MP images by default as it uses 9-in-1 pixel binning. The company has improved color and exposure perception in the new Galaxy S21 Ultra camera. It allows you to capture 12-bit colors and widens the range for HDR photography with Smart ISO Pro.

Better 100X Space Zoom

Samsung introduced 100X Space Zoom with its Galaxy S20 series last year. However, it removed the feature from its Note flagship later in the year. The feature is now being reintroduced with refinements. The Galaxy S21 Ultra sports a more advanced 10x periscope camera. It can shoot better long-range images making it one of the best telephoto cameras in the market. Moreover, with the Ultra model, Samsung is using two telephoto cameras to allow you to set your shoot based on the level of the zoom or focal range

Single Take 2.0

Samsung introduced its Single Take feature last year. It allowed users to record a short video clip of up to 10 seconds instead of just one single photo and pick what they like. It captured a mini-video, a black and white photo, and multiple other captures in a Single Take. Now, with the Galaxy S21 cameras, Samsung is improving the already-existing feature. Single Take 2.0 can capture more frames each second. It can now record the section as a slow-motion video clip.

12-bit RAW photography

Samsung allows users to capture photos with HDR and RAW shots in 12-bit with the Galaxy S21 Ultra. As for the numbers, the images capture 68 million colors, which is 64 times the colors in a 10-bit image, This, in turn, allows a finer transition between one color to another on a photograph by eliminating color noise to a great degree.

Galaxy S21 Ultra cameras

Zoom Lock

The long focal range generally hampers users’ ability to pan and focus. To counter this, the Galaxy S21 Ultra cameras come with AI-backed stabilization to improve OIS, which is called Zoom Lock. The feature uses AI to add a slight delay while moving the smartphone to ensure the panning is smooth and non-jittery. As per the official claims, Zoom Lock provides “tripod-like stabilization.”

4K at 60FPS – both front and back

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra can record hyper-smooth 60fps videos at 4K resolution on all the cameras, including front and back. It enhances the video recording capabilities on a mobile phone.

No cut-off timer for videos

At its Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung announced that it will no longer limit your videos. The company has revoked the automatic cut-off timer on the Galaxy S21 cameras so you can keep recording videos as long as you desire.

Director’s View

Video capabilities on the Galaxy S21 Ultra cameras are upped by Director’s View. The feature enables users to record a video using multiple cameras and from different viewpoints. You can use any of the cameras while also getting the liberty to switch between them mid-roll without having to stop or pause the video.

Multi-mic recording

Samsung introduced Video Pro mode late last year with the launch of its Note flagship. It allowed users to switch among different microphone modes while recording a video. With the Galaxy S21 series, Samsung is improving the feature by letting the phone owners use multiple microphones simultaneously. It will allow you to record audio with the microphones on the smartphone and the Buds Pro simultaneously.

Vlogger View

Vlogging is the talk of the town, and Samsung knows it. The Vlogger View allows users to use the front camera alongside the rear camera. It will enable bloggers to capture their reactions while also recording something from the rear camera.

Conclusion

Samsung Galaxy S21 series sport one of the best cameras in the segment. And, the Ultra variant is taking zoom capabilities to the next level. If you are considering buying one, you might want to check out the best Galaxy S21 Ultra cases for your new smartphone to protect that beautiful camera layout and the gorgeous design.

Design and Display

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus features a 6.7-inch Infinity-O Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 2400 x 1080 pixel-resolution and 394 PPI pixel density. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and is claimed to go up to 1300 nits peak brightness. The display is protected by the Gorilla Glass 7. It measures 161.4×75.6×7.8 mm, and it is heavier than the OnePlus 8T at 202 grams.

The OnePlus 8T rocks a glass front and back that is baked into an aluminum frame on the sides. Like the Galaxy S21 Plus, you get a flat display here as well. In my opinion, this makes the user experience better since there is no side glare while looking at the screen and it is less prone to shattering if you drop the phone.

OnePlus 8T display

The device itself isn’t bulky as it weighs 188 grams, and it fits well in the hand. The OnePlus 8T comes equipped with a 6.55-inch Fluid AMOLED display with Full-HD+ resolution. It also gets a bump in refresh rate – 120Hz from 90Hz – and the touch sampling rate has been pushed from 180Hz to 240Hz on the latest device. The display is HDR10+ certified as well. It is a sharp and vibrant screen.

