NVIDIA and MediaTek join hands to bring RTX graphics to Chromebooks

NVIDIA made a slew of announcements today, with the most notable one being a return to making ARM-based processors starting with NVIDIA Grace for AI data centers. However, there was another ARM-related announcement that flew somewhat flew under the radar but could have a significant impact on a whole ecosystem of products – and specifically, Chromebooks. NVIDIA has joined hands with MediaTek to create SDKs that might eventually bring the power of GeForce RTX graphics to Chromebooks.

“In PCs, NVIDIA is partnering with MediaTek, one of the world’s largest suppliers of Arm-based SoCs, to create a reference platform supporting Chromium, Linux and NVIDIA SDKs. The combination of NVIDIA RTX GPUs with high-performance, energy-efficient Arm Cortex processors will bring realistic ray-traced graphics and cutting-edge AI to a new class of laptops.”
MediaTek CEO Rick Tsai remarked that the partnership with NVIDIA will bring GPU acceleration to the ARM PC ecosystem, giving a boost to the gaming and content creation prowess of such machines. Interestingly, the joint development of SDKs only covers Chrome OS, Linux, and NVIDIA, but Windows is missing from the picture, despite a version of it running on ARM-based machines such as the Surface Pro X range that is powered by custom chips made by rival Qualcomm.

Are MediaTek-powered Chromebooks ready to take Stadia gaming experience to the next level?

Now, MediaTek’s chips can be found powering a healthy number of low-end Chromebooks which have recently exploded in popularity. While Chrome OS-powered machines are deemed fit for the education segment and browser-based work, the arrival of Stadia has turned them into viable gaming machines. A MediaTek chipset with NVIDIA’s graphics will definitely give a big boost to the gaming chops of Chromebooks and give Windows on ARM some stiff competition in the comparable price brackets.
NVIDIA makes it clear in the press release that the partnership with MediaTek aims to ‘create a new class of notebooks powered by an Arm-based CPU alongside an NVIDIA RTX GPU.’ However, there will still be some competition here. Samsung is reportedly going to equip a few of its upcoming laptops with an in-house Exynos SoC that has an AMD GPU onboard. A leaked benchmark of an upcoming Exynos SoC armed with an AMD GPU left Apple’s beastly A14 Bionic far behind when it comes to graphics processing.

Intel aims to sell ARM chips to Apple days after anti-Mac ad campaign

More evidence of next iPad Pro chip being based on Apple M1 surfaces

Let’s move on to Intel just for a quick second as it looks like their marketing team doesn’t talk to their other teams. If you remember, last week they launched those ads with Justin Long, aka the Mac himself, on how PCs are better since they’re still powered by Intel. Well, now their CEO just went on to basically say that they want to become a major provider of products that include x86 and ARM chips, with one of the companies they want to serve being Apple. I know, hilarious considering that they sold their ARM business years ago, and about Apple we know why. But alright, speaking of Apple and chips, let’s talk about the upcoming iPad Pros. The guys over at 9to5Mac have found references of an A14X chip in the iOS 14.5 Source Code which we are still waiting on. And apparently, the report mentions that the A14X is based on the T8103, which is the codename for the M1 Chip. This goes along with a previous Bloomberg report where they claimed we could expect an updated and faster processor that was on par with the M1. So yeah, we should be getting close to those iPad Pros with better processors, mini-LED displays and more, hopefully some time in April. If only they ran macOS..

LG might shutter its phone division after failing to find a buyer

Let’s move the spotlight on to some rather sad news, when it comes to LG. Last week some reports came out that LG’s Rollable was back in play, even with the rumors that LG might sell their smartphone business. Well, now we have a new report from a Korean news agency that claims that LG’s plans to sell their phone business have fallen through, for real this time. Apparently local sources claim that LG is now planning to shutter their smartphone division altogether after their negotiations didn’t work out. So apparently, not only the plans for the Rollable but for other phones like the LG “Rainbow” concept have been put on Ice at the moment. So of course, these are just reports but nothing to not be worried about given the amount of innovation LG meant to the market. We have heard from previous reports that the employees would be shifted on to other positions within LG, we hope that’s true but of course, we should wait until we get official statements.

