iPad 5 Touch ID fingerprint scanner looking confirmed

If the rumors haven’t led us astray, Apple could be just one week away from announcing its new iPad models. Despite some last-minute questions about the new iPad mini, it’s seemed like we’ve pretty much known what to expect from this pair – at least, with one big unknown: would Apple give its new tablets the same Touch ID fingerprint sensor seen on the iPhone 5S? There’s been plenty of circumstantial evidence, as well as reports from industry sources, and though we’ve had an idea of ...

Apple iPad 5, iPad mini 2 launch event could be just two weeks away

Apple clearly has a new iPad and iPad mini waiting in the wings. It’s coming up on a year since the last iterations of those tablets were launched, and all summer we’ve been fielding leak after leak of this new hardware. All that’s remained is for Apple to finally pull back the curtain and make this pair official. We’ve been expecting that to happen this fall – and maybe even this month, in particular – but a hard date has been difficult to come by.

Pocketnow Daily gets an average of 300 to 500 comments a day, and sometimes even a thousand. We’d like to thank you all for participating in our question of the day, and we love your feedback so much, that we decided that since we can’t respond to ever single one of your comments, we should at least feature a couple in a weekly video. This is the Pocketnow Daily Recap. Since we only have 3 minutes on every Daily video to go through the hottest news, the weekly recap will serve as a more extensive discussion where we also include your thoughts on the subject. Sadly, for the sake of ...

Space Grey iPad 5 pictured

Space Grey iPad 5 pictured above and below, at least according to this latest leak, that claims these images are legit, and depict the upcoming fifth-generation iPad. Apple replaced the Slate color option on the iPhone 5 with the Space Grey flavor on the iPhone 5S, and it makes sense to have the same pigment across its entire 2013 line-up. We can also see something which has been rumored or leaked plenty of times up till now: we are expecting an iPad-mini-like design, with narrower bezels, lighter overall weight, and the new color options, among which the Space Grey can allegedly be seen ...

Sapphire home buttons rumored for new iPads; more fingerprint scanners?

We’ve already heard that Apple might not want to go so far as to use full-on sapphire displays, having already experimented with the ...

Date suggested for iPad 5, iPad mini 2 launch event

Last week brought us pretty much just the Apple news we were expecting: launch announcements for the iPhone 5S, and 5C, as well as details on distribution of iOS 7. Despite some rumors in the weeks leading up to the event that Apple might ultimately bring along some new iPads, as well, that idea was once again dismissed before we even made it into September. But that just leaves the question hanging: when will Apple go official with the iPad 5 and the iPad mini 2? We’ve yet to see Apple ...

Apple iPad 5, iPad mini 2 leaked in purported images

All the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C fire didn’t even burn out completely and we’re seeing, yet again, rumors and leaks regarding Apple’s upcoming tablets: the next full-sized iPad (iPad 5), and the iPad mini refresh (iPad mini 2?). There are not details accompanying the images which are claimed to be legit. There’s also no way to verify whether the snaps are legit or not, but they seem to confirm what we were already suspecting: an iPad mini-like next iPad (and we’re specifically talking about the design). You can see a purported image of the two tablets ...
