LG G Pro 2 gets Android 5.0 Lollipop

LG's G3 flagship smartphone has already received Android 5.0 Lollipop, at least the international variant, but another LG high end device is also getting the latest and greatest build of Google's platform. That handset is the G Pro 2, the phablet flagship that rolled out at the Mobile World Conference in 2013, it will also be the last of the G Pro range.

LG G4 to have 3K Screen with 600ppi

LG was at the forefront of the screen revolution that saw 1080p relinquish its crown to 2K Quad HD panels last year. The company's G3 flagship was the first with Quad HD resolution and has been followed by numerous flagships since. However, while 1080p Full HD stood atop the screen pile for some time, Quad HD's reign could be short lived, and before the resolution really took off.

What is the future of Windows Holographic?

Microsoft made me excited about a Microsoft product again. Cortana was really the last time that happened, and I’m happy to report that my excitement was well-founded in that case. But this year, Microsoft introduced Windows Holographic, an augmented reality self contained headset that has a ton of potential in many market segments. This is what investors like to see – multiple applications in multiple verticals, or something like that. I lost my English to Business BS dictionary. So we decided to do a quick roundup from some of our editors on what we saw for the future ...

Anton thinks: Windows Phone is not good for me

…and that’s not entirely Microsoft’s fault. After watching the Microsoft Windows 10 event I decided to give Windows Phone another shot, for a week. It was either that, or because I missed using the platform; it could have also been because I wanted to see what’s new in Windows Phone 8.1, or that getting an Xbox One for two weeks pushed me to it. So I used Windows Phone ...

HTC fesses up to missing 90-day Lollipop update target for One M8, One M7

HTC’s been making big progress with Android Lollipop updates for the One M8 lately: this week we saw the release hit phones in Europe and Canada. Cell-enabled Nexus 7 tablets finally get access to Android Lollipop

After Android 5.0 Lollipop debuted with the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 last fall, Google was quick to start making Lollipop updates available for most of the rest of the Nexus family. We saw phones and tablets alike graduate from KitKat to Android 5.0, then 5.0.1, and most recently, a few select models have been graced with Android 5.0.2. And while that was great, not every Nexus device was so quick to join the Lollipop party: despite Google making

Android users already know that Google Now can be a hugely powerful tool, reminding you about important appointments, helping you navigate to your next meeting, advising you of upcoming weather alerts, and more. But for all that great stuff Now offered, it also put a lot of pressure on Google to deliver relevant content; one company can only do so much, right (yeah, even Google)? How Android could compete with the Microsoft Surface Hub

Microsoft Surface Hub promises to be a “powerful team collaboration device designed to advance the way people work together naturally” and to “unlock the power of the group”. From what we’ve seen, Microsoft Surface Hub looks a whole lot like the failed Microsoft Surface “table computer” that we say several years ago. (No, you read that correctly, “table computer”, not “tablet computer”.)The original Microsoft Surface was essentially a relatively high-powered computer built in to a table. The tabletop was the monitor, and ...

Possible Galaxy S6 schematics suggest Samsung’s slimming the phone down

One of the recent trends surrounding Samsung Galaxy S6 rumors in recent days has been the discovery of numerous images from case manufacturers, attempting to design cases that will be compatible with the upcoming flagship. If we’re to believe that these efforts are based on some advance knowledge of the hardware’s design, there are already details about the GS6 they’ve been able to tell us, like the repositioning of the phone’s flash and hear rate sensor. But now a new find ...
