OnePlus Nord’s camera hardware officially detailed

We know from leaks that the OnePlus Nord will feature dual front cameras, while the official sneak peek earlier this week revealed four cameras at the back. Well, the suspense is finally over, as OnePlus has finally revealed the camera hardware that has been fitted inside its highly-anticipated mid-ranger that arrives on July 21.

Starting with the quad rear camera setup, there is a 48MP primary snapper with the Sony IMX586 sensor. It is accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5MP depth sensor and a macro camera (resolution unspecified). Notably, the 48MP main camera will also bring Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) to the table, allowing users to capture blur-free photos and more stable videos.

Over at the front, you get a 32MP primary camera sitting alongside a wide-angle selfie camera with a 105-degree field of view. OnePlus has not revealed the resolution of OnePlus Nord’s secondary front camera, but a previous leak suggests it will use an 8MP sensor working in tandem with a wide-angle lens.

Here’s the OnePlus Nord in all its glory, and it looks stunning

You’ve seen the OnePlus Nord only in blink-and-you-miss-it scenes in teaser videos released so far, but OnePlus is being bold right now. OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei recently sat with YouTuber Marques Brownless (aka MKBHD) and showcased the OnePlus Nord in all its glory, aside from revealing the design philosophy behind how the phone looks.

Pei showed the OnePlus Nord in two colors – aqua blue and grey, both of which had a glossy finish. The camera module at the back is pill-shaped and there appear to be four lenses accompanied by an LED flash. Over at the front, we see two selfie cameras housed in a hole punch.

Pei also showed prototype designs of the OnePlus Nord that were eventually nixed. These canceled designs had square lens openings for the three cameras arranged in an L-shaped array, and interestingly, a dual-tone glass finish on the back akin to the Pixel 3 duo. The glass on the Oneplus Nord’s rear panel has beveled edges and merges seamlessly with the rear panel.

OnePlus Nord will feature a 105-degree ultra-wide selfie camera

OnePlus has been dropping breadcrumbs of information regarding its upcoming mid-ranger, the OnePlus Nord, ahead of its July 21 launch. In its latest teaser video on Instagram, the company has confirmed that the OnePlus Nord will feature a wide-angle selfie camera so that you can capture a wider scene without needing a selfie stick.

OnePlus says the wide-angle selfie camera on the OnePlus Nord will offer a 105-degree field of view, which should be sufficient for group selfies. This might help OnePlus Nord stand out, as a large majority of phones that feature dual front cameras usually have a primary camera for capturing photos while the second one is usually a depth sensor.

As per a previous leak, the OnePlus Nord will feature 32MP and 8MP cameras on the front, housed in a pill-shaped hole punch. The former will likely be the primary snapper, while the latter will be the one with the wide-angle lens for capturing a wider scene.

Canon launches 45MP flagship EOS R5 for $3,899

Alright, can I just say Dear Canon, welcome back. For those of you that didn’t know this show started with a Canon T3i back in 2012, and let’s just say the company really dropped the ball after. Took forever to adopt 4K, and when they did it was a horrible crop even at full frame. Like we had to move to Sony and then Panasonic, but we might just wanna go back. Hear this.. They just launched a new flagship 45MP EOS R5 camera. Yes, it costs $3899 but, this thing is capable of recording 8K 12-bit RAW video with new in-body stabilization with their class-leading Dual Pixel autofocus. Oh, and did I also mention that it records 4K at 120fps, and that it brings an articulate LCD display? So, to my buddy David Cogen who said that Blackmagic was a poor man’s RED, this just took the title.

Android 11 set to go official on September 8?

Android 11 Beta 1 was released about a month ago and yesterday we got the second version. Now, we don’t have an exact launch date for the final software but, Mountain View may have just leaked it. Google released a video titled “Works with “Hey G” Smart Home Summit – APAC” and it revealed through a check list that Android 11 would be officially released on September 8. However, Android Authority reports that Google reached out and said that the date was an error but it still gives us at least an idea of when to expect the official Android 11.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ leak reveals Snapdragon 865+ and 45W charging

The Samsung Galaxy Buds X have been certified by the FCC

Let’s talk about certifications which just keep on coming, specifically for the products we’re expecting from Samsung’s Unpacked. Now we have the specs for the Galaxy Tab S7+ which, according to the report, will bring the new Snapdragon 865+ SoC, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage along with a 10090 mAh battery which supports 45W fast charging. It’ll also bring 5G connectivity but, it will only support sub-6GHz bands. Apparently it will also pack dual cameras at the back and a 120Hz display. Moving on to another certification, the Galaxy Buds X or Buds Live just went through the FCC as well, revealing the dimensions and the fact that they will weigh around 5g. They have this bean shape as they’re meant to go inside your ear unlike the Buds+ and will reportedly cost $140 to undercut the AirPods Pro while still bring Noise Cancellation. Some leaks hint to these launching along the Galaxy Watch 3 on July 22nd instead of Unpacked but, we’ll have to wait and see.