Hardware and Battery

The new Galaxy flagship’s Plus model is powered by the latest and greatest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC with Qualcomm Kryo 680 that allows top frequencies of up to 2.84GHz. It is paired with Adreno 660 GPU that delivers up to 35% faster graphics rendering compared to the previous generation. The smartphone comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage options. Further, it packs a 4,800mah battery.

The Galaxy S21 is powered by the latest chipset.

The OnePlus 8T is powered by last year’s Snapdragon 865 SoC, which is the same as the OnePlus 8 Pro and the OnePlus 8. The Qualcomm chip ticks alongside 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage onboard. It also comes in a 256GB variant. In my usage, I’ve never experienced a lag or stutter in the UI or while opening and closing an app. Further, the stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos only enhance the experience.

Furthermore, the phone comes with 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC. It packs a 4,500mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging and it charges the battery up to 15% in 17 minutes, and up to 85% within 28 minutes. It charges to 100% within 40 minutes.

Cameras

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus sports a triple rear camera setup of 12MP primary (f/1.8, OIS) + 12MP ultra-wide (f/2.2, 120°) + 64MP telephoto (f/2.0, OIS) lens that supports 3x hybrid optical zoom. The latest Samsung smartphone can shoot 4K at 30/60 FPS, 8K at 30 FPS, FHD at 30/60/120 FPS, and Slo-mo HD at 960 FPS. On the front lies a 10MP selfie shooter.

Samsung Galaxy S21 render credit Evan Blass Voice

The OnePlus 8T sports a quad rear camera setup. There is a 48MP Sony IMX586 optically stabilized sensor, which is a bit old. It’s the same sensor used in the OnePlus 7 series as well as the OnePlus Nord. Additionally, the smartphone comes with a 16MP ultra-wide-angle shooter that has a 123-degree field of view, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP monochrome sensor. Further, there’s a 16MP selfie shooter. In bright daylight, the OnePlus 8T captures detailed images with HDR implemented very well. Switching to the ultra-wide camera, the details are less but not drastically different.

More number of cameras doesn't mean better quality.

Galaxy S21 Plus vs OnePlus 8T: Verdict

Going back to my OnePlus 8T review, I wrote, “with a gorgeous display, an amazing performance, a long-lasting battery life with 65W fast charging capabilities, and a snappy UI, the OnePlus 8T is an easy recommendation.” By contrast, the Galaxy S21 seems like an excellent choice too! With a new camera setup, top-notch performance and superb display, the Galaxy S21 Plus is a recommended phone too. It comes down to what you prefer – OxygenOS or One UI.

Samsung Galaxy S21: what colors are available and which should you buy?

It's only fair to share...Share on RedditShare on FacebookShare on Google+Tweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Tumblr

Samsung’s latest flagship is here. The company has announced three models: the vanilla Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra. These new phones come in a total of 6 color options. Hence, it could be pretty confusing if you are in the market for a new flagship. Don’t worry. We are here to help. Here are all the Galaxy S21 colors. We breakdown which phones they are available with, and which ones we think you should buy.

The three main Galaxy S21 colors

Below mentioned are Phantom Violet, Phantom Silver, and Phantom Black colors for the Galaxy S21 trio. While the first one is available for the vanilla and Plus model, the latter two are available for the Plus and Ultra variants.

    Phantom Violet

This new Purple-Gold combination looks gorgeous! IIt has lilac on the rear with matte finish and a gold strip around the edges as well as the camera module. It is quite unique.

      Phantom Silver

Silver is one of the most classy colors on the phones. This one stands out as the rear color is a darker shade of silver and the camera module has a contrasting shade. However, for The S21 Ultra, it is only available with the 128GB of storage.

        Phantom Black

Blacks might not be catchy, but this one certainly is! It offers matte black glass at the rear with an even darker shade of black for the camera module. It looks gorgeous in person!

        More for the vanilla model

The Galaxy S21 variant is selling in three more exclusive color options. Some of these colors look fantastic, and we feel the premium variants might be missing out on the fun colors. Here are the three Galaxy S21 colors

          Phantom Pink

This is one gorgeous pink color. Samsung has really brought out the best of its flagships with these color options. The lovely pink color options has a pink and gold combination that looks fantastic.

