No worries about losing items! Samsung Galaxy SmartTag is here to help

But alright let’s begin with a roundup of all the official news we got today, as we have to admit Samsung’s Galaxy unpacked was quite.. Packed. I know, that terrible pun was mine. Let’s start with Samsung’s Galaxy Smart Tags and yes, it’s actually plural. The Galaxy Smart Tag and Smart Tag+ are Bluetooth Trackers, essentially designed to work like Tile’s famous trackers. Starting with the vanilla Smart Tag, it offers the same functionality of a simple Bluetooth Tag, allowing you to track objects using a Bluetooth 5.0 LE module. Now, when it comes to the Tag+, this one adds Ultra Wideband Technology, giving you more enhanced features when compared to the regular model. Both of these bring a single button which can be used to send an alert and ensure that it is connected to your smartphone at the moment, allowing you to find whatever device is attached to the Tag in case you lose it, and it also works vice versa. The company announced that they have a dedicated app for these called Galaxy Find Network. The Galaxy Smart Tag and SmartTag+ will be available in single or multi-packs starting January 29th, with the regular model starting at $30. Oh, and you can get one included with your Galaxy S21 pre-order. If you want to pre-order one, we have a dedicated link for them in the description.

Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro with ANC and 360 Audio launched for $200

Now, let’s move on to a more familiar but improved product with the Galaxy Buds Pro. Samsung claims that these bring an updated design which is intended to look more natural and less obtrusive in your ear. These bring a 6.5mm tweeter, an 11mm woofer, they are IPX-7 certified but of course, the main feature is Active Noise Cancellation. According to Samsung the Buds Pro can reduce surrounding noise by up to 99% which sounds kinda crazy. They also bring an ambient mode to help users listen to their surroundings while wearing their Buds Pro in situations like traffic, sampling sounds at up to 20db. Another interesting feature is 360 Audio which uses Dolby Head Tracking technology, for you to have more of a immersive experience whenever you’re consuming content that allows it. According to Samsung the Buds Pro last up to 8 hours on a single charge, or 5 hours if you have ANC on the whole time. The new case which looks like the Buds Live one will add an extra 20 hours of playtime, promising an hour with a 5 minute charge. The Buds Pro will cost you $199 they will come in Phantom Black, Phantom Silver and Phantom Violet, and they’re available at Samsung.com, and we have a dedicated link in the description.

Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+ arrive rocking a fresh design, fast innards, and new camera tricks

Alright, we know what you’re here for, the Galaxy S21 Series, and boy is there a lot to talk about this year. Let’s start talking about the smaller siblings before we get to the main course. The Galaxy S21 and the S21+ are finally official and as expected, they’re powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G or the Exynos 2100, depending on where you bought it. You’re getting 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, paired with a 4000 and a 4800 mAh battery respectively. The S21 is getting a Plastic Build, while the S21+ brings Glass, both of them with a new metallic camera module. Trust me, I already have the S21 and you can’t tell a difference. The vanilla S21 brings a Flat 6.5in display, while the Plus goes up to a Flat 6.7in but, both of them are a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel at FHD+ resolution, both running at a 120Hz display along with all the bells and whistles you can expect. When it comes to the cameras, both of them bring an identical module, including a 12MP primary sensor, a 12MP wide angle lens, and a 64MP telephoto, that offers 3x optical zoom and 30x space zoom, oh and the selfie camera is a 10MP shooter. Both of them are able to capture 8K video, all cameras can now record 4K, giving you new features like SuperSteady mode for 60fps, Vlogger Mode and more. That said, I think the major statement is the price. The Galaxy S21 starts at $799, while the S21+ now starts at $999, and they’re both up for pre-orders, and of course we have a dedicated link for them in the description. Yes, it seems Samsung has realized that the S20 FE strategy was genius, because pricing that S21 at just $799 is major. I think that’s the sleeper hit.

