Here’s a simple perk that you may be able to get behind: as HTC continues to sell its latest flagship, the HTC 10, for $200 off (come on, people, just lower the actual retail price), you can also get some bundling action, too.
This time around, the company is bundling in a free pair of Jabra Move wireless headphones with your order, a $99.99 savings. And yes, you can choose to wire them up if you want, but that’s not the point — they’re wireless and they’re free.
The HTC 10 will continue to be $499 through to December 20 and you can get four per order while one Jabra Move headset is available per order while supplies last.
What’s going on Android? Google put out this great little update called Nougat, but nearing the end of 2016, precious few phones have been updated. Android 7.0 adoption is woefully low.
We had plans on producing a larger round up of phones post Android 7.0 update, but unfortunately we’re still waiting to see how numerous manufacturer BETA pilot programs will play out. There are flavors of this update available for Samsung, Sony, and LG, but until then, we’re just chilling over here with this slick little HTC 10.
The last week we’ve been putting this software through its paces. What’s changed? What’s new? Have we run into any missteps or crippling bugs?
We recently examined the HTC 10 in our After the Buzz series, and now with Nougat, it’s time to circle back to one of the more unsung flagships of 2016. Maybe some day we’ll be able to produce that larger Nougat round up, but increasingly we’re starting to fear that new phones will be released before proper updates are pushed. Until then HTC 10 owners can feel a bit more on the pulse.
Yup, the aging, never-awfully-popular HTC One M9 follows its successor’s suit “late this evening”, scoring the brand-new platform iteration that’s still at a microscopic sub-1 percent global share. According to the Taiwanese OEM’s USA Twitter channel, “carrier variants” will only leave Marshmallow behind “early next year”, possibly not before the unlocked One A9 also receives OTA 7.0 goodies.
Remember, the HTC One M9 was originally released in spring of 2015 with Lollipop pre-installed, no doubt reaching the end of the major software support road now on Nougat.
HTC let us know that it would be supporting its three latest flagship phones with Android Nougat as soon as it could. Twice.
Well, it’s time to pay up get to rolling that update out. And it starts with unlocked units of the HTC 10, according to the company’s US Twitter account.
The Unlocked #HTC10 is getting Android Nougat — We’ve just passed TA testing, so you can expect a rollout to begin on Friday. pic.twitter.com/tmEnc0lyQq
The next several hours will be exciting for some HTC 10 owners as they’ll get a piece of how the HTC Bolt/HTC 10 evo acts with its Nougat. One A9 and One M9 owners, stay tuned.
