That new Android dialer is back with an additional screenshot

Google’s in the midst of preparing for a wide-reaching overhaul of its Android apps, and a number of disparate leaks have revealed the same sort of UI changes: flat design, circular icons, and bold color. We shared with you the latest development along these lines earlier this week, after it was discovered that Google itself shared a screengrab from such an updated version of its Android dialer app. Today we’re back to take a second look, with a new ...

Motorola working on new Droid RAZR with full HD screen?

Motorola’s RAZR brand may have started out life as an iconic dumbphone, but 2011 saw the brand reincarnated as an Android smartphone, the Droid RAZR. One year later, we got the RAZR HD (not to mention the Maxx), but then last year the RAZR name appeared to be dropped in favor of the Droid Ultra. Is that all she wrote for the RAZR’s lineage? Before we call that book closed, we’re checking ...

Google prepping apps for Android 4.4.3 – so where is it?

Last week, it finally looked like we were going to see Google release Android 4.4.3. We’d been following work on the update as evidence of its existence popped up here and there, but last Monday really upped the stakes as Sprint advised its subscribers that a Nexus 5 update was incoming – and one that sure seemed to be Android 4.4.3. We waited to see Google confirm the news with its announcement of the update, but that never came. By Friday,

Sprint backpedals on Nexus 5 Android 4.4.3 update

We started the week off with Sprint posting an update to its Nexus 5 software version page, advising users that a new release was incoming. While the initial build number of KTU48F it gave was confusing, that turned out to be a typo, later corrected to KTU84F. We had already associated recent builds like this with Android 4.4.3, and the carrier sure seemed to be confirming that a release was imminent. But then Tuesday came with no update… as did Wednesday and ...

Android 4.4.3 spotted for Sony Z Ultra Google Play edition?

Back on Monday, Sprint gave its users the heads-up that a Nexus 5 update was incoming, and based on the information the carrier made available, this sure looked like the arrival of Android 4.4.3. The weird thing was, Google had yet to announce the update itself, and even the factory image download page for Nexus devices failed to reflect the availability of this new version. As of today, we’re still waiting to see confirmation of users getting this Sprint update. ...

Android 4.4.3 incoming; Sprint sounds the alarm for Nexus 5

Google’s been working on a new release of Android: no surprise there. We’ve spotted evidence pointing to development of Android 4.4.3, with versions in testing on both the Nexus 7 and Nexus 5. We’ve even had a decent sense of what to expect from the update, with rumors suggesting that this was primarily a bugfix update, without a focus on new features. The only big question was when we might see this new Android actually released, as despite all the signs of ...

How -you- doin’, Android 4.4.3? Evidence of new builds spotted

What’s next for Android? We’re three months removed from the release of 4.4.2, and there’s already plenty of talk about new updates. Much of that has focused on delivering bugfixes to the Nexus 5 and maybe even Nexus 7, and just last week we saw a reference to a previously unknown KTU65 build for the Nexus 5 (4.4.2 is KOT49H), seeming to reveal Google’s testing efforts. Today we’ve got a little more of that sort of thing, spotting not only two even more recent builds, but finally seeing one ...