Qualcomm is working on a Nintendo Switch-like console that runs Android 12: Report

Now, let’s talk about Qualcomm and the Nintendo Switch.. Yeah, completely unrelated since the Switch runs on NVIDIA, but you’ll get where I’m going. According to a new report from Android Police, Qualcomm is taking a Snapdragon chip and putting it into an Android-powered game console that has detachable controllers and the ability to connect to televisions. So yeah it’s not really a Nintendo Switch but.. Qualcomm wants to do a Switch. The report claims that the core of the device would be thicker and bulkier than a smartphone. And we could expect this chip to be the next generation of Snapdragon Silicon which should be released some time in Q1 of 2022, meaning it’s most likely the 888s successor. It would also bring a 6,000 mAh battery with Quick Charge, 5G, dual-zone haptics, an SD card Slot, Bluetooth and more with the controllers being sourced by a third party. Now, this console would be running a “customized launcher” of Android 12, and besides the Play Store, it could also brings the Epic Games store pre-installed which makes it pretty interesting considering their catalog. The target price is reportedly set at 300 dollars but, we don’t know exactly what that will get you. We’ll see how the reports evolve as, well we already saw the NVIDIA Shield flop.. That said, it may have been ahead of its time as Android games are far better now.

Story of the day:

iPhone 13 tipped to use 120Hz LTPO displays from Samsung

Alleged image of iPhone 13 series front glass shows a smaller notch

But finally, for the hottest news today let’s talk iPhone 13 as, the reports have kinda slowed down but it looks like they’re picking up again. Over the past couple of months, most of the iPhone 13 reports have kept mentioning 2 things: 120Hz refresh rate and a shorter notch. Well, now we have a new report and even some hands on leaks for these 2 things. Starting with a new report from the Elec which says that Samsung Display will convert their OLED line-up dedicated to Apple into LTPO Displays within the first half of 2021 as, we’re expecting both Pro models to feature this technology that also allows them to run at 120Hz. But, moving on to hotter leaks, we have some new images recovered by MacRumors that show the front glass cover for 3 of the iPhone 13 variants. You can see the significantly smaller notch, and they do show how apple has rearranged Face ID and slimmed down some of the components to achieve this smaller notch. Another thing to notice is how the ear piece on this notch would be next to the phone’s frame, pretty much the design Android Phones have followed for about two years. We will apparently have this for a year as Ming Chi Kuo claims that we could be seeing some punch holes next year.

The OnePlus 8 series, Microsoft laptops and more are on sale today

4th-gen Echo, and more accessories to pimp out your home office are on sale right now

Let’s end the week like we start it, with deals. I find it crazy that phones that were launched a month ago are already seeing discounts but the brand new Galaxy S21 is now 150 dollars off on both Amazon and B&H, meaning it starts at 700 dollars and add free shipping to that. Moving on to Verizon for a second, they have the Google Pixel 4a for 240 dollars off if you have a device to trade-in and you grab a new phone line, cause of course it wasn’t gonna be that easy. The new Amazon Echo is 20 dollars off, leaving it at 80 dollars shipped. OnePlus also has the OnePlus 8 for 200 dollars off if you get the 12GB of RAM variant, leaving it at 600 dollars. The 8 Pro is also getting the same treatment where that same variant will cost you 800 dollars. We also have deals on more Amazon speakers, Surface Laptops, Beats Headphones and more in the links below.

Samsung’s “Buy and Try” program will let you try out foldables for 100 days

Let’s move on to foldables and official news, for a couple of segments actually… I know, what’s wrong with the world today? But don’t worry, they’re actually worth it. We know that Samsung is probably the biggest player in the foldable market but, this market isn’t exactly mainstream just yet, with the biggest problem being the price tags and the existing concerns. I mean, imagine spending so much money on a phone and not being sure if it’s sturdy enough to last your average use.. Which yes, is why we have the After The Buzz series.. Let me know if you’d like that for the Z Fold 2. Well, it looks like Samsung kind of has a solution for this. The company is launching a new “buy and try” program on Samsung.com where, if you buy the Galaxy Z Fold 2 or a Z Flip 5G, you will have to pay the full price for the device *but*.., instead of the typical 14 days or 30 days for a return period, you’ll have up to 100 days to return the device if you figure out that this isn’t the right fit for you. And of course, you’re still paying full price for the device unless you get one of those trade-in deals but, if you were thinking on buying and weren’t sold.. This is a pretty good way to test the waters out. We’ll make sure to have links for both of these devices in the links below… though that said, this program ends on April 1st. You might have to act quick, but then it makes me wonder if there’s something else coming in April?