            Phantom Gray

This one’s higher variant of the Phantom Black. It has a similar style with a muted gray on the rear and a contrasting gray for the camera module. It looks classy!

              Phantom White

White is never going out of fashion. The Phantom White color option offers a combination of white and silver. The former covers the rear while the latter is present on the camera housing.

              Samsung.com-exclusive Galaxy S20 colors

While the above-mentioned colors are available almost everywhere, there are some color options that are available only at Samsung.com. The regular Galaxy S21 doesn’t have any additional colorways. However, both the S21 Plus and S21 Ultra come with a few additional color options.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra exclusive options

Samsung is selling the Galaxy S21 Ultra in three exclusive colorways, and they are:

                Phantom Titanium

Titanium looks amazing on the Galaxy S21 Ultra. It is a mix between gray and black. The gray covers the rear of the phone in a matte finish, while t gets a contrasty-black in the camera module.

                  Phantom Navy

It appears to be a combination of those carbon-fibre skins and a dark shade of blue. The former is present in the camera housing , while the rear is covered in a matte navy blue colorway.

                    Phantom brown

This one is also available only on the ultra variant and has a carbon-fibre-like black finish in the camera housing. The rear is covered in dark brown. This one is a stand-out colour-combination.

                    Galaxy S21 Plus-exclusive options

The Galaxy S21 Plus is available on Samsung.com in two exclusive color options. These are:

                      Phantom Gold

Gold has been one of the go-to color option for companies in the past few years. This one is dazzling. It looks like its slightly darker than the camera module, while there is still a two-tone finish.

                        Phantom Red

What is a phone lineup without the color red? And this one is absolutely gorgeous. It has a color combination of red and gold. The former covers the rear while the latter is present in the camera housing. It is definitely an outstanding combo.

Which Samsung Galaxy S21 color should you buy?

Overall, the Galaxy S21 series is available in an interesting choice of colors and combinations. Some, like the Phantom Black, are a refreshing take on the so-called “boring” color options, and they look absolutely fantastic in person.

If you are looking forward to buying the Galaxy S21, you have a lot of options available. The Phantom Violet is the most unique-looking colorway, while the Phantom Pink looks gorgeous as well. If you want a more reserved color option you can look at Phantom Gray, which is essentially a slightly lighter Phantom Black color.

If you are in the market for the Galaxy S21 Plus, you still have plenty of options to choose from. And, the Phantom Violet tops our recommendation. The Phantom Black is next in line with its refresh take on the black colorway. Meanwhile, if you want to stand out from the crowd you can go with the Phantom Red color option. It’s dazzling.

Coming to the Galaxy S21 Ultra, your choices are limited. We recommend the Phantom Black here, or you could also go or the Phantom Silver if you are more into that. If you want an exclusive color option, look at Phantom Titanium or Phantom Navy.

Samsung’s Galaxy S21 is finally here. The company has announced three models in the new lineup: the Galaxy 21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra. This time around, the three smartphones are not just refined versions of their predecessors but they feature an all-new design, flagship chipset, top-notch cameras, and big batteries. Hence, you might be wondering if you should pull the trigger and buy one of these new devices. Here are the 5 reasons to buy the new Galaxy S21 series.

                        Gorgeous design

The Galaxy S21 series features an all-new design language. The camera module now flows over the devices’ left edge and blends seamlessly with the frame. This design is consistent across the Galaxy S21 lineup. However, it does come in a couple of different finishes, which depends on the base colorway of the device.

The Galaxy S21 comes in four color variants — Phantom Violet Phantom Gray, Phantom White, and Phantom Pink. That said, the Phantom Violet and Phantom Pink colorways feature a copper-colored frame and camera module, while the Phantom Black colorway features a black frame and camera module. At last, the Phantom White colorway has a silver frame and camera module.

Notably, the Galaxy S21 comes with a plastic back, which helps in reducing the bulk of the device. On the other hand, the other two elder siblings feature a glass rear. The Galaxy S21 Plus has a slightly larger footprint. It comes in Phantom Silver, Phantom Black, and Phantom Violet color options.

As for the Galaxy S21 Ultra, it sports a similar camera island, which is much larger than the camera module of the other two variants. Unlike the two vanilla Galaxy S21 models, the Ultra variant features a curved display. It comes in Phantom Black and Phantom Silver color options.

