Last week, it finally looked like we were going to see Google release Android 4.4.3. Sprint backpedals on Nexus 5 Android 4.4.3 update

We started the week off with Sprint posting an update to its Nexus 5 software version page, advising users that a new release was incoming. While the initial build number of KTU48F it gave was confusing, that turned out to be a typo, later corrected to KTU84F. Back on Monday, Sprint gave its users the heads-up that a Nexus 5 update was incoming, and based on the information the carrier made available, this sure looked like the arrival of Android 4.4.3. The weird thing was, Google had yet to announce the update itself, and even the factory image download page for Nexus devices failed to reflect the availability of this new version. What’s next for Android? We’re three months removed from the release of 4.4.2, and there’s already plenty of talk about new updates. Much of that has focused on delivering bugfixes to the Nexus 5 and maybe even Nexus 7, and just last week we saw a reference to a previously unknown KTU65 build for the Nexus 5 (4.4.2 is KOT49H), seeming to reveal Google’s testing efforts.
