Roughly six months late, AT&T updates Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge to Marshmallow

We get it, major software updates take time in the chaotic, loosely Google-governed, open-source mobile world. Especially when both third-party OEMs and notoriously laggy US carriers are involved in the “optimization” process. And yes, it makes perfect sense for the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, Note 5 and S6 Edge+ to be ...

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge on Verizon picks up Marshmallow update

With a more pronounced curve on one side of its screen than the S6 Edge, Edge+, and S7 Edge, as well as a straight left border, the road-opening Samsung Galaxy Note Edge was clearly meant as a limited aesthetic experiment. But a refreshingly large number of adventurous consumers were willing to experiment with it, so naturally, Samsung couldn’t abandon the ingenious 5.6-incher on either the KitKat or Lollipop island. Bizarrely enough, the

Android Marshallow finally hits unlocked Galaxy Note Edge

It’s been long enough since everyone else on the Galaxy train got their turn at the Marshmallow mount. Heck, the Galaxy Note Edge on Sprint got its draw. Samsung, though, is still ready and willing to spread out the fluff to a wider audience who decided to take ...

AT&T LG V10, Sprint Galaxy Note Edge and S5 Sport all jump on the Marshmallow bandwagon

Could we be looking at double-digit share for Android 6.0 in distribution numbers before long? You’d think it’s about time, with the first Marshmallow OTA packages available for Nexus devices as far back as October 2015, and build N inching closer and closer to its own release.Unfortunately, last we heard from Google, there were still less than 5 percent of the world’s Androids on the newest OS flavor, so getting to 10 might ...

Samsung’s Marshmallow update roadmap revised again, with Note 4 and Edge delays

However hard it might be to contain your indignation in regard to Samsung’s Android 6.0 upgrading sluggishness, it’s important to remember the Korean device manufacturer never actually issued any public deadlines or timelines.Besides, things are finally starting to fall into place, as select Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, Edge+, and

First Marshmallow updates for Samsung phones reportedly ‘delayed’ for February

Samsung has rarely led the way in software support and bumps to the newest Android iterations for even its best smartphones, but it’s never been as late as this year either. Marshmallows are yet to officially roll out to a single Galaxy “star”, unlike LG, Motorola or HTC devices.

Here are all the Samsungs ‘confirmed’ for Marshmallow updates in Q1 and Q2 2016

Samsung’s first rumored Android 6.0 update roadmap hinted at three phases, but only tackled device names for two, and release timelines for one. A second chart expanded on the list, also switching a few due dates, while the latest schedule once again restricts the Marshmallow-ready phone and tablet roster, turning vaguer as far as deadlines are concerned. The good news? There are apparently a bunch of Galaxy handhelds ...

Samsung reportedly begins work on Marshmallow updates for eight phones

As always, Samsung stays tight-lipped regarding the state of internal development and customization of proprietary ports based on the newest Android version, despite many of its rivals recently tackling Marshmallow matters head-on.Obviously, that doesn’t mean a bunch of Galaxy phones don’t have 6.0 goodie packs very much on the way. It just means we ...

Marshmallow update for these 17 devices confirmed by T-Mobile

Owners of some Nexus devices (Nexus 6, Nexus 5, Nexus 9, Nexus 7 2013, and Nexus Player) can already get a taste of Android 6.0 Marshmallow thanks to Google, who made the factory images available on its servers. But what if you own a smartphone (or a tablet, for that matter), and your carrier of choice is T-Mobile? Magenta confirmed the Marshmallow update to be in the works for 17 of the devices on its line-up.The page also reiterates something we know so well (and learned to hate) concerning ...

Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+ seem to sell faster than their predecessors

Samsung’s decision to remove expandability options from the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ has proven to be a polarizing topic. While some don’t care, the rest of us are truly disappointed by Samsung’s measures, even if both devices improved in overall appearance. If you’re wondering how this amounts to sales, the answer is rather shocking. The Korea Times just published news ...

How Samsung can make the Edge Display more useful

A year ago we saw Samsung debut a device with an auxiliary curved display. The Galaxy Note Edge, along with the S6 edge that followed it intrigued many technology enthusiasts and regular people alike. Devices with curved displays on the side in a sea of rectangular cookie cutter devices are definitely refreshing, but I can’t help but feel like Samsung isn’t using these displays to their fullest potential. The Note Edge brought a few Edge Display features, but the S6 Edge Display experience was quite watered down in comparison.

Not every fingerprint sensor needs to be a button

Touch. Tap. Push. Prod. Swab. Stab. The button takes a lot of nonsense from its users. And also Benny Benassi and The Biz, but if I hear “push me and then just touch me” one more time, I might need a barbiturate. Anyways, people usually don’t give these things much credit for doing what they do and what engineers have made them do.It didn’t need to be a buttonTake the iPhone 5S with its home button. It implemented a fingerprint sensor on top of it and Apple ...