OPPO Find X3 series alleged price and color variants leaked

Now let’s talk about OPPO, as we’re still expecting the company to launch a Find X3 Series relatively early this year if last year was any indication. Rumors hint that it would come out some time in March so, naturally, certifications and leaked images have started flowing in. According to a new report from 91Mobiles, their source claims that the Find X3 Pro will come in 4 color options, that being blue, white, orange and black. Now as for specs, apparently there will only be a single variant that’ll pack 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage and it will be priced between €1000 and €1200. Now, we’re also expecting the Find X3 Neo which will reportedly be a rebranded Reno5 Pro+ which will bring the same amount of RAM and Storage for around €851 and €973. Finally, the Find X3 Lite will bring 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and it will be priced at around €400 to €500. Now, focusing on the Pro, we’re hearing that the other specs include a Snapdragon 888 SoC, Android 11, a 4500 mAh battery, triple cameras at the back and OPPO will apparently be focusing a lot on that new display. We’re pretty much already in March so, let’s see what we get.

14-inch MacBook Pro to arrive with mini-LED display and more?

Let’s move on to Apple and those Macs we’re expecting to come very soon. Earlier this week we covered a new report from Ming Chi Kuo where he claimed we would be getting 2 new Macs in the second half of 2021,.. you know those that sound just too good to be true by featuring an SD Card reader and an HDMI port, along with a brighter display.. all things consumers actually want from a pro computer. Now, we have a new report from DigiTimes that gives us more information on those new displays. According to the report “Apple is expected to unveil 14 and 16-inch mini-LED backlit MacBook Pro models, with a company called Radiant being the exclusive supplier of BLUs . Of course, this just serves as further conformation that Apple is finally moving on to these displays after years of rumors. As for the Macs, other reports claim that we should expect them around the middle of the year but still in the second half so, September or October event? Other things we’re expecting from these Macs include new and faster Apple Silicon chips, MagSafe with faster charging, and they could also be getting rid of the Touch Bar. Honestly, these just keep sounding to good to be true that I’m seriously gonna have a drink and celebrate if they become a reality. Fine maybe more than one drink.

Story of the day:

Facebook wants you to believe that ads are good in the name of small businesses

And finally, for the most hilarious news today, let’s talk about Facebook. You know I’d rather avoid talking about them as I’ve never been secretive about my lack of admiration for its practices, but here goes. Over the past couple of weeks, maybe even months, Facebook has been going after Apple for the privacy changes we’re supposed to be getting with iOS 14.5, where you’ll choose if you want apps to track you or not. Well, yesterday, Facebook put out a new blogpost titled,.. hear this, “Let’s Talk About Why Personalized Ads Matter”. If you want to read it, we’ll leave the link in the description but just to give you the shorter version, they are trying to convince you that “you need your online habits tracked, in order for them to provide more ads for you, and you should actually be thankful that Facebook is doing that”. Oh, and they’re actually launching an ad campaign to go along with it titled “Good Ideas Deserve to be Found”. Now, here’s the thing, we agree that Good Ideas Deserve to be found, I mean, the ad does make a point on how difficult it is for small businesses to be found, the question is why are they insisting so much on the tracking. It’s simple, those who want targeted ads will opt in, those who don’t want them, or find it creepy that they’re tracked, wont. Now, Facebook was attempting to sue Apple, we’re not sure on how that’s currently going but one of the reasons why it might not have made it to court, is because Facebook’s own employees agree that this is not a good move, considering their past actions with privacy and how they’re trying to sell themselves as freaking Robin Hood.

Of course, you get your typical set of features like Pro Modes, Tracking Shots, High-Res and more. On this phone you’re also getting a 4500 mAh and 55W fast charging and yes, it is sadly exclusive for China and it doesn’t have Google Services. Thing is, the other reason why it’s different is because if you do the math, this phone costs a crazy $2775.. Yeah, high-end MacBook Pro territory, and I’m trying to figure out why.

