Half a dozen new Samsung mobile accessories to roll out worldwide soon

Phone discounts, snazzy colors and now a bunch of arguably eccentric entertainment and productivity accessories. That doesn’t sound like much of a rebound plan for Samsung after the catastrophic Galaxy Note 7 failure, but it’s all you can get until the “full-screen” GS8 becomes ready for primetime in the spring.

Currently available in Korea only, the Wireless Speaker Bottle design, Wireless Charger Tray design, Battery Pack Kettle design, USB LED Light, Wireless Speaker Scoop design, and In-ear Headphones Rectangle design are all headed for “markets worldwide beginning in November”, with both online samsung.com and “major regional shopping sites” sales “depending on local availability.”

Dressed to impress while taking aesthetic cues from “dumb” objects around you, these smartphone and tablet peripherals are relatively straightforward when it comes to their abilities and specifications.

Yes, we were dead wrong assuming a few months back that the Scoop would go after Amazon’s Echo smart speaker, with nothing but good old wireless audio controls in tow here, plus a built-in microphone for “fielding calls without reaching for your phone.”

The other not-that-intelligent wireless speaker bizarrely resembles a water canteen on the outside, sporting 360-degree surround sound, whereas a minimalistic wireless charger allows you to “top-up two devices at once.” There are also interesting-looking power banks in the global pipeline with 5,100 and 10,200 mAh capacity, as well as a pretty self-explanatory USB LED Light, and rectangular earphones squeezing “powerful sound into another sleek and portable package.”