                        S-Pen!

A new addition to the Galaxy S-family, the Galaxy S21 Ultra supports S-Pen! Notably, only the Ultra variant comes with the necessary hardware to support S-Pen input, and not the standard Galaxy S21 or the Galaxy S21+. That said, the smartphone doesn’t have a slot to house the stylus. Hence, Samsung is selling cases that have a dedicated slot to keep the S-Pen.

That said, the S-Pen doesn’t come for free. Instead, Samsung will sell it separately for $39.99 in the US market. Further, the folio case, which has a slot to house the stylus will set you back at $69,99.

Samsung Galaxy S21 pre-booking in India includes a free cover worth INR 3,849

Before the Unpacked event on January 14, Samsung has opened pre-bookings of the Galaxy S21 series in India. The company is giving a free phone cover worth INR 3,849 on pre-booking any of the upcoming flagship smartphones. As per a recent report, the Korean company could also offer SmartTag and Galaxy Buds Live for free with the pre-orders. However, the official website only mentions a Smart Clear Case as a pre-booking freebie.

As per the information available on the Samsung website, consumers who pre-book a Galaxy S21 series smartphone will get a cover free. It will be a Smart Clear case worth INR 3,849. If you pre-book the smartphone, you’ll get a VIP Pass worth INR 2,000. You will then get the Galaxy S21 smartphones with priority delivery, while also reducing the bill amount by INR 2,000. However, the company hasn’t revealed if the offer is valid on any of the three smartphones or just the vanilla Galaxy S21.

Samsung is all set to launch its next flagship at the Galaxy Unpacked event, and it will take place on January 14. The event starts at 10 a.m. EST (7:00 a.m. PT / 8:30 p.m. IST) and will be live-streamed on Samsung Newsroom, Samsung.com, and the official Samsung YouTube channel as well. The company is expected to introduce three flagship devices: the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra. Plus, it could launch a SmartTag and a new pair of TWS earphones.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will feature a 6.8-inch display with WQHD+ (3200 x 1440 pixels) resolution that also supports a 120Hz refresh rate. It sports an all-new camera setup of a 108MP primary camera and a 12MP wide-angle shooter. Samsung to offer microSD card slot on Galaxy S21 Ultra, S21 / S21+ to miss out

Samsung Galaxy S21 series is all set to be unveiled on January 14 at the UnPacked event. However, ahead of the launch, the smartphones have been leaking left and right. Almost everything, from the camera details to the stylus-equipped covers has already leaked online. As if that was not enough, a new tweet reveals the information about microSD card slots on the upcoming phones.

As per tipster Roland Quandt, the Galaxy S21 Ultra will be the only S21 member to come with expandable memory in Europe. However, it remains to be seen if this will be the case in other regions. Although it’s highly likely that this model will be made available globally. He goes on to say that the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ will not have microSD card slots. You can expect Samsung to offer these smartphones with 128GB of base storage.

Samsung Galaxy S21 series’ camera details have been leaked… again

Samsung has already confirmed that its next Galaxy Unpacked event will be held on January 14, but the torrent of Galaxy S21 leaks that started a few months ago simply refuses to cease. After almost everything ranging from renders and hands-on specifications to alleged pricing and specification surfaced online, yet another leak has arrived, courtesy of Evan Blass aka @evleaks. Blass (via Voice) has shared infographics detailing the camera hardware of Galaxy S21, its Plus sibling, and the most powerful member of the portfolio – the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

No major camera hardware upgrades, but new software tricks expected

As per the leaked images, which appear to be screengrabs of the official specifications page or marketing material, the camera hardware of the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ will be identical. Both the devices feature three cameras at the back that consist of a 12MP main (f/1.8) snapper, a 12MP (f/2.4) wide-angle lens, and a 64MP (f/2.0) telephoto camera that goes up to 3x optical zoom range. On the front, both the devices come equipped with a 10MP (f/2.2) selfie shooter. It is worth noting here that not much has changed if you compare the aforementioned camera specs with their respective Galaxy S20 series counterparts.