AirPods 3 leaked images allegedly show off an in-ear design akin to the AirPods Pro

Let’s talk about Cupertino and their upcoming March Event as we get closer. Last week we covered how we could be getting new iPad Pros, AirTags, maybe an iPad mini and maybe some new AirPods. Over the weekend Jon Prosser made a video on the products his sources have told him we’re getting and that includes, iPad Pros, AirTags and a Magic Keyboard for that iPad Pro. However, he didn’t rule out the fact that we could get more things, he just wasn’t aware at the time. Well, going back to those AirPods, we have some new leaked schematics, showing off the new design. As the previous leaks claimed, these are taking design cues from the current AirPods Pro which is very welcomed if you ask me. They bring the black pressure sensitive touch input area, and the pressure relief vents at the top as well. They are also expected to support Spatial Audio but, Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency Mode won’t be making the cut to separate them more from the Pros. Apparently the price tag will be $150 and this leak also claims that they will debut in March so we’ll see if we get them at the event.

MacBook Pro with SD card slot, HDMI port to launch in H2 of 2021

Sticking to Apple for another segment let’s talk MacBook Pro and I actually had to read this report twice because it sounds too good to be true. See MacBooks Pros have historically been criticized for repeatedly killing ports that Pros *actually* use, but just like we’ve seen with the iPhone, seriously it’s as if Apple finally listens. According to a new report from non-other than Ming Chi Kuo, Cupertino plans to release 2 new MacBook Pro models that, hear this, come equipped with an HDMI port and an SD Card reader.. A full throwback to the 2012 model, and I really hope I’m reading this right. Kuo mentions that we should expect these two new MacBook Pro models in the second half of 2021 that will have several significant design and specification changes. Of course, the SD Card reader was rumored last month but, this is the first time we’re hearing about this dedicated HDMI port. So, we’re expecting new 14 inch and 16 inch variants of the MacBook Pro, both powered by Apple Silicon. These are also tipped to feature brighter, higher-contrast panels, probably thanks to new mini-LED panels and MagSafe could be making a return to laptops as well which could apparently make them charge faster. We don’t know exactly how much they plan to scale back the USB-C ports but, I feel like 4 USB-C ports along with these new leaked ones are pretty reasonable, and especially at how high Apple prices these computers.

Story of the day:

Google Pixel 5a leak shows a familiar design with an upgraded dual rear camera setup

Yes.. It’s finally time. We’ve had a running joke with Diego about the fact that it’s been way too long since we’ve gotten any Pixel leaks.. And they’re finally here, though I’m not exactly sure how excited we should be. We have some new renders from OnLeaks that apparently belong to the Pixel 5a and in typical Pixel fashion, there’s nothing left to the imagination here. As yes, it brings pretty much the exact same design as the Pixel 4a.. Sort of. According to the leaks, this is a 6.2 inch OLED display at FHD+ resolution but, it is still unclear if Google will stick to 60Hz or make the jump to at least 90Hz refresh rate here. At the back, the little stove is making a return but this time we’re getting a dual camera module, finally. In typical Google fashion we should expect the same hardware we get on the Pixel 5 with a 12MP main sensor and a 16MP ultra wide. From the leaks you can see that we’re getting the same punch hole, same fingerprint scanner at the back and the headphone jack is still here! Apparently we should expect the Pixel 5a to come out some time in August this year, maybe with Android 12 as that’s when we should expect the first stable build. So yeah, it seems we’ll be getting a smaller Pixel 4a 5G in every which way you can think of, unless Google plans to fix things under the hood, and it’s not like if the company is famous for that.

XP-Pen Artist 24 Pro Review

For creators these days, a pen-based interface is pretty important. It has a much more direct interaction method versus traditional mouse or trackpad interactions. The old mouse and trackpad are disconnected from the information that you’re actually interacting with on the screen. Touch displays solve that to some degree, but fingers are big and clunky. A more-precise stylus provides much more accuracy. We’ve covered some Wacom displays here on Pocketnow before, and I’ve personally been a big fan of since starting as a graphic designer in the late 1900’s. Today, we get to review a competitor to Wacom’s high-end pen displays in the form of the XP-Pen Artist 24 Pro. I’ve always sworn by Wacom pen tablets/displays, so it will be very interesting to see how the XP-Pen Artist 24 Pro compares, especially since its price is considerably less than a comparable Wacom pen display.