We get more OnePlus Nord leaks

OnePlus Nord leaked in full glory ahead of July 21 launch

We’re getting closer and closer to the OnePlus Nord and now we have some leaks that actually don’t come from OnePlus. The first one is a couple of pictures posted by Evan Blass, showing the phone off in a black color variant. We get to see the quad camera array at the back along with the dual punch hole at the front, pretty much confirming the leaks and teasers we saw earlier. The second image also comes from Evan, now showing off the cases which will apparently be made by three different artists. The first two come from Swedish artists called Camilla Ermstrong and Finsta, while the third one will be a teardown case by our buddy Zack at JerryRigEverything. You gotta admit this is the most epic OnePlus launch ever and probably at the right time considering, right now what we need is more affordable phones. We get more OnePlus Nord leaks

We are less than two weeks away from the official launch of the OnePlus Nord, but that doesn’t mean that we will stop getting new rumors and leaks about the device. The latest leak lets us see some of the new cases that will be available for this budget-friendly device.

Evan Blass has recently posted some images of the OnePlus Nord, well kind of. We get to see some exclusive cases that are supposed to launch alongside the new Nord. Two out of these three new cases have been designed by Swedish artists Camila Engstrom and Finsta. The third case was designed by Zack Nelson, who we usually see on his YouTube channel JerryRigEverything. We can also see some design elements of the device, starting with the device’s USB-C port, speaker grill, and SIM slot on the bottom, while the volume rocker is placed on the left side of the device.

OnePlus Nord leaked in full glory ahead of July 21 launch

OnePlus Nord is all set to go official on July 21. The company is hyping the product by teasing its features one by one. Now, ahead of the launch, renders of the device have leaked online. These come from Evan Blass aka @eveleaks. The OnePlus Nord renders reveal the design of the phone.

We can see a quad rear camera setup arranged in a vertical array. The flash sits adjacent to the first camera. Apart from that, there is the usual OnePlus logo on the back with “ONEPLUS” engraved at the bottom. According to recent leaks. OnePlus Nord will sport a 48MP primary sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, a 2MP macro snapper, and a 2MP depth sensor.

OnePlus has also confirmed that the Nord will come equipped with an AMOLED display. It is said to house two selfie shooters of 32MP and 8MP. The device has already been confirmed to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G SoC.  It will retain the alert slider.

It seems that the OnePlus Buds may arrive alongside the OnePlus Nord

It seems that the OnePlus Nord may not launch alone. New leaks suggest that OnePlus is also getting ready to deliver more products, as its new OnePlus Buds have recently received certification from Finland’s SGS Fimko LTD.

The OnePlus Nord is scheduled to arrive on July 21, but it seems that it may launch alongside the new OnePlus Buds. These wireless earbuds show up with model number E501A, and with a charging case that may deliver a 5V/1.5A or 7.5W charging speed. This certification was issued since June 15, 2020, so we could see them launch soon enough.

Microsoft schedules an Xbox Games Showcase event on July 23

You could get your new Samsung Galaxy Note 20 on August 21

Microsoft just sent out some press invitations for their new Xbox Showcase Event which will happen on July 23rd at 9AM PST. You’ll be able to watch it on YouTube, Twitch and the official Xbox social media handles. We’re expecting to see some exclusive titles like Halo Infinite, Gears of War, Hellblade 2 and more. At Sony’s Game Showcase Event we got to see the PS5’s design for the first time so we do hope that Microsoft has something nice prepared for this event as well and a couple of weeks ago we heard some leaks about a more affordable Xbox Series S so we hope that happens at this event.

New AirPods 3 would include System-in-Package technology

We’re expecting some new entry level AirPods for next year and, according to the latest research note from Ming Chi Kuo, we’re due for a design refresh. According to Kuo, the new AirPods will adopt a similar System-In-Package to the AirPods Pro to integrate the audio features into a smaller casing as, we know that the Pros bring smaller stems. These AirPods 3 are supposed to arrive in the first half of 2021 and that the current AirPods will be discontinued. This also means that the AirPods Pro should see components shipments grow from 50 to 100% due to the demand.

