Moto E camera test: shooting on a shoestring budget

A 5MP fixed-focus camera with no flash, no stabilization, no front-facing selfie-shooting counterpart, and no fancy features to speak of. Yes indeed, the Moto E camera is about as bare-bones as it gets. On Motorola’s specs page for the Moto E, where even the most minor features are called out in elaborate detail, the optics section is laughably spartan: Of course, such is life on the low end of the smartphone spectrum. We already have some guidance that’s helped set our ...

“Built to last, priced for all.” That’s the motto behind Motorola’s latest smartphone designed for developing markets, and we’re in NYC to bring you a first hands-on. As you can see in the video below, the family resemblance here is strong: the Moto E is physically very similar to the flagship-level Moto X and its more-affordable cousin, the Motorola Moto E hands-on & hardware tour (Video) appeared first on Pocketnow.

Motorola Alert app debuts to keep tabs on loved ones

This morning has already brought us Motorola’s latest smartphone, the stupid-cheap Moto E, as well as a new LTE edition of the already crazy-affordable Moto G. Sure, we didn’t see any Moto 360 action, but considering what else we got it hardly seems worthwhile complaining. Hardware: covered. But as it turns out that’s only one component of Motorola’s news for us today, and we’re also learning about some new software ...

Indian retailer confirms Moto E specs and price

Despite the fact that we still don’t have an official press release from Motorola for their budget Moto E device, news is starting to trickle in by way of other sources. Indian retailer Flipkart, which has been working closely with Motorola’s India sector, has made available specifications and the price of the device, at least for the Indian market. The price listed by the retailer is 6999 rupees, which translates to roughly $117.14 USD. We will have to see about U.S. pricing when we ...

Motorola announces Moto E in promo video

A little bit prematurely, Motorola has put out a promo video outing their Moto E budget device. Though we still do not know specs or price (we will be sure to bring that to you when the information becomes available to us), this is the Moto E — it’s official. In the video, Motorola notes a “sharp scratch-resistant display,” a “water-resistant splash guard,” a battery lasting all-day (we’re assuming 24 hours, similar to the Moto X), and the latest version of Android (4.4.2) with guaranteed updates in the future. The device also comes with Moto ...

Motorola hypes tomorrow’s launch event with more super-low-cost allusions

Motorola’s London launch event is just a day away at this point, where the company’s confirmed plans to introduce us to its next smartphone. Almost assuredly, that device is going to be the Moto E we’ve been seeing so very much of lately. Yeah, we might also get some Moto 360 goodness, but if you’re looking for the sure bet, the Moto E’s the way to go. While there are quite a few ...

Moto E images in multiple colors leaked ahead of May 13 reveal, along with press renders and specs

Though Motorola’s Moto G has already been regarded as quite cheap when compared to most flagship phones out there, Motorola is not quite finished with their cost-cutting party. They are expected to announce a cheaper alternative to the G, the Moto E, at an event in London on May 13, and we have finally started seeing leaks of the design of the device. The first source shows the alleged Moto E to the right of the Moto G — we see that ...

Motorola Moto E name, pricing sees confirmation

We’ve got one week to go until May 13, the date Motorola’s told us to expect news of its next smartphone – that much, it’s been kind enough to confirm. But even knowing that a new phone is on the menu, we’re still at a bit of a loss for understanding exactly what device Motorola’s coming forward with – and there are a handful of possible candidates in the running. One of the strongest contenders, though, has been the phone we’ve heard ...