Coming to the Galaxy S21 Ultra, it is seen packing four camera lenses at the back alongside a laser autofocus module. The main camera (f/2.2) employs a 108MP sensor, and it is assisted by 12MP (f/2.2) ultrawide angle shooter. There is a 10MP (f/2.4) telephoto camera sitting alongside another 10MP (f/4.9) telephoto camera, one of which relies on a folded lens or periscope camera system for delivering a higher optical zoom range. One of the telephoto cameras reportedly offers 10x optical zoom output, while the other one maxes out at 3x optical zoom range.

Galaxy S21 Ultra rocks a 10x periscope telephoto camera

As far as camera capabilities are concerned, all three Galaxy S21 series smartphones will be able to capture 4K videos at up to 60fps, 8K videos at 30fps, and slo-mo HD videos at up to 960fps. The Galaxy S21 trio will draw power front the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, however, some regions will get variants that come equipped with the in-house Exynos 2100 SoC that is based on the 5nm process.

Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21+ leak bares all the key specifications and features

Yet another Galaxy S21 series leak has surfaced online, and it is a massive one. After leaked renders and hands-on video appeared, we now have a detailed look at the internals and some of the camera capabilities of Samsung’s upcoming flagship family. Winfuture has shared a detailed breakdown of the vanilla Galaxy S21 as well as the Galaxy S21+, and there is a lot to grasp here, both good and bad.

A less pixel-dense display this year

Let’s start with the display. The Galaxy S21 rocks a flat 6.2-inch panel, while the Galaxy S21+ comes armed with a 6.7-inch panel, both with the Dynamic 2X AMOLED technology and a hole-punch at the top. The rest of the attributes are identical, which include a 120Hz refresh rate, FHD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) resolution, 1,300 nits peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass 7 on top. The display resolution is a downgrade though, as the Galaxy S20 series had a more pixel-dense QHD+ panel with curved edges.

In typical Samsung fashion, the Galaxy S21 family will be offered in two chipset variants. The European and Asian markets will get the model powered by the in-house Exynos 2100 SoC that is based on the 5nm process, while buyers in the US will get the Snapdragon 888 version. We already know the details of Qualcomm’s latest chip, but not much about the Exynos 2100 is out in the open.

Exynos 2100 SoC for non-US markets

As per the latest leak, the octa-core Exynos 2100 will rely on a 2.9 GHz prime core for the most demanding tasks, three performance cores clocked slightly lower at 2.8 GHz, and four efficiency cores running at 2.4GHz for less intensive tasks. Both the Galaxy S21 series offerings will come equipped with 8 gigs of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of onboard storage. Unfortunately, there is no scope for storage expansion via a microSD card

In the imaging department, both the devices share identical camera hardware, and not much has changed when compared to their Galaxy S20 series counterparts either. The two Galaxy S21 series devices feature an optically-stabilized 12MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra-wide angle shooter, and a 64MP telephoto snapper with 3X zoom and OIS.

Galaxy S21 camera hardware is almost identical to that on Galaxy S20

On the front, both the Galaxy S21 as well as its plus-sized sibling offer a single 10MP camera, which is again identical to the one we saw on the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+. As for camera capabilities, the two flagships can capture 8K videos at a maximum frame rate of 30 FPS, 4K at up to 60 FPS and slo-mo HD videos at 960 FPS.

Galaxy S21 gets the juice from a 4,000mAh battery, while the Galaxy S21+ packs a larger 4,800mAh Li-ion unit inside. Both the phones support wireless charging as well as Wireless PowerShare to juice up other devices. However, there are a few differences between the two phones.

Plastic build for Galaxy S21, glass on Galaxy S21+

The Galaxy S21 opts for a plastic build, but will be offered in a wider color palette – Grey, Pink, Purple, and White. The Galaxy S21+, on the other hand, will reportedly be made out of glass and metal, but the color options are slightly limited here as buyers will only be able to choose between Black, Purple, and Silver trims. However, Samsung might add more color options and a few special edition shades down the road.

Samsung Galaxy S21 series: India will get Exynos 2100-powered variants

Yesterday, we reported that Samsung Galaxy S21 series is already up for pre-order in India. The development came from Samsung Opera House Store in Bengaluru, which is Samsung’s biggest across the globe. Now, the same source has confirmed the chipset details of the upcoming phones’ Indian variants.

