HTC Continues Hyping February 19 Event; We’re Excited, Already!

We’ve heard HTC’s Peter Chou talk about how the company needs to get smarter with how it advertises its smartphones, and based on the teasers it’s been releasing over the past couple weeks for its upcoming February 19 event, it just might have this buzz-building routine down. The latest isn’t quite so eye-catching as last week’s but it may just give us our first official look at HTC’s next flagship. Like we said, this is pretty far removed from

User Agent Profile Adds Support for “HTC One” Name

Last week, a rumor suggested that the HTC M7, the company’s 1080p Android that we’re hoping will be publicly revealed next week on February 19, would actually arrive as the HTC One. That info came from a very reliable tipster, but any rumor is a lot nicer when you can add a little confirmation to help back it up, and now we have what looks like some pretty compelling evidence in support of the HTC One name, in the form of a UAProf file from HTC itself. The UAProf for ...

Can the HTC M7 Beat the Samsung Galaxy S IV?

There are few markets in the world that host as vicious competition as the mobile market here in the United States. Every move by every company is literally do or die. In just four years, we have witnessed a handful of mobile companies fail – some new companies that couldn’t find a foothold and older companies that couldn’t keep up with the changing of the tides. We are only about a month and a half into 2013, yet the competition is as heated as ever. One of the largest trade shows of the year, where we saw several high-end 1080p handsets and even a gargantuan 6.1-inch ...

New HTC One Leak Returns to Originally Rumored Design; Who’s Right?

Our first look at the then-HTC-M7 showed us a phone that appeared drastically different from the hardware we subsequently saw in follow-up renders and pics. The handset featured extensive grille designs on both the top and bottom of its face, reminiscent of the sort of thing we see at the top of the 8X, but far larger, possibly suggesting stereo speakers. While that layout hadn’t appeared since, it’s now back courtesy of tipster evleaks, just a few days after he claimed that

HTC M7, aka ‘One’, Test Photo Surfaces, ‘Ultrapixel’ In Action?

The HTC M7 is probably one of the most anticipated phones to be announced by the Taiwanese manufacturer — hopefully on February 19 — and it’s been all over the internet lately in forms of rumors, speculations, and leaks. Recently we found out that the phone might not be called the “M7″ after all, that being just a codename. HTC One seems to be rumored as the final product name and a picture taken by a certain HTC One’s camera has surfaced on Flickr. The largest uploaded version ...

New Name Rumored for HTC M7; Could The One Series Continue?

Could HTC’s One series of Androids, started last year with the One X, One S, and One V, still have some life left in it? If phones like the Butterfly and Droid DNA had you thinking that the company might have started moving on to some other naming strategy, and all the rumors of the M7 only seemed to cement that feeling, a new rumor out today might just get you to think differently, making the claim that the M7 will launch as none other than the HTC One. This info comes to us from tipster evleaks, who has been pretty accurate with his ...

The Pocketnow Weekly Podcast, Episode 030

Even if it takes six Skype calls to make a podcast happen, we’re gonna do it for you folks, because that’s just the kind of guys we are. And it’s a good thing, too; while the news cycle has calmed down somewhat in the wake of last week’s big BlackBerry event, there’s still plenty to talk about from the worlds of Android and Windows Phone, from rumors and speculation to … well, no, just rumors and speculation, really. But it’s scintillating stuff, especially if you’re into things named “M7″ and “Nokia Tablet.” All that, ...

HTC M7 To Be Available Starting Beginning Of March

The HTC M7 will indeed be called the HTC M7, at least according to recent reports and leaks. The internal document above, coming allegedly from Phone House, appears to confirm that the HTC M7 will land on March 8, at least in France, for 649.99 EUR SIM-free, which is around $880. The specs on the sheet seem to match those which were rumored previously: a 1080p screen of 4.7-inches, 13-megapixel camera a the back, 32GB internal storage, 4G capability, NFC, Beats Audio as well as Sense 5 running on top of Android. We’re expecting to see this phone on February 19, as well as trying to ...

HTC’s New Teaser Is Kind of Creepy

We’re less than two weeks away from when HTC has scheduled its next press event, when we’re hoping that the company will unveil the M7 we’ve been hearing so many rumors about lately, as well as catching a brief glimpse of it in the hands of company CEO Peter Chou. As we eagerly await that event and the news it brings, HTC has been sending out a new teaser ad to the German press and, well… it’s more than a little odd. The depiction of what appears to ...

HTC Preparing New Sound And Camera Experience For This Year

We might as well take the HTC M7 for granted with the company’s CEO, Peter Chou, showing the device off to the drooling masses. The February 19 event is likely about this new Android flagship for the year and the device was omnipresent in leaks, reports and rumors in the recent past. Subject to speculation is the so-called “ultrapixel” sensor rumored to be part of the new Android flagship and an official HTC ...

HTC’s M7 Will Spell an Early Death for the Droid DNA

Last week, all the rumors I’d been hearing about HTC’s M7 really started to crystallize, and between HTC sending out its save-the-dates for its February 19 press event (which, were I a betting man, I’d be placing some serious wagers on it serving as the M7′s public announcement) and Peter Chou’s impassioned cheerleading for the M7 at the HTC year-end party, the M7 really started moving from the ...