Story of the day:

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra debuts with serious camera chops and a $1200 price tag

And finally, for the hottest news today, has to be the Galaxy S21 Ultra, as it kinda feels like Samsung really did go Ultra this year. Let’s start with the basics, it brings a 6.8in WQHD+ Dynamic AMOLED panel with HDR10+ certification, and it brings dynamic 120Hz refresh rate, meaning it adjusts depending on the content of the screen and it now holds the high refresh rate, even at WQHD+. As expected it’s powered by the Snapdragon 888 or the Exynos 2100, along with 12 or 16GB of RAM and you’re also getting up to 512GB of storage as well as a 5000 mAh battery. Now, what Samsung is focusing on the most on here is the camera, this phone brings 4 cameras and a Laser Autofocus Sensor. You get the main 108MP sensor, a 12MP wide angle camera, and 2 10MP telephotos, one providing 3x optical zoom, while the latter uses a periscope system to deliver 10x optical zoom and 100x “Space” Zoom, and you get 40MP in the selfie shooter. The main camera uses 9-in-1 Pixel Binning to output 12MP shots, it can also shoot 12-bit HDR pictures and now you can even get the Wide Angle to shoot 12-bit RAW files if you have Pro Mode enabled. It brings new improvements to zoom like Zoom Lock to avoid jitter, you know for those 30x and 100x zooms to actually be somewhat usable. Like its smaller siblings it shoots 8K video but brings extra perks letting you take advantage of the incredible hardware. Samsung also announced that this is the first S Series smartphone with S Pen support, which will be offered as an accessory, but of course you can use older S Pens and yes, you’ll have to place it in the case as there is no slot here. The company is also teasing new features like UWB, which helps with Smart Tags and other partnerships announced. The Galaxy S21 Ultra is available for pre-orders in 4 different color variants, and it now starts at $1199 and of course, we have a dedicated link for it in the description.

Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro appear in a hands-on video ahead of January 14 launch

Samsung is gearing up to launch a host of new devices at its next Galaxy Unpacked event on January 14, and one of those new products will be the Galaxy Buds Pro wireless earbuds. We’ve already seen them in leaked renders, and some of their key specifications as well as pricing details have also surfaced online. Now, the Galaxy Buds Pro have appeared in a detailed hands-on and first impressions video ahead of the official launch, which reveals a lot about their features and gives us an idea about the whole package.

Impressive ambient mode, average noise cancelation

The video in question comes from a YouTube channel named Digital Slang. As per the video, the Galaxy Buds Pro are just a tad smaller than the Galaxy Buds+ that were launched last year. The ambient mode is touted to be impressive, while ANC leaves a bit to be desired and remains significantly behind the AirPods Pro. Overall, the upcoming Samsung earbuds are said to be a good value for their asking price, which is said to fall around $200 as per leaks. The IPX7-rated earbuds are said to last up to 5 hours on a single charge, while the charging case takes that number to 18 hours.

Talking about gestures, there is no learning curve here. Galaxy Buds Pro users can rely on a single tap for play/pause, double-tap for jumping to the next track or answering a phone call, while a triple-tap gesture will take users to the previous song. We also get a detailed look at the companion app and the features at the disposal of users.

A conversation trick that mimics Speak-to-Chat on Sony WH-1000XM4

There is a dedicated slider toggle for switching between ANC and ambient mode. Notably, the Ambient sound volume levels can be adjusted between low and medium, high, and extra high. The Galaxy Buds Pro also offer a feature called Voice Detect, which works in the same fashion as the Speak-to-Chat feature on Sony’s noise-canceling WH-1000XM4 headphones.

It automatically lowers the music volume and enables the ambient mode as soon as it detects that the user is speaking, allowing them to engage in a conversation without having to perform a touch/tap gesture or taking out the earbuds. Users can choose between three durations – 5 seconds, 10 seconds, or 15 seconds – for which the aforementioned mode remains active when it detects users speaking.

Six EQ profiles to choose from and a speak-to-chat feature

The equalizer offers a total of six sound profiles to choose from viz. soft, dynamic, bass boost, clear, normal, and treble boost. Additionally, touch and hold gesture can be individually customized for each earbud to quickly toggle between ANC and ambient mode, summon the Bixby assistant, increase or decrease the volume, or access Spotify. There is also a dedicated gaming mode that claims to reduce audio latency, something that is crucial while playing online multiplayer games.

Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro leak suggests a rather aggressive price tag of $199

Alright. The final bit of information regarding Samsung’s upcoming true wireless earbuds – the Galaxy Buds Pro – has finally been revealed via yet another leak. As per tipster WalkingCat (@h0x0d), the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro will cost $199. Now, that is not cheap for a pair of true wireless earbuds, but considering the features they bring to the table, the upcoming Samsung wearable might well justify that price tag.