Specs

The Artist 24 Pro’s screen size is about 23.8 inches diagonally which is 20.74 x 11.67″. The display resolution is a nice 2560 x 1440 pixels. In terms of the whole monitor’s size, it’s 24.88 x 14.57 x 1.76 inches. For color gamut options, we’ve got an awesome 90% of Adobe RGB color gamut! You can also use 88% NTSC or 120% sRGB with a color depth of 16.7 million. The contrast ratio is 1000:1 and the response time is 14ms. The viewing angle is about 178 degrees and you can get a brightness level of 250 cd/m2. There’s a 100x100mm VESA mount, too. The stylus doesn’t require a battery and supports 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity as well as 60 degrees of tilt sensitivity.

What’s in the box

The XP-Pen Artist 24 Pro includes a slew of wires and accessories for connecting the display to your computer.

If you have a display port capable USB-C port, you can use the USB-C to USB-C cable in the middle of the above photo to connect the pen display directly to your computer. This works really well and supports the full resolution of the display. If you don’t have a USB-C display port, you’ll have to use the USB-A to USB-C cable on the left to connect to your PC for data transfer AND you’ll have to use the HDMI cable on the right to connect to your GPU. If you have to use the HDMI cable, then you’ll probably only get a 1920 x 1080 pixel display resolution, so it’s better to have a USB-C display port.

You actually get two pens for the Artist 24 Pro! There’s a big cylindrical case to use to keep one safe as well.

The other end of the pen case also unscrews to reveal 8 spare pen tips for when you wear out the one that’s already in the pen.

All of the ports you’ll need are on the back in the above inset area. You’ll need the DC power whether you use the USB-C display port or not. There are two additional USB-A ports here (labeled “Host”) which you can use to connect other peripherals such as a keyboard or whatever.

Hardware and Design

First of all, the 90% Adobe RGB color gamut is beautiful. Getting as close to 100% Adobe RGB as possible is very important for photographers and graphic designers. It’s a wider color gamut than you would get with other monitors or laptops. The Adobe RGB color gamut is an improvement over Apple’s DCI P3 color gamut as well.

The Artist 24 Pro ships with a screen protector over the monitor display area, and that screen protector sheet was very reflective. I was much happier after peeling off the protective plastic which revealed a beautifully anti-glare screen. This is so much better than using iMac’s or Macbook Pro’s which have extremely reflective screens. The Artist 24 Pro diffuses ceiling light reflections really nicely. It’s a joy to work with. Still, I like to keep the ceiling lights off and use a well-placed lamp for room lighting in order to avoid glare completely.

The display looks great, but what about the pen interaction interface? Well, that works great as well. Windows 10 has pretty good inking and pen interaction usability, except for a few bugs that were added in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. The Artist 24 Pro software driver has some good workarounds for Windows 10’s problems, and we’ll talk more about those in the Software section below.

Let’s talk about those express keys and roller dials in the bezels though! There are 10 express keys on each side! That’s 20 programmable hardware buttons. Twenty!! There’s also a dial on both left and right bezels and this too can be programmed to control whatever you want.

The bezel buttons feel great. Not only do they have nice tactile feedback, but they also have some texture differentiators. As seen above, one button has a dot protrusion while another has a dash protrusion. This helps you identify the location of your express key buttons simply by touch. You can keep your eyes on the display and what you’re doing with the pen, while feeling for the programmed controls you’re looking for by using touch alone. This is a huge efficiency booster. Most people use regular keyboard shortcuts for this kind of thing, but being able to program your own hardware buttons to do the things you want is a huge advantage. If you’re left-handed, you can program the buttons on the right side to be your most-used functions, while if you’re right-handed, you can program the buttons on the left side to be your most-used functions.

Wacom’s Cintiq Pro 24 doesn’t have this many programmable bezel buttons at all. It doesn’t have any. Instead, they sell a separate programmable remote that you can hold in your non-dominant hand. Personally, I kind of like the bezel buttons since they’re built-in, don’t require charging, and won’t be as easy to lose as a wireless remote.

20 programmable express keys to memorize is an awful lot though. Some people make stickers to place on the buttons so it’s easier to remember what they do. I might start with programming only 5 of them since that would be easier to memorize and personally, I was really happy with the 6 programmable bezel express keys on my Wacom Mobile Studio Pro 13.

Pen accuracy is quite good as well. It’s very precise and very smooth. The pen has two hardware buttons that you can program as well, but it does not have an eraser on the back end. Also note, that XP-Pen includes a nice drawing glove for resting your hand on the display without getting sweaty hand grease all over. Excellent touch including this!