This alleged iPhone 12 box insert could confirm, no EarPods or power adapter

Speaking of Apple, let’s talk about the iPhone 12’s box… yeah the box. We have a new render that allegedly comes from a reliable source of the new box, and from the image we can tell that it’ll only bring two slots, one for the USB-C to Lightning Cable and the other one for the paperwork including the stickers that come with. We assume the second one is for paperwork because, it’s way too thin for the EarPods and for the charging brick. It also has a slim cutout at the top were we think the iPhone 12 will sit. Of course this isn’t official yet but, everything points to Apple making this move.

OnePlus Nord packs four rear cameras with a 48MP main snapper

OnePlus Nord is launching in India on July 21

We have some new leaks for the OnePlus Nord as well as an official announcement. Recently Carl Pei confirmed that we would be getting OIS on the Nord’s camera and now we have more details on the actual array. According to a new Android Central report, the Nord will bring a quad-camera array that consists of a 48MP main camera, an 8MP wide angle, a 5MP macro and a 2MP portrait lens. The dual selfie camera will also bring a 32MP shooter according to the previous leaks. Now, on the official announcement, OnePlus just revealed that the event will be happening on July 21st, kicking off at 7:30PM, Indian time. To watch the event you have to download a certain application which we have more details of in the links in the description, or you can tune in via the OnePlus Nord Instagram account. Here’s the first look at Samsung Galaxy Note 20’s display

We have an official date for the next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event

And finally the hottest news today is that well, today seems to be official event confirmation day. First Microsoft, the OnePlus, now Samsung. The new Galaxy Unpacked was just made official for August 5th at 10AM Eastern Time, we’ll obviously have some live coverage and a dedicated Daily so make sure you subscribe. Thing is the image only reveals that special new copper color we saw leaked by none other than you know who. And speaking of leaks, the Note 20 just went through a 3C certification so we have some IRL images of it from a tipster on Twitter. These images are of the black color variant and we get to see the new triple camera array which still includes the periscope lens. We also get to see the S Pen which doesn’t look like it has changed much from the Note 10. Some users on Twitter claimed that these were dummies but according to another tipster, this is a fully working unit and we can confirm as the tipster also shared images of the display. These show off the tiny bezels, the centered punch hole and we’re assuming that this is the Note 20 Ultra or Plus because it brings a curved display instead of the flat we’re expecting for the regular Note 20.

OnePlus Nord packs four rear cameras with a 48MP main snapper

OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei recently confirmed that the OnePlus Nord will employ Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) tech to let users capture blur-free photos and steady videos. Now, a new report from AndroidCentral claims that the upcoming OnePlus mid-ranger will come equipped with four rear cameras.

Talking about each camera, the primary snapper will use a 48MP sensor, although it is unclear if it will be supplied by Samsung or Sony. The main camera will be accompanied by an 8MP wide-angle lens and a 5MP macro camera. The quad-camera set-up is rounded off by a 2MP portrait lens.

Additionally, teasers have already confirmed that the OnePlus Nord will use dual front cameras housed within a pill-shaped punch hole drilled in the top left corner of the display. The main selfie snapper is backed by a 32MP sensor, and it is assisted by an 8MP secondary camera to capture depth information for portrait shots.

OnePlus Nord will have this flagship-level camera feature

OnePlus is creating hype about its next product, the OnePlus Nord. The device has been in the rumor mill for a while now and the company has finally started revealing its features one by one. Further, the latest teaser says OnePlus Nord will feature Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).

The feature was teased on the Instagram Story of @OnePlus.Nord account, which was later posted on Twitter by Ishan Agarwal. The post was shared by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei with the caption, “flagship camera incoming.”

The OnePlus Nord has already been confirmed to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G SoC and come equipped with dual front cameras. It will retain the alert slider and sport a glossy finish on the rear panel. Moreover, latest leak suggests that the device will be launched on July 21.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 support page goes live, launch imminent

You could get your new Samsung Galaxy Note 20 on August 21

The leaks for Unpacked keep coming in as we get closer but, it looks like Samsung is ready for the event. The support pages for the Galaxy Watch 3 are ready on Samsung’s Indian website. The page reveals the model numbers which are similar to the Watch Active 2 and those were previously leaked. However, moving on to the Note, according to a new Korean report, the Note 20 will be available for purchase on August 21. The Unpacked Event is expected to happen on August 5th and if you take into account what happened last year, it got revealed on the 7th and spent a couple of weeks on pre-order so this timeline makes sense. This availability date is for the Korean market but, we assume it will be somewhat similar for us. The report also mentions that the S20 Lite, the LG Wing and a mystery device which we’ll mention in a couple of segments will be released in October.