According to a report from Android Authority, the Samsung Galaxy S21 series will be powered by the Exynos 2100 chipset in India. This was expected since Samsung has always gone with the in-house SoC for the Indian market. In contrast, the US variant is likely to come equipped with the latest Qualcomm SoC, the Snapdragon 888. This information comes from a recent FCC certification that was granted to Samsung’s SM-G9991U. The upcoming Galaxy S21 series is said to feature the Snapdragon 888 5G chipset in the US and South Korea, while other markets will receive Exynos 2100 processors.

Further, the Galaxy S21 Series is tipped to have the following color variants in India:

                                • Galaxy S21– Gray, Pink, Purple, and White.
                                • Galaxy S21 Plus–  Silver, Black, Pink, and Purple.
                                • Galaxy S21 Ultra– Black, Silver.

Moreover, the report reiterates that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will sport a 108MP main camera, two 10MP sensors out of which one will have 10x optical zoom, and most likely a 12MP sensor. The upcoming Samsung flagship is said to go official on January 14. Further, it will be launched in India sometime in late January. Early adopters can already walk into the Opera House Store in Bengaluru and pre-book the phone by just paying INR 2000.

The Galaxy S21 series has been in the rumour mill for a while now.  The latest leak revealed the teasers of the trio. Apart from this, we have seen the upcoming flagship series leaked in several images. Most of these have been renders, but we have also seen the phones in real-life images

Samsung Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra appear in leaked live images

So, the floodgates of leaks have truly opened. A few weeks ago, we came across CAD-bsed renders of the Galaxy S21 series smartphones, giving us an idea of their new design language. Now, the first real-life images of the Galaxy S21 Ultra and the Galaxy S21+ have made their way online, flaunting a familiar design. The two upcoming Samsung flagships appear to rock a matte black finish on the rear panel, while the camera module seemingly flaunts a darker shade to provide some contrast and stands from the rest of the body.

But that’s not all. The leaked video, which comes courtesy of a YouTube channel named sakitech, also sheds on the camera hardware of each device. Starting with the Galaxy S21 Ultra, the smartphone is shown packing four cameras, one of which is a folded camera system that also goes by the term periscope camera and is easily recognizable by the rectangular lens opening. There is also a laser auto-focus module sitting above the LED flash.

The primary camera on the Galaxy S21 Ultra is a 108MP unit and it reportedly uses the new Samsung ISOCELL HM3 sensor that has 0.8-micron pixels. It is accompanied by a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom output and another 10MP periscope-stye telephoto lens with a higher 10x zoom output. Leakster IceUniverse also shared similar details for the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s camera hardware.

Coming to the Galaxy S21+, it unsurprisingly has slightly watered-down camera hardware, with the main downgrade being the absence of a periscope camera that is seen on its Ultra sibling. The camera hardware of Galaxy S21+ is led by a 12MP primary snapper, a 12MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 64MP telephoto camera. The camera setup is not too different from what we saw on the S20+, but the sensors will reportedly be upgraded on the Galaxy S21+ and a host of new features might be in the pipeline as well.

Leakster IceUniverse also claims that the Galaxy S21 series will likely be unveiled on January 14 at Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event. Samsung is also rumored to launch its new wireless earbuds – the Galaxy Buds Pro – at the same event, and these earbuds are said to offer two major upgrades – Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and an improved ambient mode.

Galaxy S21 might unlock using your voice, thanks to Bixby

Samsung is tipped to be prepping to launch its next flagship, the Galaxy S21 series earlier than usual. The smartphones could be launched in January, as opposed to the late February unveiling. Ahead of the launch, several leaks and rumors have revealed the specifications and features of the upcoming phones. Now, another feature leak says that Samsung could program Bixby to understand your voice as a biometric option.

Essentially, you'll be able to unlock the Galaxy S21 with your voice

The development comes from SamMobile, which reports that the Galaxy S21 series could launch running One UI 3.1 out of the box. Hence, it is likely to include new features that will be exclusive to the upcoming phones until One UI 3.1 is released for other Galaxy devices. And, one of these features might be the option to use Bixby Voice as a biometric method to unlock the phone.

To recall, Bixby had the ability to unlock the device and follow your commands after the “Hi Bixby” trigger. Moreover, it used to offer the option to set a voice password for hands-free device unlocking. However, these features were eventually baked out of the voice assistant, and cannot be found in Bixby any more. But the report goes on to say that One UI 3.1 will let you select Bixby voice unlock from the phone’s lock screen security settings. The exact details of how the feature works remain unknown.