Samsung is undercutting rivals from Apple, Sony and Bose

If you take a look at the key rivals – the Apple AirPods Pro cost $249, the Sony XF-1000XM3 made their debut at $230, while Bose’s noise-cancelling QueitComfort Earbuds are priced at $280. However, the Galaxy Buds Pro are going to be slightly costlier than the bean-shaped Galaxy Buds Live, which also offer Active Noise Cancellation. Compared to their predecessor – the Galaxy Buds+ – Samsung is charging a premium of roughly $50 for its next-gen true wireless earbuds.

READ MORE: Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro to have IPX7 rating, 28-hour battery life, 11mm bass drivers

Talking about the features, the most important one is – of course – ANC, with the Galaxy Buds Pro said to offer a better noise isolation experience than the Galaxy Buds Live due to their in-ear design. Users will be able to control the level of noise cancellation, and there will be an ambient mode as well that can be enabled when users want to be aware of their surroundings. The upcoming Samsung earbuds will come with an IPX7 dust and water resistance rating.

ANC, Spatial Audio and 28 hours of battery life

Another major selling point of the Galaxy Buds Pro will be spatial audio. This feature will reportedly rely on head-tracking to offer an immersive listening experience. Spatial audio is said to mimic the multi-directional sound experience you get in theaters. Apple offers a similar feature with its AirPods Pro and the freshly launched AirPods Max headphones too. So far, leaks have shown the Galaxy Buds Pro in purple, black and silver color options.

Each earbud comes equipped with a 61mAh battery, while the charging case has a 472mAh unit inside The upcoming Samsung earbuds will reportedly last up to 28 hours on a single charge. Samsung will unveil its next-generation noise-canceling earbuds at the next Unpacked in January event where the company will also lift the covers from the Galaxy S21 family.

Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro to have IPX7 rating, 28-hour battery life, 11mm bass drivers

Samsung products that are yet to be announced are making an appearance on the internet left and right. From high-resolution renders and color options to key improvements, almost everything about the Galaxy Buds Pro is known ahead of their official announcement. Moreover, they are said to have a  Spatial Audio feature offered by the AirPods Pro and the AirPods Max. Now, more information about its features have leaked online. While features such as Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and 3D spatial audio were already known, information about battery life, bass drivers, tweeters, and more have now appeared online.

20 percent more battery life than the predecessor.

The development comes from 91Mobiles, which cites tipster Ishan Agarwal as its source. The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro are tipped to deliver 28 hours of battery life on a single charge, which is approximately 20% more than the Galaxy Buds Live. Each earbud is said to have a 61mAh battery, while the case will house a 472mAh battery.

Furthermore, the upcoming earbuds will feature 11mm bass drivers and 6.5mm tweeters with coaxial dual speakers. The report goes on to say that the pair of earphones will have 35db noise canceling to support ANC, dual connection, and IPX7 water resistance rating. The earphones are already said to have support for multiple levels of Active Noise Cancellation. Plus, it could have features such as voice detection, seamless connection, and 3D spatial audio with head tracking onboard.

The Galaxy Buds Pro are rumored to work only with phones running Android 11-based OneUI 3.0. Moreover, these could come with special gyro sensors, Dolby Atmos, SoundAlive, customizable ANC as well as four-volume settings for the ambient mode to adjust how much noise needs to enter. These are likely to offer touch controls. The upcoming Galaxy Buds Pro are tipped to cost EUR 299 for the two available color options of Black and Silver.

Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro will offer a spatial audio feature similar to AirPods Max

In the past few weeks, Samsung’s upcoming true wireless earbuds – the Galaxy Buds Pro – have appeared in multiple leaks so far. From high-resolution renders and color options to key improvements, we already know a lot about the Galaxy Buds Pro ahead of their official debut next month. Now, a fresh leak has shed more light on their capabilities, one of which appears to have been inspired by the Spatial Audio feature offered by the AirPods Pro and the AirPods Max. The new details have been spotted (by Reddit user u/gamer0mega) in a pre-release build of Samsung’s own companion app for the upcoming, which has unearthed screenshots as well as official renders of the earbuds too.

Talking about the new features, the most important one is ‘3D audio for videos.’ The in-app screenshot describes it as a feature that will let users experience ‘immersive sound coming from all directions so you feel like you’re right in the scene when you watch videos.’ The feature sounds similar to Apple’s Spatial Audio trick that relies on head-tracking to offer a theater-like sound output. As per a detailed GitHub post, the spatial audio feature on the Galaxy Buds Pro will only be available on devices running Android 11 and likely a compass as well to delay movements.