Amazon slip-up reveals July 21 launch for OnePlus Nord

We’ve been praising OnePlus for their Nord marketing campaign but it looks like Amazon just spilled the beans on them. We’ve seen the design and the name leaked by OnePlus but, an Amazon India page just revealed that the OnePlus Nord will launch on July 21 and then the page was quickly pulled. The page showed a teaser of the device which said “Made to be experienced on July 21st” and it would take you to the OnePlus URL for this phone which… isn’t live yet. We’ll keep you posted as, we’re expecting to hear from OnePlus with the official launch date soon.

Here’s a size comparison of iPhone 12 models based on dummies for case makers

And that mystery device that was mentioned on the Korean report to launch in October is the iPhone 12. The timeline for this phone is very confusing but October sounds reasonable, even with the rumored delays. Now, we have some new dummy images and even a video of the new iPhones. These dummies certainly look better than the ones we got before and now we get them compared to older iPhones. He does mention in the video that these dummies are made for case makers so that’s why the cameras look like the ones on the 11 Pro and the 11, with no LiDAR sensor, as well as the same notch. We also have some pictures posted to the MacRumors forums where we can see the 5.4in iPhone 12 Pro compared to the old iPhone SE and an iPhone 7. It’s obviously bigger than the SE but it is slightly smaller than the iPhone 7 which has some people excited.

Samsung’s next foldable will reportedly be called Galaxy Z Fold 2

Let’s get back to Unpacked. We’re expecting the successor to the Galaxy Fold to be announced but apparently, the name is about to change. According to SamMobile, Samsung will dub the new Fold the “Galaxy Z Fold 2″. If you think about it, it kind of makes sense because Samsung apparently wants to unify all of their foldable products under the Z letter. According to them, the “Z” branding “intuitively communicates the idea of a foldable product while delivering a dynamic and youthful feel”. The Fold 2 is expected to bring new batteries which add up to 4365 mAh, a new UTG glass, the Snapdragon 865, along with the S20+’s camera array with that new design we covered a few weeks ago. Even though the naming makes sense, we’re just wondering why they didn’t unify their foldable products under the Fold name like the Note because, what else could portray the idea of a foldable product better than the word Fold?

Story of the day:

New leak reveals alleged renders of the Google Pixel 5

And, by this point you know the story, we’ve been waiting on the Pixel 4a for ages and naturally, Pixel 5 leaks are now starting to emerge. We have some new CAD renders that allegedly belong to the Google Pixel 5 and they kinda look like if the Pixel 4 and the 4a leaks had a baby which, makes sense. If you even think of it, they look a lot like the leaks of the Pixel 4A XL that was reportedly canceled. Now, the source claims that the phone is still in the works so these aren’t final CAD renders. The first thing you notice is that the whole radar module at the front is gone and it was replaced with the punch hole that we’re expecting for the 4a which means that the capacitive fingerprint scanner is back. An odd move at a time when fingerprint scanners are all on the display. Speaking of the back, it looks like we might be getting only two cameras again even though we have no word on that just yet. Also, remember that this phone might be more of a mid-ranger so, we’re expecting for it to bring a Snapdragon 765, and the display will be a 5.78in QHD OLED.

Amazon slip-up reveals July 21 launch for OnePlus Nord

It's only fair to share...Share on RedditShare on FacebookShare on Google+Tweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Tumblr

OnePlus has lately been teasing its upcoming mid-ranger – the OnePlus Nord – and has also given us a glimpse of its design via its social media channels, but a launch date has so far remained under the wraps. Well, in what appears to be a slip-up, Amazon India briefly listed a page that revealed the OnePlus Nord’s potential launch date – July 21.

The landing page, which has now been taken down, mentioned that the launch event was “made to be experienced 21st of July” and also had a link that redirected to a OnePlus website URL which is yet to go live. Promotional images that were spotted and later shared on Twitter suggest that OnePlus will hold the event in AR format as well.

As for the device itself, OnePlus Nord has been confirmed to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G SoC and will pack dual front cameras. Moreover, OnePlus’ official trailer has revealed that its next offering will retain the alert slider and will flaunt a glossy finish on the rear panel.