The included stand attached to the back is very robust. There’s a lever at the top that unlocks the stand’s angle.

It’s easy to pull the lever forward with one hand and lift or lower the display to whatever angle you want. Release the lever to lock the stand in place at the desired angle.

The top right corner is where some normal monitor controls are located. The button on the right is the power button. To the left of that is a display settings menu button that looks like a hamburger. Then there are + and – buttons for navigating the settings menu and changing things like brightness or contrast.

A small clip style pen holder is included, but it’s not so obvious how to use it.

It turns out there are two little rubber circular insets on the left and right sides of the monitor. If you pry the little piece of rubber out, a screw hole appears behind it. You’ll need a flat head screwdriver to screw the pen holder clip into the side.

Even though I tightened the screw, the clip still spins and wobbles, so maybe I didn’t install it properly. I didn’t see any instructions about this aspect of the tablet. Anyway, you might want to buy a different kind of stylus holder. I think I would prefer a desk-top stand that holds the pen upright for me.

Software

There are two driver versions available for download from the XP-Pen website. At first, I tried the “Official” driver and later tried the “New UI” beta driver. The normal official driver software is shown above. It’s not terribly customizable, but certainly good enough.

The dialogue for programming the bezel express keys and dials is not super intuitive. The keys are labeled with numbers and drop-down menus let you add customized functions. At the top, there’s a row where you can add specific programs and when that program is in focus the buttons will use the customized functions for that program. One issue with this driver is that I can’t program the pen to behave differently in different programs. So for example, the “Windows Ink” option is pretty terrible in certain apps like web browsers, the Windows 10 Photos app, the Windows 10 OneNote app, etc. I would want to turn that off in those programs, and it’s not possible with this software. However…

Later on I decided to uninstall the official driver and try the “new UI” beta driver, and it was much better. The user interface design is obviously different, but my previous complaint about not being able to control the pen behavior on a program-by-program basis is fixed.

The interface for customizing the programmable dials and express keys is much improved in the new software as well.

The Express key customization interface now has labels for where the buttons exist on the bezel, but now there’s side-scrolling for matching the key numbers to new functions.

The new software even has the ability to disable certain aspects of the software completely. Thankfully an import/export for saving your configuration settings is here as well.

The interface for programming the Express keys is very extensive too. By default, one of the pen buttons was assigned to the eraser function, but I was able to change it to a “double left click” function pretty easily here.

Pricing & Availability

The XP-Pen Artist 24 Pro is only about $899.99 USD which is less than half the price of a Wacom Cintiq Pro 24. That’s some significant savings. You can order the Artist 24 Pro from the XP-Pen online stores in the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, and Australia.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • $900 is half the price of something comparable from Wacom
  • 20 programmable Express keys in the bezel
  • Included stand has a great range of angles
  • Gorgeous 90% Adobe RGB color gamut and anti-glare screen
  • USB-C displayport compatible
  • Includes all the accessories you could possibly want
  • Included stand can be replaced with a Vesa mount stand

Cons

  • There’s no easy way to show an overlay of what each of the bezel Express keys is programmed to do while you’re working (in case you forget)
  • Included pen doesn’t have an eraser on the back (hold a button down to erase instead)
  • 90% Adobe RGB isn’t as good as 100% Adobe RGB color gamut
  • Some may prefer a desk top pen holder rather than the included bezel mounted holder

Conclusion

That list of “Cons” above are very minor nitpicks compared to the list of “Pros” which are pretty excellent. As a pen display, the XP-Pen Artist 24 Pro feels very similar to the high-end pen displays from Wacom. The Wacom Cintiq Pro 24 is probably a good competitor. Wacom’s Cintiq Pro 24 has a 99% Adobe RGB color gamut though, plus a higher resolution display, more ports, and there’s a version that also supports touch… but it’s more than double the price of the XP-Pen Artist 24 Pro! So yes, the Wacom Cintiq Pro 24 is better, but is it twice the price better? Maybe not.

If we look at how the XP-Pen Artist 24 Pro compares to something that’s closer to its price range, for example, the Wacom Cintiq 22 for $1200, the Artist 24 Pro still looks like a much better deal at $900 with its better resolution, better color gamut, better bezel buttons, and better stand.

If you’ve been craving a new Wacom pen display for graphics and drawing, but are still saving up for a good one, you just might want to consider an XP-Pen Artist 24 Pro instead.
