TCL teases the launch of a QLED TV in India on June 18

TCL recently launched new Android TVs that have a starting price of just $129. Now, the company has teased the launch of a QLED TV in India. The company will be hosting a digital event on June 18 in the country.

TCL took to Twitter to reveal the latest development. The tweet includes a link to a pre-registration page. Going to that page reveals the launch is actually for a QLED TV and not a smartphone or budget TV.

The online launch event will begin at 12:30 PM IST. The company says those who pre-register will win prizes and get exclusive early bird offers.

TCL now offers a new Android TV lineup in the United States

TCL is one of the world’s largest and best-selling electronics brands. Now the company has announced that it will sell Android TV models for the first time in the United States. The company has sold Roku TVs since 2014, and now it will add Android TV to its TV sets, allowing users to enjoy their devices and content the way they prefer.

“It is no secret that TCL’s rapid growth coincides with the increasing adoption of smart TVs, but this resounding success is largely due to our innovation, vertical integration, massive business scale and of course, strong relationships with partners like Roku.”

“Our award-winning TV lineup helped propel us into America’s second-largest TV brand just five years after we introduced our products in the U.S. and with those significant achievements, we believe this is the perfect time to deliver another option for consumers with Android TV.”

“Since the first day TCL launched in North America, we’ve been focused on becoming one of the most popular TV brands by paying close attention to what our users value. Consumers desire options and our mission is to serve them with our latest multi-OS strategy. We’re excited to introduce new customers to TCL with our expanded television assortment and smart solutions in additional categories like TCL-branded home appliances, audio products and mobile phones – a broad offering that will further establish the company as a clear leader in the electronics space.”
Chris Larson, Senior Vice President for TCL North America

TCL 10L, 10 Pro will get Android 11 upgrade and two years of security updates

When it comes to software updates, mid-range and budget phones are often put on the backburner, leaving them a hot mess of unresolved issues and devoid of new features. But TCL is trying to make a statement here by promising at least one major OS upgrade to Android 11 and two years of security updates for the TCL 10L and 10 Pro mid-rangers.

“We can confirm both the TCL 10 Pro and TCL 10L will, at minimum, receive one major OS update as well as SMR updates every two months for 2 years,” a TCL spokesperson was quoted as saying by XDA-Developers. To recall, TCL 10 and its Pro sibling were launched last month packing some decent hardware at an affordable price.

Both the phones have a quad-camera setup at the back, with the TCL 10L using a 48MP main snapper while the TCL 10 Pro features a 64MP primary camera. The TCL 10L is powered by the Snapdragon 665 chip and is priced at $249, while the TCL 10 Pro relies on the Snapdragon 675 chip and costs $449 in the US.

MediaTek announces a its new Helio G85 gaming chipset

MediaTek has announced a total of three gaming focused chips this year. Now we get the MediaTek Helio G85 which is similar to the G80 but it includes a faster GPU. The first phone with this processor was announced last week and it is the Redmi Note 9. The G85 comes with a new 1GHz ARM Mali G52 GPU and a HyperEngine Game Technology enhancements. It also includes two ARM Cortex A75 cores running at 2GHz and 6 Cortex A55 cores running at 1.8GHz, all built on a 12nm process. It also has AI capabilities, better battery life and more features. Expect it on smartphones coming soon, we’ll keep you posted.

Apple’s WWDC 2020 starts on June 22 with an online-only, free-for-all format

We’ve been waiting on Apple to give us the exact way they will be carrying on with WWDC and they finally confirmed it. The Event will start on June 22 and it will last for a week, of course through an online event which according to them will be their biggest one, allowing all of their developer community which includes 23M people to be there in an unpresented way. You can also watch if you want by downloading the Apple’s Developers app.

Microsoft Surface Book 3 GPU details leaked. (Sorry folks, no RTX 20-series here!)

The Microsoft Surface Book 3 recently went through a certification revealing that it will bring an Intel Core i7 processor, 32GB of RAM and two screen sizes: 13in and 15in. Now we got some new info from Twitter disclosing the GPUs. According to the tipster, the 13in variant will bring an Nvidia GTX 1650 (4GB GDDR5) and the 15in variant will bring an Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti (6GB GDDR5). The 15in is also reportedly bringing Quadro graphics but there’s no more info on those, though regardless it still seems that 15-inch seems quite capable. We’ll keep you posted as these are expected to drop some time this year.

The Google Pixel 4a is already being used by top Google executives

Now let’s talk about the Google Pixel 4a. Today we get a leak from the head man himself, Rick Osterloh.. Sort of.. He just tweeted out a new image of his Earth Badge on Fitbit and the UI clearly shows a space for the punch hole on the top left corner which isn’t present on other Pixel phones. Now, one of the biggest deal breakers of the iPhone SE is the battery is good, but not great, and which we’re hoping the Pixel has a better one but his device is at 80% and it’s barely 10am for him, so either he’s a late riser, or it might not be great at all. We’re about 10 days away from the speculated launch.

Story of the day:

POCO F2 Pro Gearbest product page goes live, features teased

And finally for the hottest news today.. Sort of, let’s talk about Poco. I mean, the orignal PocoPhone was a huge deal back in 2018 due to the impressive specs for a very cheap price tag. If there’s one company that can compete with the iPhone SE, it’s this one. Two months ago the company made their first independent launch with the X2 which wasn’t released globally, now the company just put out teasers and published a new product page live on Gearbest, telling us about the launch of the F2 Pro. The teasers hint to the phone looking like the Redmi K30 Pro but being a totally different device and not just a rebranded variant, bringing the Snapdragon 865, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The Problem, well if you’ve been following other rumors, the price might be starting at €649 in Portugal with the higher tier variant going up to €749. Yeah, it seems Poco is joining OnePlus in not offering the best value proposition they’ve been known for. It's only fair to share...Share on RedditShare on FacebookShare on Google+Tweet about this on TwitterPin on PinterestShare on Tumblr

The latest 13-inch MacBook Pro was announced by Apple yesterday. This has made several retailers lower the prices for the previous model; that’s still a great buy. The previous-gen MacBook Pro is available for $1,095 after a $204 discount when you choose the version with 128GB in storage. You can also get the one with 256GB for $1,300 after a $199 discount.

If you’re looking for a new smartphone, the last device of LG’s G series is available for just $400. The LG G8 ThinQ with 128GB in storage in Aurora Black gets this price after a $200 discount. This is a factory unlocked version, so you can use it in any network without a problem, and it also includes a US warranty.

Next up is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e with 128GB in storage. This Wi-Fi only variant is the 2019 model, and it will save you $80 upon purchase. In other words, you can get one after paying $400. However, if you feel like you don’t need that much storage space, the 64GB version is available for $350 after a $50 discount.

If you want a new smartwatch, the Garmin vivomove HR hybrid smartwatch is $55.77 off, meaning you can get one for $144.22. It lets you stay connected with smart features that will allow you to control your music, notifications for incoming messages, calls, calendar reminders, and more. It also includes sensors that will monitor your heart rate, stress levels, sleep, and the best part is that its battery can go up to five days in smart mode or two weeks in watch mode, but this last one will only tell you time.

You can also get a new 65-inch TCL 8-series TCL Roku TV for $999. However, this is a today only offer that you may want to check if you’re looking to get a new smart TV.