A conversation mode is also there

The leaked plugin app details also talk about a new feature that will automatically enable Ambient mode when the earbuds detect a conversation. However, users will also be able to disable the Ambient mode with a single tap when the conversation ends. In case you’re unfamiliar, Ambient mode allows external sound to pass through so that users are aware of their surroundings, especially if the audio device they are wearing offers active noise cancellation.

Galaxy Buds Pro users will also be able to enable ANC and conversation mode via the Bixby AI assistant. Plus, the Galaxy Bud Pro will also offer the flexibility of setting a custom timeout for conversation detection. Additionally, there will also be an option to tune the volume output of each earbud individually, and these presets will be carried over when users switch to another device.

Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro leak shows the upcoming earbuds in silver color

Just a few days ago, the first leaked renders of the Samsung Galaxy Pro earbuds surfaced online, giving us a glimpse of the upcoming earbuds sporting a light purple finish. Now, leakster Evan Blass (via Voice) has shared new images of the Galaxy Buds Pro in which the earbuds can be seen flaunting a silver finish. The accompanying charging case also rocks a matching silver color, but the surface finish on it is a tad less glossy compared to the earbuds.

Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve come across multiple leaks and rumors regarding the yet-to-be-announced earbuds. To start, Samsung’s new wearable offering will reportedly be launched alongside the Galaxy S21 series flagships at Samsung’s next Unpacked event that will happen in January this year. And just in case you were wondering, CAD-based renders of the Galaxy S21 smartphones have already been leaked as well, showing a reworked design at the back. Coming back to the Galaxy Buds Pro, they are expected to come with two major improvements – ANC and better ambient mode.

Galaxy Buds Pro might offer ANC

Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro Silver Case

Rumors suggest that the Galaxy Buds Pro will offer Active Noise Cancellation, just like the bean-shaped Galaxy Buds Live. We expect that the in-ear design of Samsung’s upcoming earbuds will provide better noise isolation compared to the half in-ear approach taken by the Galaxy Buds Live. Samsung appears to have given the upcoming earbuds an aesthetic tweak by making the profile more oval-shaped compared to what we saw on its predecessor – the Galaxy Buds+.

Samsung is also said to have improved the ambient mode for the Galaxy Buds Pro. As the name clearly suggests, a dedicated ambient mode allows the passage of external audio signals to ensure that users are aware of their surroundings. We don’t know how much Samsung’s latest and greatest earbuds will cost , at least not yet, but the addition of ANC and an upgraded ambient mode will surely come at a premium.

Samsung’s next earbuds are called Galaxy Buds Pro as per US FCC documents

A few days ago, we reported that Samsung will launch new true wireless earbuds early next year alongside the Galaxy S21 series. Now, a couple of certification documents have revealed some details about them. Starting with the name, certification documents spotted on the US FCC database have revealed that the upcoming earbuds will carry the model number SM-R190 and that they will debut under the name Galaxy Buds Pro

In addition to revealing the name and model number, the certification documents on the US regulatory body’s database also give us an idea of what the charging case for the Galaxy Buds Pro looks like. The shape of the charging looks like a square with rounded corners, similar to what Samsung offered with the Galaxy Buds Live. The rated charging output of the earbuds, as per the design schematics on the certification documents, is listed as 5V-120mA, while that of the charging case is 5V-500mA (that effectively translates to 2.5W).

Charging case design schematics for the Galaxy Buds Pro (IMAGE: US FCC)

As per a previous leak, the Galaxy Buds Pro will rock a design that will be similar to the Galaxy Buds+, but they will come with a major upgrade – Active Noise Cancellation. And as we mentioned previously, the noise cancellation experience offered by the Galaxy Buds Pro will be better than the bean-shaped Galaxy Buds Live, primarily because the former’s in-ear design can more effectively seal the ear canal against external noise.

Additionally, the company is also rumored to introduce an improved ambient mode with its new pair of earbuds that will likely go official in January alongside the Galaxy S21 family at the next Galaxy Unpacked event. Ambient mode, as the name suggests, allows the passage of external sounds through the earbuds to ensure that users are aware of what is happening in their surroundings. Unfortunately, there haven’t been any reliable leaks regarding the Galaxy Buds Pro’s pricing or the color options that will be on the table.
