Apple has been an a longstanding partner with the (RED) organization in its fight against acquired immune deficiency syndrome. It will continue to back that fight presumably by donating at least some of the proceeds it makes from selling special edition Beats Pill+ and Beats Solo3 wireless headphones.
The products are now listed on Apple’s website with a new “Citrus Red” color, an option costing no different than other colors — the Pill+ at $229.95 and the Solo3 at $299.95. Availability of these (PRODUCT)RED merchandise has not been pushed yet.
There has been much progress in the treatment, perhaps elimination of AIDS in a patient and the correction of the history of how HIV/AIDS came about in the US. But there’s always the need for more research to cover more ground worldwide [in (RED)’s case, specifically in Africa] and more money for it.
Apple has been supporting the effort, founded by U2 lead singer Bono, since its inception in 2006 with a special red iPod nano.
