Get two free phones at MetroPCS if you switch and add a line

The costs that usually anchor us at a cellular service provider we’ve grown out of love with usually tend to be in hardware — monthly payments on our phones suddenly become a lump sum now that we’re done with our carrier.

But if you do feel like switching over to something a little more manageable in terms of service, T-Mobile prepaid brand MetroPCS is vying for your attention with some free phones. In fact, you can port up to five numbers (not from T-Mobile) and get free phones for each of them. Add a line for however many digits you port and those lines will also get free phones, too.

Of course, you’re going to have to pick from a pool of phones and not just point at any one you want.

Beware that you do pay sales tax on anything you pick up.

Don’t groan, LG isn’t bringing even more smartphones to next week’s Mobile World Congress. Instead, the perennial number two Korean manufacturer is finally almost done filling the blanks of the low to mid-end K family, inaugurated at CES in Las Vegas, then expanded via a vague press announcement.Previously, we found out everything there was to ...

T-Mobile picks up budget-priced LG K7, ZTE Falcon hotspot

With MWC just over a week away, and new flagship models perched up on the horizon, carriers are about to start seeing a lot of new faces joining their smartphone lineups. But even before all those new players arrive, we’re seeing some fresh handsets joining the ranks at carriers like T-Mobile, which earlier today we learned is picking up the Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL running Windows 10 Mobile. Low-end LG K4 gets fully detailed in Russia, 4G LTE support on tap

Aside from the two upcoming flagships expected to improve brand profitability where it matters most, LG clearly needs a strong mid-range overhaul as well, with last year’s Spirits, Leons, and Joys lacking the focus required to give Motorola or all those rising Chinese

LG goes forward to make K-series its new mid-range line

Even if we’re talking about some low-end phones here, we give LG credit for at least dignifying them with comparatively nicer looks. We had our hands on the K7 and K10 back at CES 2016, but as it turns out, those two phones are going to be part of a series of ...

Fashionable LG K10 phone goes on sale in Korea this week for under $200

Who said budget-friendly Android devices have to go unnoticed and cater only to people unconcerned with fashion? Definitely not LG, as the recently unveiled K7 and K10 handhelds aim to stand out with now iconic physical rear buttons, as well as an overall new “glossy pebble” design language, 2.5D curved glass, and “intricate woven pattern” to the back cover that improves grip.Granted, the two are nowhere near as robust as, say,

What’s there to a name anymore? Just a letter and a number and you’re all set, right? Well, each unit kinda sorta really matters. In this case, LG has decided to bump off the “L” and “F” letters for its mid-range models this year and is adding something more than just a “V” to its vocabulary: K.

LG’s early 2016 smartphone plans start taking shape with K7 rumors

LG brought us the G4 this past spring, and we’re only just now seeing the new V10 start making its way to carrier shelves. Between the two of them (and to a lesser extent, also the G Flex 2) we’ve seen what LG can put together for its 2015 smartphone flagships – but 2016’s already right around the corner, and that’s going to spell plenty of fresh competition. As we field rumors of a possibly-very-early ...