Google is finally implementing 64-bit architecture for Chrome on Android

Yes, there is no denying that Chrome is the most popular web browser in the world.. I mean hey, it’s even got its own operating system. The problem is that it’s not necessarily the most up to the latest standards. 64-bit architecture on Android was announced pretty much half a decade ago and well, let’s just say it’s still something Google hasn’t really handled well. We know that Chrome has been stuck on 32-bit but it looks like they’re finally ready to move on. Android Police just spotted that the Chrome 85 and 86 dev build that they are listed as 64 bit apps. Thing is, there’s a catch:b it will only be available on devices running Android 10 and later. Google announced last year that they will be phasing all of their 32-bit apps by August 2021 and this just shows that they’re on track.

Samsung briefly listed the upcoming Galaxy Tab S7+ 5G on its official website

Like seriously, if there’s someone I trust when it comes to Samsung leaks, it’s Samsung. At this point we’re not really surprised when Samsung leak their own products through their European websites. This time, Samsung Germany listed the Galaxy Tab S7+ 5G on their website and as per usual, it was quickly pulled. Other than that this listing didn’t reveal much but we did get some leaked specs for the S7 line last month and they included a 12.4in AMOLED display, the S Pen will now be magnetically attached to the back and it will be aligned with the new dual camera module. On the front side, it looks kinda similar to the latest iPads and the selfie camera has been moved to the side so you can use it while the tablet is on landscape mode.

LG could give us the first rollable smartphone next year

LG has been reluctant to hop on the foldable phone trend and have opted to go for dual-displays instead. Now, it looks like the company is finally ready to join but in a different way. Last year we got some patents of a roll-able phone and according to a new Korean report, LG is working on bringing this device to the market in early 2021. It’s currently called Project B and the prototype is already under production, but get this.. They’re using a BOE display. The report also mentions that LG might release their phone as they have been losing money on their mobile division and some innovation might help them get out of this slump. We’re expecting LG to release this phone, a “horizontal device codenamed Wing” and a “traditional looking” flagship in Q1 of 2021.

Here’s an official sneak peek at the OnePlus Nord’s design

We’re expecting the OnePlus Nord to launch some time next week so naturally, the hype is ramping up. OnePlus just put out a new teaser on their Instagram account and we get to see the actual phone. The trailer focuses on the past and staying true to who you are, probably hinting to OnePlus going back to their roots with their “New Beginnings”. Then towards the end of the video you can see the phone going into a pocket but if you freeze it we can see the camera module which looks pretty much like the renders we got months ago. It has the OnePlus logo in the center and it comes in that Blue color variant we’ve been expecting. There’s another picture where you can see the front of the phone but we can’t really see the dual selfie cameras but we saw those a couple of days ago in the other teaser. Here’s the thing. Regardless of the teaser, can we just give props to OnePlus for this marketing campaign. It’s totally achieving the interest they’re look for.

We have new Ming Chi Kuo report where he claims that the iPhone 12 will bring some new “high-end” 8-element lens arrays to improve image quality. These premium camera lenses will be supplied by company called Largan and will start shipping in a couple of weeks. Production has reportedly been delayed by 6 weeks, meaning we’ll see production reach its peak by September-November instead of the usual August-October. Anyways, as for the second topic, if you wanted any confirmation that Apple is removing the charger on the iPhone 12, wait no more. Apple is sending out surveys to people in Brazil on what they do with their older chargers,.. yeah you heard that right. Now, so far the survey has only been found in Brazil so it may be limited right now, or it might be a regional thing, but it asked what the user did with his previous iPhone 7 charger, asking if he recycled it, gave it to a family member or friend or if he still has it and uses it. Now, we’re not 100% sure if Apple will remove the charger this year but if this survey is real, it looks like it’s happening. Here’s an official sneak peek at the OnePlus Nord’s design

OnePlus confirmed a few days ago that its highly anticipate upcoming mid-range phone will be called OnePlus Nord. Now, a new teaser video titled “OnePlus Nord – Dear Past” has given us our first glimpse of what the phone actually looks like, and from what we just saw, we ain’t complaining.

At around the 1-minute mark in the video, we get a momentary but clear look at the OnePlus Nord from the front. The phone appears to have a flat display (thankfully) with slim bezels and the glass slightly curving around the edges. More importantly, we get to see two selfie cameras in the top-left corner housed in a pill-shaped hole-punch.

Another notable aspect is that OnePlus has retained its signature alert slider on the phone. Over at the back, we see a vertical black strip that houses the rear cameras. The rear panel appears to have a glossy finish and gives a similar vibe to that of the Samsung Galaxy S20. Here’s the teaser video for your own viewing pleasure:
